Johnny POV
As we arrived to the hotel I silently cheered because the car ride over was an awkward silence except for faint sound of music getting played through Mackenzies AirPods. Mackenzie was the first one out the car for obvious reasons but she looked extra pissed at me. "Do you know why exactly Jacob is at the hospital" Annie asked as she saw Mackenzie "something about a fight. Nothing too big" she said "remember when you first went to the hospital for a fight" she said "oh yeah then 20 hours later I was in handcuffs it was great" Mackenzie said giving her a deadly glare " oh shut up. You won" she said clapping which I chuckled at.
"So Mackenzie or whatever her name is said she will give us the room alone" Nadia said as I opened the trunk "and why is that" I asked pulling out Ashers suitcase "well I wanna talk" she said smiling as I pulled out Annie's and they cane to get theirs "we broke up. I'm not crying rivers over it and I've moved on so if you will excuse me I would like to stay here alone rather than with you" I told her pulling out Mackenzie suitcase and slamming it in the ground "ok fine" she said getting back in the car. "Can I get my bag or do you wanna continue slamming it against the ground" Kenzie asked from behind me "oh um yeah here you go" I said and she gave me a warm smile.
"Hi I'm here to check in for...." my mom stoped "Mackenzie Ziegler" kenzie said "Asher Angle" Asher said "Julianna LaBlanc" Annie whispered but obviously too loud because Kenzie giggled. "Shut up not everyone got a good name" she said punching Mackenzie in the arm "ok here are 4 keys" she said handing them all to Kenzie and she gave one to all of us and gave hers to Nadia. "If you guys don't mind. It will be 30 minutes before your rooms are ready so you can sit down in the lobby" the front desk lady said and we all nodded. As everyone went over to the lobby Mackenzie stayed behind to ask the front desk lady something.
"Kenz. Can you help me on this problem" I asked and she just nodded "you know this was due like 5 days ago" she laughed taking the paper from my hand "I mean I do now" I said and she just rolled her eyes "just multiply by 18 then divide by 2 it's so simple" she said "wow look I did it on this page I must have forgotten" I said smirking and she blushed "I hate you" she said getting up and sitting by Annie. "So are you just gonna block out the rest of the world with your toxic music" Annie said and Mackenzie just giggled "it's not toxic. Heavy metal crap isn't my thing" she said giving Annie one of her AirPods. "No death metal" she said and Mackenzie flipped her off.
After about 15 minutes of sitting down Mackenzie gets up and heads to the bathroom. She had been ignoring me all day and now I wanna ask why. I get up to head to the bathroom, on my way over there I just see Mackenzie sitting down on the floor on the wall next to the bathroom. "Wow you can use the bathroom in 10 seconds" I said chuckling "I just needed space" she said "from me right" I asked and she looked confused "not just from you" she said "just from all the judging and stares I was getting" she said "you know this whole school thing was for us to actually be able to do stuff together and we can't do that if you're mad at me" I said and she laughed coldly
"Do you really think I wanna sit here and not spend time with you. Well I'm sorry if I Dont wanna compete with the red princess over there" she said "what are you competing in. I want you and only you why can't you except that" I asked "the fact that you can't even tell she wants you is a problem" she said "I don't care what she wants. All I need to be focused on is you and what you want. So what do you want Mackenzie" I asked her "Johnny you know what I want" she said "well obviously not because five hours ago you were all mine and now you can't stand me. So Mackenzie tell what you want so I can give it to you" I yelled at her.
"I WANT YOU. I WANT YOU BUT I CANT HAVE YOU. YOU EXPECT ME TO BEAT A FUCKING MODEL/GENIUS AT HER OWN GAME. I TRIED TO LET IT GO BUT I CANT AND I CAN SEE THERES SOMETHING THERE AND I CANT GET IN THE WAY OF THAT" she yelled back. "It's you and me. Not you,me,and Nadia. I'm sorry that you think there's a competition when there isn't-" I was cut off by a kiss. I smiled into the kiss "excuses me" someone said and we parted ways trying not to laugh. "You know I was really trying to be mad at you" she said sitting back down on the wall "well that sucks. You obviously failed" I said sitting next to her
"Imagine living in New York just free of all problems" she said randomly "you wanna live in New York" I asked raising an eyebrow "yeah. I'm more of a big city girl" she said "just everything you can accomplish in New York is crazy" she said smiling "so that's where you wanna go when you turn 18" I asked her and she nodded "welp I guess me and you are taking over New York" I said and she just smiled with me "we need to make a handshake" she suggested which caused me to make a disgusted face "oh shut up. We have to have a thing" she said "we have plenty of things" I said "like surprise kisses, fights, laughing,music" fun stuff "speaking of music let's listen to some." She said giving me her right AirPod and playing her playlist.
