Mahir's POV
After Delhi meeting was over I went back to Indore.. when I got a call from Trisha and she informed me that tomorrow would be the board meeting. I had o attend it without any delay and it was damn important.
I saw the time. It was 3am. She might be sleeping so I didn't messaged her. I was so tired so I thought to sleep for some hours.
"Mahir. Your dad's calling you to office. It's late" she said when I realized it's already 10 am.
"Yeah mom tell him that I'll be there in half an hour" I replied
I went in bathroom and after bath I changed into my grey tuxedo and went downstairs.
"Mahir eat something " said mom
"No mom. Already late. See you at night" I replied and went to parking.
I drove car as soon as possible to meeting.
I was late I knew but board meeting was to be in evening. I attended all the meetings with clients.. saw presentations of employees and completed all my pending work.
I saw Surbhi's message. I wanted to call her but I thought to call her later on. In the evening we all sat in the board meeting. I was already freaked since morning.
Aanand was also there. The Board meeting was going on when my phone buzzed on table. Surbhi was calling me but It soon stopped buzzing.
Once again it started buzzing and everyone looked at me.
"Mr. Maheshwari, I think this call is more important to you then the board meeting. You attend that" said one board member.
Damn you!!! These people want just a reason to start!!!
"No.. Nothing like that " I told and cut the call.
But again there was a call from her. Has she gone mad or what.
Everyone looked at me again..
" Excuse me. It's really urgent " I excused and went out for minutes in my cabin.
What the hell has happened to her. I was pissed off since morning and she was pissing me more. Again her call came. I picked it up.
" why you... " she tried to say but before it I spoke.
" Surbhi. Don't you understand if someone's not picking the calls and replying messages he's damn busy. I'm in board meeting and you're calling me constantly. Why you're being so stubborn. Can't you wait for a while. I would've called you back. But no. You don't see if a person is busy or not. Are your senses knocked down" I shouted.
Here I was thinking to over the work soon and she kept calling me constantly and that too in front of board people.
Now she's not speaking anything. What the hell.
"Now will you speak anything" I snapped
"I didn't wait for a while. I've been waiting from the whole day. Sorry to disturb you. I'll not disturb you again. " she said and before I could say anything she cut the call.
Wow. Shouldn't I be the one to cut the call. But was she crying while saying. Huff!!! I was completely pissed off.
I kept my phone there only and went to the board meeting back. My mood was really bad. After the board meeting was over I went to my Cabin. It was already 11:00 pm. I called at cafeteria for a good cup of black coffee. I really need this.
" One black coff..." I was saying when someone snatched phone.
"What the fuck ." I yelled when I saw Aanand.
"Two black coffee in cabin now" he said and cut the call.
"What are you doing here right now. " I asked irritated
"If you can't handle anything then why you try to" he told
"What" I asked
"You're working since 36 hours with just a small nap last night. Are you mad or what bro" he said
"It was important I thought to clear schedules from tomorrow " I replied
The black coffee came. After tea it's the only thing which I love. I took my cup and started drinking it.
"You seemed really in a bad mood. Have you scolded someone" he asked
"I've not scolded her okay. I just said her." I said and he smirked
"You just said her?? Really " he asked
"Yes" I said sipping my coffee
"Think and say Mahir. I don't know what happened and what you did and to whom but just recall what you said" he sighed
"I didn't... " I was saying when I realized he isn't wrong.
I recalled what I said her and I realized that I really did wrong.
I said her that I'll call her... that can't she wait for a while. I would've called her back in while.. 10 hours...is this your while....really Mahir.
She was calling you and messaging you since morning. When did your while come..and I shouted on her for this.
Suddenly my phone rang. Divya di was calling me.
"Hey Mahir. Where are you Boy" she asked
"Office di. But why are you awake at this hour. You fine" I asked
"Yes. I am absolutely alright. Baby was crying so I woke up and then I saw you were not back yet. I even forget to tell you in the noon Surbhi's call came. She was asking if you were okay or not. She was really concerned. You've called her na" she asked
Shit!! Shit!! Mahir. How could you do this.
