What is peace?
Is it the feeling of a mother's lap;
Or the breath on a condensed glass ?
Is is the silence in the streams;
Or the noise in your head?
Can we define peace?
Can we define it at all?
As the calmness of the sea;
Or the silence as dusk turns to dawn?
As a scribble on your wall;
Or the symphony of your heart beating?
Peace is a memory, a thing of beauty;
It's a voice , a reminder of calm that washes over me..
It is a reminder of how wonderful life is, how better it could be.
It is the prayers that keep us safe,
It's the secured lives we live in.
Peace resides within us.
It resides in the chaos of our apprehensions;
It resides in our turmoil.
It's a needle in the hay,
Like a single sun ray;
With a boundless ocean to fill.
It is right under our skin waiting to wash over me.
So what is peace?
Can we define it at all?