"I just realized we barley know each other" I said and she raised an eyebrow "I mean yeah I obviously know you but like the real pure Mackenzie. The one who is weird and jumps around" I explained "that's happy Mackenzie. you don't see her that often" she told me "why not" I asked "I'm not about to go into detail with you about my problems" she laughed obviously uncomfortable "that's fine" I said opening my arms as she straddled me "you know I'm completely and utterly insane" she said "you can have a sane girl who isn't going to piss you off every 5 seconds" she said "blah. I want a challenge. Plus you aren't insane maybe not completely sane but not insane" I said linking out hands together "we are so weird" she giggled which made me smile. Once she stoped giggling we just stared at each other until she spoke.
"I'm going to kiss you if that is ok" she said "you don't have to ask me" I laughed "stop laughing at me" she giggled "I'm sorry. I'm sorry" I said trying to stop laughing. This went on for like a good minute until she kissed me. I kissed back and I could feel her smile which made me melt inside. Things started to get a little heated until my phone dinged. I tried very hard to ignore it but it kept going off which annoyed me. I pulled out of the kiss which she made a confused face at "sorry my phone keeps going off" I said and she nodded. Every text o got was from Nadia about the room. One particular text got my attention. She said she needed a shirt so she's getting one from my suitcase. "Shit" I said "I have to go" I said standing up and running away.
The next day Kenzie POV.
Today is our first day and let's just say I'm extremely nervous. I haven't seen Johnny since last night and I'm very curious about what was on the texts because he was fine until the last one. He also took my AirPod so hopefully he didn't lose it "Kenz we have 30 minutes until we have to leave go wake up your little boyfriend" Annie said while curling her hair. As I walk down the hall I come across his door and i knock hopefully loud enough "hold on" I heard a sleepy voice say "what" she said opening the door "I was just coming to tell you we leave in 30 minutes" I said looking into his eyes "and that doesn't mean come down in 30 that means leaving in 30" I said and he looked taken back "bye" I said before he could say anything.
"Do you know where my suitcase is" I asked Asher "in Johnnys room" Asher said "well I guess I'll finish getting ready over there" I said leaving the room and heading over to Johnnys. "Wow. Look who's back" Johnny said standing in his door "oh shut up I just need clothes and hair stuff" I said pushing myself in the neat room. "It's in the closet" he said as I grabbed it. "You should match with me" he said smirking "why" I asked "I mean couples do that all the time" he said "who said we were a couple" I asked and he looked chocked up "I mean we never said anything about it so I just assumed" he said clearly uncomfortable "no it's fine. But you never asked me out" she said "well will you go out with me" he asked and I nodded "but I'm not matching with you" I said pulling out leggings and a t-shirt "we got 25 minutes let's go" he said clapping his hands.

"Ew are we that comments disabled couple" Johnny said "no but your mom and sister hate me so I will keep them disabled until they leave me Alone" I said and he just rolled his eyes. We have 5 minutes til our bus leaves do I rush so I can be the first on the bus. "Let's go I wanna be the first one on" I said grabbing my backpack and dragging Johnny out the door "it sucks. We are in two different grades" Johnny said "I mean we still have lunch,and passing period, and study hall,and electives" I explained and he rolled his eyes "so. You know I got expelled from one of my schools" Johnny asked and I nodded "well this is bit school and I'm a bit nervous" he said "it's ok. We can be nervous recks together" I giggled which caused him to laugh too.