Now I was feeling so guilty.
"I'll message her. Di you go and sleep.I'll come in two hours. " I told and cut the call.
"It was my mistake Aanand. My all frustration came out on Surbhi. Damn me!! " I cursed myself.
"I knew. It was on your whole face when you came in the meeting again. But I didn't know that person was Surbhi. Well that's wrong. " He glared
" I'll message her right now and say sorry. She'll talk to me na " I asked him and he chuckled
" She's not like you. Sort out! She'll talk" He said
"You don't know her. If she's angry ,she'll not even see my face" I said pulling out my phone again. I turned on my data and there a message popped from her.
I clicked at it. She was so concerned about me. She sent me message from morning and I didn't reply her. I saw her message. I read her long message. My senty girl.
"I'm so sorry baby. I realized my mistake. Forgive me please. And wait for me. I'm coming to pick my love " I typed and send her.
I smiled at this. She'll definitely reply me in the morning.
" Okay now go home. Your wife must be waiting for you " I said to Aanand
" Yeah. After some days I'll say you the same" He smirked at me.
"I'm waiting for that to be heard " I told and we laughed.
I came home and was on a online meeting with the clients in Brazil.
I'll call her in the morning first. The meeting ended at 6:00 am.
I didn't sleep since yesterday but the excitement to see my love after ten days overpowered my sleep.
The first thing that came in my mind was my Surbhi. I checked my phone. No reply. Even not seeing the message.
Are you giving a punishment.
Well no issues. I'll make you happy when I'll come to pick you up in noon.
Thinking this I stood up smiling. After bathing and changing in my casuals I went downstairs.
I checked my phone again but still no replies. It was 9:00 am. She would've surely woke up. I called her. Rings were going on but there was no reply.
Well I think this time she's really much angry on you Mahir.
"Did someone talk to Surbhi today" I asked everyone but everyone answered in no.
"Mom. I'll be going at 11:00 to pick Surbhi from Sivni " I said
" Okay. Take care of her" she told
"Of course mom" I said and my phone rang that time.
Surbhi. I thought.... But it was her mom.
"Jai shree Krishna mummy. " I said and she wished me back.
" What happened mummy . You called this time " I asked
" Yes. Mahir. Are you going to bring Surbhi from Sivni " she asked
" Yes mummy. I'll leave at 11" I told
"Okay child. Take care of her and bring her safely " she replied
" Your daughter will be safe with me mummy " I assured
" Yeah.I know that" she said.
Bidding me bye she cut the call.
Soon it was 10:30. I saw my phone. She had not replied to my messages till now. Is she so much angry on me. I'll take something for her. Something which she can't deny. I thought and went to the kitchen.
Thank God no one's here. Otherwise they would've asked me ample amount of questions.
I hurried and took four slice of white bread.. Cut fruits and took jam in one plate. And taking ketchup bottle with me and ran to my room fastly. I spread jam on the bread pieces and placed cut fruits between two bread and then taking ketchup bottle I made a sorry.
I know I'm poor at this but it didn't look that bad. She'll definitely melt seeing this.
I told home staff to bring a Tiffin from kitchen without saying anyone. She did as I said and then putting the Sorry Sandwiches in Tiffin box I came to the parking. I drove to Sivni.
I called Surbhi once again but she didn't reply me this time also.
I reached Sivni at 3 pm. The village didn't have much crowd as it had on camp day when I dropped Surbhi here. I went to the government cottage near hospital where Surbhi was staying. She must be inside.
I stepped out from the car. There was no one near. I went inside the cottage but mostly the rooms were locked. What's this.
I came out and went to the hospital.
