Ambika's POV:
Taking a photoframe of her and her sister together (A/N for people who are wondering, they are identical twins)
I let tears rolled down from my eyes. " it's been almost 12 years since he last spoke to me. seriously I don't know what I have done that he hates me till now just because Riya and Ajay took my side, he didn't speaks with them too. I had very bad feeling about Tina right from the start. but I don't know what Gayathri saw in her. now that girl ran away . My Poor Arjun, what will he do ? as always I trust you Ambi . please look after him."
" maa, are you there? Sameer bhaiya wants to talk to you ?" Riya called me.
I placed the photo frame back into my closet.
"yes. I am coming " I replied and wiped my tears before coming out of my room.
" here it is" she said as she gave me the phone. I took it.
"aunty, everything is sorted out now. Arjun decided to marry Gauri ,Tina's cousin and she too agreed. So, his marriage will definitely happen. Tomorrow morning , they will be in Haveli. I already made the arrangements for you all three come to Rahatpur. Arjun knew about your arrival. " he said.
" but he will be upset if he sees us there" I replied .
" I already convinced him. So, no problem. Even if problem arises, I will manage.moreover it's your son wedding . You have to come. " He said.
" ok then, we will see you there" I said and hung up.
I know he will be angry if he sees us . but how can I miss his important day of life. both Riya and Ajay looked at me in shock.
" mom, are we going there?" Ajay asked worriedly. I nodded. " but he won't even care to " before he finish, Riya said " no point in arguing with her . she won't listen . Also I want to see my bhai's wedding and bhabhi. You too want to.right? Then get ready. Why bother him ignoring us ? "
" you are correct. " he agreed and they both left to pack.
After they both went , Gayathri came in happily priding herself about how Arjun made that girl to agree and saved family reputation. for god's sake, they are doing this to a innocent girl.
" are you invited?" she taunted me as usual.
" well, I don't think a mother needs an invite to attend her own son's wedding. " I replied her .
" maa , maa . Yes , whom Arjun doesn't want . " she smiled evily knowing it hurted me and left to pack.
we started at 6 itself and reached there around 10 . my father in law welcomed us. well, he is the only other soul who loves me other than Ajay and Riya. Ajay was still bit upset on being here whereas Riya was eager to see her bhabhi like me.
Gauri , I think I heard of that name before. But I can't remember where. maybe if I sees her, I can find out. her uncle,aunty and few other relatives all arrived. but no sign of Arjun and Gauri.
On seeing me, Sameer came over and touched my feet. I blessed him and asked him" where are they?"
" well, Arjun was ready but she was sleeping when we started. So, he told us to go first and he will come after she wakes up."
" did he not wake her up?" i asked amused ad he's always too strict and never allowed Ajay to sleep beyond the time when they were young.for him, things needs to be done at that time.
" strangely no. Even I was surprised. her aunt offered to wake her , but he gave his one of famous glares and she was silent since then" he said pointing towards a woman.
surely this girl is something , I thought to myself and went inside.
Gauri's POV:
when I wake up , it was almost 11 am. so,I rushed into the bathroom , finished all my works quickly and came down only to see house empty.
A nice aroma came from the dining room. so I went inside to see breakfast is ready and no one there . Iwas surprised .
he's gone.he's gone.
it's all been my bad dream.
I am about to jump in joy but suddenly a arm wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer. I shivered as I could feel his hot breaths in my back .
I never had any guy standing near me this close. This is kinda weird. I felt butterflies in my stomach.
he turned me towards him and lifted my chin, " sorry to disappoint you .I am not a bad dream to vanish. I am for real so as everything ."
my mouth was hung open and I had to pinch my hand. ouch, it hurts. So, it's real .
" where are others ?" I asked trying my best to avoid staring at him. Yesterday he was in suit, today , in v-neck Tshirt and blue jeans. One word. he's hot.
stupid Gauri, what are you doing? you are drooling at the guy who first threatened you,then shouted at you. What's wrong with you?
" They all left to my place. come and let's eat . I am starving. " he said as he quickly dragged me to the table. he even moved the chair for me.he then placed himself close to me. I think he likes to make me uncomfortable.
I took a bite.
" how's it?" he asked while coming closer , enjoying my discomfort.