As our bus pulled up to the school everyone was staring at us. More specific someone on the bus. "Why did they have to choose this school" Johnny said ask we all got off "they can't really kick you out again" Asher laughed and I slapped the back of his head "this is a good day. Don't ruin it for me" I told them but more specifically Johnny. "We have 20 minutes until class so let's get going" Annie said. Johnnys looked extremely nervous, more nervous than me which is weird "did you do something that bad" I asked him " yes" was his simple answer "gives your hand" I said sticking out mine. He interlocked his fingers with mine. Which made us both smile. "Ok so the office for me and Kenzie is this way and yours is up there and to the right" Johnny said
Johnny POV
"So what are somethings I should know. Like who not to talk to and all that" she asked "this school isn't like that. There's not much drama but any friends of Nadia don't let them touch anything of yours" I said very seriously. As we walked through the halls all eyes were on us. We were on our way to the office when I got stopped by the principal "didn't I expel you mr.Orlando" he asked "I'm at with the mental hospital group" I said smirking but he didn't find it funny "one slip up and your out" he said and I nodded "well here are your schedules now get to class" he said when I realized the bell just rang
"We have 1-4 together then 7" I said handing back her schedule "that's two classes where I won't have friends" she said "Mackenzie it's not that bad. If you want we can skip until you feel comfortable" I explained "yeah no" she said which caused me to chuckle. As we walk into class we were late but we have an excuse "ahhh mr.orlando your late" the annoying science teacher yelped "was talking to the principal" I said "ok well you sit over there and your friend can sit right here" she said as I let go of Mackenzies hand. Half way through class we were told to get with a partner I motioned for Mackenzie to come over. Once she was sitting by me and smiled at her but she didn't reciprocate "did you used to date multiple girls" she asked me randomly "what" I said confused "everyone is saying how you got expelled for something that had to do with a group of girls" she said "and who did you hear this from" I asked "idk this kid named Dani I think" she said "ok" I said "so did you" she asked "why does it matter" I snapped "I was just curious sorry" she said "no I didn't mean to yell" I said "it's fine I provoked you" she said.
Lunch-
Me and Kenzie didn't have last class together so I have to find her before she sits with somebody else for lunch. "Wow Orlando is actually back" I heard someone say "not for long so save your parade" I said not caring enough to pay attention to them. "Your girlfriend is really nice" they said "why is she dating you. Does she know what you did" they asked "I mean obviously you drugged her or something because she definitely doesn't seem like the type to fall for a psychopath-" they said before slammed them into a locker "can you shut up. You are talking about my girlfriend and just because I don't go here anymore doesn't mean I can't make you life a living hell" I said "mr.Orlando do we have a problem here" the principal asked "no. Just horse playing with an old friend" I said smiling "if I see it again you're out" he said and I nodded
"You suck at lying" Mackenzie said turning the corner "I should go. Nice talk Orlando" the football player said "WHAT-THE-ACTUAL-FUCK-IS-WRONG-WITH -YOU" Mackenzie said punching me with every word "how do you manage to almost get in a fight on the first day" she asked "I don't wanna talk about it" I said "so now you don't wanna talk to me" she scoffed "oh shut up. I just don't wanna talk about it now" I said "but your gonna tell me right" she asked "maybe" I said "I want food let's go" she said pulling me into the cafeteria where everyone stares at us "how about you sit outside and I'll meet you out there" I whispered to her and she nodded
Kenzie POV
As I found a table in the back I pulled out a notebook and started writing everything that came to mind in it. I was just about to start a new page when some guy came up to me. "Your Mackenzie right" he asked "yeah" I said giving a soft smile "when did you move here I didn't know we were getting a new student" he said "oh no I live in LA. I'm just here for an experiment" I said "oh. Well there's a night light game on Friday. You should come" he said "well I'll have to check to make sure I don't have plans" I said and he smiled "so if football the thong around here or is it still hockey" I asked "just for our school. Hockey is still super big but we like to embrace it" he said
"Are you here alone or do you have friends" he asked "oh my sister and her boyfriend are here. And my best friend" I said "are they coming to sit with you or not" he asked "they should but I honestly don't know" I said giggling "well I'll keep you company until they come" he slid next to me. We talked for a good 5 minutes but it definitely felt like hours.
Johnny POV
As I was about to go back outside when Annie stoped me "how about you eat inside" she said "nope. Kenzie's outside and I said I'd eat with her" I said pushing past "then I'll invite her inside" Asher said "omg it's not this deep. Bye now" I said opening the back doors to see Mackenzie talking to Ashton. I'm usually not the jealous type but something about how comfortable she was around him. "I forgot my books in my last class I'll be right back" I said still staring at them "I think they are just friends" Annie said as I threw everything that I got her away. As I walk through the halls I search for Nadia which I know isn't good but we are just friends. "Hey nads" I yell as I see her come out the bathroom "oh look. The one who rejected me came running back" she said "ok can we just cut the crap. We all know you like Darius" I said as she turned red "I was kidding but good to know for blackmail" I said
"So what do you want" she asked "you busy after school on Friday" I asked "no" she questioned "ok good. We should hang out as like friends" I said "you have a girlfriend" she said "I know. I mean strictly as friends. We can talk about your huge crush" I teased "ok fine. It's just two friends hanging out" she said and I nodded "ok well I have to go find my friends" she said "ok. I'll see you on Friday" I said smiling