"Excuse me. Where's Dr. Surbhi " I asked
" Who. There are only two doctors in village. No one named this" said the man on small counter
"What do you mean no one. Since last ten days she was here only " I said
" Oh okay. You're saying about Camp doctors. " He asked
" Yes. Where are they " I questioned
" Sir. They went back in morning itself. The camp was over last night. There were no patients to see so everyone went away in the morning only" He told
What. Surbhi also went to Indore. Atleast she would've informed me. I called Neeti di.
"Hey Mahir. Where are you. We all are waiting for you" she said
"Waiting for me. Oh so it means Surbhi's there" I asked.
"What. No. We're waiting for you both Mahir. You're picking up Surbhi from there na" she said
"Di... Didn't she reach home yet" I asked
"Mahir. Why are you kidding. How she'll come. She said me yesterday night that you'll pick her up" she told
"Di... She's not here " I replied
" Mahir. No jokes right now." she said
"Di..... I'm not joking at all. She's not here in Sivni" I told
"Mahir... What do you mean she's not there " she asked concerned
" I'll tell you.. Just come out of the house or go in your room. I don't want everyone to know this and worry" I said and she nodded
"Yeah tell now. Where's she. What do you mean she's not there. " she asked.
I told her everything what I came to know.
" Mahir... Where's she. She's never careless. She'll not go alone when you and we all told her. But if she's not in Sivni where's she" di asked Concerned
"Di.. You Don't stress. I'll call you in half an hour" I said cut the call.
I went to the head of the village and told him. He said he'll look in the whole village.
She might be at someone's home treating them Mahir. You know your Surbhi right.
After half an hour the head came
"What happened. Where's she. Do you said her to come here. I'm waiting for her" I said
" Sorry Mr. Maheshwari she's not in the village " He replied
" What do you mean not in your village. " I shouted
"Mr. Maheshwari she's not a kid. She might have went to the city by herself" He said
"She's not in the city. She's not picking my calls. She's not answering my messages " I yelled
" Mr. Maheshwari she might have gone somewhere " He told.
Is he mad of what. I ruffled my hand on my hair in frustration. Where are you Surbhi. Where are you. I called her once again and now her phone was switch off.
" God Damn it!!! " I shouted
I came to my car and came back to Indore. I saw the sandwiches I made for her. Where are you Surbhi . This is not fare!!
I went to her house. It's important to tell her dad.
" Hey Mahir. You came. Where's Surbhi. She's in the car " asked Mummy.
" Mummy.. That.. Actually..." I tried to say
"Mahir." di asked me and I nodded my head in negation and her face fell.
"Where's papa" I asked di
"Where's Surbhi Mahir" asked mummy again
"Mummy. You come inside I'll tell you" I said.
"Jai shree krishna papa" I wished
"Oh Mahir you came. Where's Surbhi " He asked
" Papa... Actually... That" I tried to say.
I don't know how to say him that his daughter is missing.
" Mahir... What happened " He asked again this time concerned
" Papa. Surbhi... She's not in Sivni " I said
" What do you mean She's not in Sivni. You went to pick her up right" He asked.
I nodded and told her everything.
Surbhi's mom was shocked to listen this.
"Mahir. Where's she. Where she has gone. I've not talked her since yesterday. And it's 6pm " she said
My mom and dad also came till now. I told Divya di on the way itself. Surbhi was not only my life.. She had became everyone's life here. My mom was also having tears in her eyes and her mom was the one who was tensed the most.
I called Aanand and told her everything. He and Priya also came.
This is all due to me. I'm a fucking idiot. I'm responsible for all this.
Surbhi's dad have talked to every one and all her friends. I called Anjali and she was also crying.
Where are you Surbhi... Where are you. I closed my eyes and her laughing face came in front of me.
" Papa. This is all my mistake. But I promise I'll bring her back safe. I promise " I assured and he nodded.
What more can I expect.
Papa was not in a state to say anything else. After all she's his princess.