" it's delicious. Yummy. I have no problem waking up if I get to have these kind of delicious dishes every morning. By the way, which restaurant?" I asked while taking another bite.
" no restaurant. it's me who made these dishes!" he said and grinned .
so ,Mr.Arrogant can cook.
" you?" I asked in shock.then I composed myself. " I am sorry. I was awake late night yesterday. you could have told my aunt to wake me " I told him.
" it's ok. this will be even nice. only you and me" he replied with a smile. is he really smiling or i am imagining it?
soon we finished eating and I followed him to his car.
" no guards? what will you do if i runs away?" I asked .
" I know, you won't " he said.
" thanks. To be honest, It freaked me out yesterday." I replied. once he started to drive, I decided to remain silent for whatever I say , he becomes angry. I like this version of him better.
suddenly he stopped the car.
" seatbelt" he pointed out . I didn't move or say anything.he himself did it then.
Arjun's POV:
it had been more than an hour since we started, but strangely she's silent and avoiding me .her eyes were fixated on the road .
So, I decided to speak up " is there any problem in your big mouth that you decided to keep it shut today?"
" no, the problem is with you. whatever I say, you just shouts at me . In order to save you from getting high BP , I decided to be silent" she replied.
" so, you care for me . Good to know." I asked her by coming closer . I knew she's feeling nervous whenever I come close. And I like making her nervous and speechless.
" nah, no " she stuttered " just saying" .
as she was enjoying the view of green fields along the side, I slowed down the car. after some time, " stop the car now. " she screamed loudly .
I stopped and looked at her.
" first a scooter overtook us, I thought it's ok. Then a bullock cart and now a cycle. Seriously ?are we going in procession ? I think even a tortoise can move faster than this dumb car "she told me.
" I just thought if I drove slowly , you will be able to see all the surroundings clearly." I said nervously. But why am I nervous?
" oh, really. I was just watching it to avoid talking with you. But if you goes at this speed , we will reach there only at night. So, let me drive ." she replied and asked me to move.
I looked at her suspiciously . she said " don't worry. as of now I have no plans of killing you " I moved away and she drive. I decided to take a little nap and closed my eyes.
" you know what? I felt something weird and strange when I waited to see you for the first time. I also don't know how but when your aunty showed me your picture , I instantly calm down. my brain stopped working and my heart beat was very fast till your eyes met mine. even more faster when you had the discussion with your uncle and aunty." I said looking straight into her eyes.
" oh really, even l felt the same when I saw you " she replied while placing her hand on my shoulder. I smiled but suddenly she started to shake my shoulders and slapped it hard. " ouch what's now ?" I asked.
" you were mumbling something while you slept . so only, I had to wake you. what was that ?" she asked concerned.
" let's not talk about this now ,please" I said while not looking at her. what that all my imagination?
" Are you daydreaming? " She asked me.
" yes, about our marriage" I replied in teasing tone.
" ok, I should have asked this yesterday itself. but I forgot. what's your name?" she asked me .
" don't you think it's weird to marry a guy without even knowing his name." I asked her while smirking.
" not as weird as blackmailing a girl to marry without knowing her." she hit back.
" I get it. whatever you say, I won't get angry on you. " I said . " name? don't tell me you forgot it. if so, look in your wallet where you keep your card and tell me " she replied.
I let out a laugh and said "Arjun , Arjun Singh".
" we are now in Rahatpur as that board says. now where to?" she asked.
" I will drive from here." I said and took it from there. soon we are at my ancestral house.
Gauri's POV:
wow, it's really a haveli . It"s front is adorned with exquisite floral designs and the fountain.
when we stepped out, I saw two women standing at the entrance. one who is standing infront bear no resemblance to Arjun but the other woman looked a lot like him , so I assumed her to be his mother. She looked all good . noone can even think ill about her.
" Arju , " the first woman came and hugged him.
" Gauri , this is my " Arjun said something which didn't reach my ears. I don't know why . but my heart wanted to go towards that woman standing behind. so ,I walked up to the other woman and automatically bent down to touch her feet. she was taken aback but blessed me .when I stood up, she hugged me. I felt loved after a long time.
" you are beautiful just like your mother. be happy always." she said while kissing my forehead. I nodded. how do she know my mom? when I let go of her, I saw two pairs of angry eyes glaring at me.
But why?
