Waning Crescent
It was after one of their bi-weekly movie nights.
The movie had long since ended, but neither of them had felt particularly sleepy.
So Jin had made them both some tea and they huddled under blankets out in the small, cramped balcony.
The moon smiled down at them as they spoke of 1AM things and thoughts.
"Do you think the moon is actually sad?" Jihyo asked, pointing up at the crescent moon.
"Hm?"
"What if it's not smiling. The crescent could've been upside down. And we wouldn't know. Maybe it's sad."
"Or maybe it is happy?"
"Or maybe it wants us to think it's happy."
"Hm.."
"So many people do it, though. Mina does that, too. Almost everyone. Even you."
"Even you."
"... Yeah, can't argue with that." She laughed drily.
Jin turned to stare at her, observing her for a bit as she frowned up at the moon.
"Hey," He nudged her with his foot, getting up. "Get dressed."
"Huh? Why?"
"Come on, come on! Hurry hurry, honey bunny." He sang.
She quickly pulled on a jumper and her jacket, somewhat used to Jin's sudden requests, and followed him out.
They didn't walk too far.
Jin stopped at the playground two blocks from their apartment complex and they stood for a moment, just watching.
It looked so different when it's dark; when there aren't any children running around, laughing and playing.
It looked quiet, sombre. Almost creepy.
"Hey," Jin leaned in to whisper. "you're it." And then he ran away from her.
Jihyo stood, confused for a second before his words registered, and then ran after him with a laugh.
It was moments like these that Jihyo appreciated about the man.
Moments like these that has her heart suddenly deciding it wanted to join a circus and her stomach suddenly deciding it wanted pet butterflies.
It hasn't even been that long since they started talking to each other - just about four months - but he'd helped her so much.
She grabbed Jin's jacket with a yell of 'tag, you're it now!' and ran away, Jin close at her heels.
They chased each other around the empty playground until they got tired and decided to see if there were any street food they could buy.
There weren't, and Jin complained about it loudly, refusing to go to the 24 hour fast food place and dragging her to his place so he could make a late night (early morning?) snack for them.