" Hey.. Mahir.. Did you find something " asked Aanand Coming from gate
" No Aanand. You do one thing. Come with me to the police station" I said and he nodded
We drove to the police station
"Mr. Maheshwari you here. What happened. " asked the DCP
"Mr.Patil we've to file a missing complain. Just do it as fast as possible" said Aanand
"But about whom" He asked
" About Surbhi Birla. His fiancée" said Aanand.
" From where and when " He asked. Aanand told him everything.
" Sorry Mr. Aanand. We can't file the complain of missing before 24 hours. " He said.
" What do you mean you can't " I shouted angrily standing up from my chair.
" Mr. Maheshwari .. According to the laws a missing complain have to be filed after 24 hours" said the DCP.
I banged my hands on his table angrily.
"Listen you.. Screw all this laws of yours okay. Damn it. My Surbhi is missing. And you want 24 hours for that. Don't forget who I am. Just Find Her Right Now" I barked and everyone looked at me terrified.
"But Sir.. Sir.. " He tried to say
" I'll just call DGP and get you suspended ... Don't forget whom you're messing with. I'll not leave anyone of you if anything happens to my Surbhi. Keep this in your thick skulls " I shouted angrily and threw the glass.
"Mahir.. Are you mad...what are you doing... " Snapped Aanand and I looked at him angrily
" What am I doing...what is he doing.. Why don't he just go and find my Surbhi " I demanded angrily
"Mahir. Sit here silently. I'll talk to him" He said
"Listen sir. You know who he is and Surbhi is his fiancee and daughter of Shekhar Birla. And I think you'll not want anything like this to happen " He said and the DCP nodded terrified
" We'll go to Sivni right now. Sir" said The DCP
"Mahir... Come let's go home." Aanand told
"No.. You go. I'll go to Sivni" I said
"But Mahir... " He tried to say but before he could say I went to the car.
" Fine. I'm coming with you " He shouted from behind
" Since how many hours you've not slept " He asked
" Why does it matter right now" I asked frustrated
"Go on the passenger seat. I'll drive" He said and I nodded .
I clicked Surbhi's number again but the calls went in voice messages!
I opened my inbox and saw if she has seen messages but no replies. God Surbhi.. Where are you love.
I want to talk to you. I want you.
Her last message was , only what was revolving in my mind. She messaged me...
" I know you're much busy. But you never did so.. So I was in tension if you're alright or not. That's why I called you and messaged you. Well just a request next time please don't ignore my messages after seeing them. It hurts. That's my condition today because I love you and you're not here with me. You'll realize it the day when you'll be away from me due to any reason any work.. I know you too love me a lot and You'll be missing me and that time may be I'll be in the same state that I couldn't reply you even if you'll wish for my text or even if I would miss texting you. May me that day you'll realize "
It was her message.
Yes Surbhi I'm missing you badly. And here I'm dying to listen to your voice and I'm so helpless that I can't.
I closed my eyes. Surbhi I just hope you're safe. I'll die if something happens to you love.
I looked at the sandwich box.
"You made it for her" Aanand asked and I nodded. I'm not in the state to reply
" Mahir... We're here" said Aanand
"Hmm... " I mumbled
" Mahir.. You're crying " asked Aanand
"No" I told
"Then what's this " He said and he wiped my tear.
A tear escaped my eye again. I was not even in this sense that I'm crying.
I hugged Aanand.
" She's my life Aanand. It's all due to me. If I would've not said her last night all that then this wouldn't have happened " I whispered as one more tear left my eye!
" Mahir.. Nothing is due to you.. See her last message. She said she loves you... You're her strength. Nothing is due to you . Don't blame yourself Mahir. " He said
" she'll be alright na. " I asked
" She'll be alright if you'll be" He told and I nodded
"Sir.. She's not here and not even in Indore. Our search team had found this from one house. Does this belong to her" asked Mr. Patil and gave me some thing.
"Surbhi's specs " I whispered
" Is this her" asked Mr. Patil again and I nodded
"Yes... It's her... Where did you find this" I asked
"In that home. It means she was in that house. And we've came to know that this house is of this man" said Mr. Patil pointing towards a man.
I went towards him and held his collars.
"Where's Surbhi...where's she" I asked angrily
"Sir..Sir..I don't know..believe me. Those men came and they threatened me to do so..." he said frightened
"Who.. which man" I asked
"I don't know..they said me if I'll not empty my home for half an hour they'll kill my son who's admitted in hospital " he told
"Mr.Maheshwari he's saying right. We've crosschecked " said Mr.Patil.
" I want my Surbhi back. Please.. please...Find her for me. I beg you " I said joining my hands.
I think this was the first time when I've joined my hands in front of anyone. I'm begging to anyone
"Sir..we'll find her" assured Mr.Patil
"Mahir..I think we should go home. It's too late. We'll again search her tomorrow " said Aanand
"Are you mad Aanand , tomorrow. I'll die till then" I shouted
"Mahir. You've not slept since 24 hours. That coffee was the last thing you've taken. Come home eat something " he said
" No Aanand. I can't even sit properly. I don't even know where's Surbhi... How she's. Have she eaten anything or not." I said. My phone rang. I gave the phone to Aanand. It was Divya di
"Yes. Di" he said.
"No di..no clue...police said that they think she has been kidnapped." He said again
"Yes di..he's not listning to me..you say him" added Aanand and handed the phone to me.
"How's mummy and papa di" I asked
"Not much good Mahir.." she replied.
"Di..I'm missing her " I said in cracked voice
"Mahir..we'll find her. You come home. You're sleepless since two nights..and you've not eaten anything since morning" she whispered in a hoarse voice.
"I'm a lifeless body without her di. And a lifeless body needs nothing" I told
"Mahir. You've to be strong...strong for her " she consoled
"How could I di...My life is stuck in her...She's my everything di...I want to see her face. I want to see her smile..I want her to talk with me." I said and tears pooled my eyes. I controlled my tears.
"Mahir..but come..everyone's tensed for you now..Surbhi's dad is saying you to come home and rest for a while" said di.
I hummed and cut the call.
We were on our way to Indore....when I got message.
It was a photo. I clicked it and I was shocked to see this.
"Surbhii" I shrieked and Aanand stopped the car.
"Where. " He asked and I showed him the photo.
My Surbhi was there... She was kidnapped. I don't know who those bastards were. They had tied her on a chair , unconscious.
" Once let me find you bastards, I'll kill you" I shouted
"Mahir..who's number is this" asked Aanand
"I don't know.. Just do one thing. Drive fast and take car to crime branch " I said and he nodded.
We reached there and entered in.
" Mr. Maheshwari you here at this time. What happened." asked one officer
"I want you to check one number and find details about it.. And also that from which city in India this number is " I said and he nodded.
After ten minutes he came back.
" Sir. This number is unavailable at this time but the thing is this number is of India but this message has been sent from another Country " said the officer.
" One minute. What do you mean by another country " asked Aanand
" Sir.. This is Indian sim but our team has found out that network is not connected via Indian satellites. It's from... England" said the officer.
"I think you're mistaken sir... How she has reached England.. And no one can take her to England " Aanand told
" Mr. Maheshwari you're a big personality.. Do you have any personal grudges with someone. Someone in England?" He asked
" No.. He don't... And I don't understand how can she be in England... No one can take her there. Why will anyone take her to England " said Aanand again.
" There's One who can take her there" I whispered
"What " asked Aanand
I didn't say anything. I just moved towards my car. I know who has done this... And now I was Able to recall her.
Her every line was roaming in my head which she said that day...
Mahir Maheshwari. You'll face the consequences of ignoring and shouting on me. You know I love you and I want you right and I achieve everything what fascinates me....
Mind my words Mahir. Be as I like you to be otherwise maybe because of you your family may face the consequences
Mahir Maheshwari. You'll regret every bit of it....
