At the Hotel...
A sudden small knock came from the front doors of the hotel, where a demon swaying on their heels stood holding a red envelope in their hands eagerly waiting an answer. Charlie quickly removed her head from Alastor's shoulder and looked up at him, he was staring straight at the doors with wide eyes. In other circumstances, he would have immediately called for his staff but he knew a demon as small as that one couldn't do much damage.
"What the- huh?" Charlie said rising to her feet. Alastor stood as well, towering slightly above her.
"I suppose you should answer it dear," he said. Charlie only changed her view back to the door from Alastor. Nervously, she walked over to the door and slowly opened it revealing the small mail demon before her.
"Princess Charlotte?" They asked. Charlie nodded and they rushed the letter into her hand, before running down the street. She was so confused that there was no room to say anything, she only yelled thank you while shutting the door to stare down at the letter. Alastor walked over to her and stood in front of her, eyeing what she had in her small hands.
He already knew what the letter was, should have told Charlie sooner. Extermination day was tomorrow, and every year the overlords sent out a letter to everyone to prepare them. Alastor had been to the meetings, fights, arguments. It had already been lingering in his mind for weeks, since he knew Charlie hated it so much.
But the princess had no idea what the letter was, so she tore it open with the slice of one of her sharp nails and pulled out the crisp sheet of white paper. "Dear citizens of Hell, you may or not know that extermination day is coming- we advice you to stay indoors all day tomorrow and avoid windows/ open areas... the overlords," Charlie read aloud. Tears swelled in her wide eyes, before she slammed into Alastor bursting with tears. It sounded like someone had cut her arm off she was crying so hysterically. He held her close and stroked her blond head gently, resting his own head on top of hers.
Angel had been coming down the stairs when he saw Charlie crying, and ran over to them worried as ever. "Whats wrong with her?" He said once he reached Alastor's side, looking down at Charlie who was too upset to speak. Charlie headed towards her room, almost running. Embarrassment flooded over her- no one could see her like this! Angel watched, reaching out to stop her but then stopped himself. Alastor walked towards the stairs leaving him there, but then turned around with a sigh.
"Extermination day is tomorrow. Me and you don't need to worry, Charlie doesn't either. But you know how she gets. Tell Vaggie." And with that he walked up the stairs to Charlies room.
Extermination day was a day when the fallen Angels from heaven came to Hell, taking out anyone in their way. It was the way to deal with overpopulation here. While many overlords, Alastor included, liked this idea many others didn't. Lucifer didn't even like it. The big man (God) always gets what he wants though, and no one could do anything about it.
Anyone who played a larger role were guaranteed safety, such as Alastor and Charlie. Even if they were targeted, they had the power to kill an Angel. And since Angel Dust was the most famous porn star, which is a huge industry in Hell, he was guaranteed safety as well. People on the streets would run, try to run, but quickly would be killed. No one ever knew when they would come, the Angels would just show up.
Once Alastor reached Charlies room, he heard the sound of muffled crying on the other side of the shut door. His ears flopped on either side of his head, and he knocked softly on her door. "Go away please," she whispered.
"Its Alastor darling," Alastor said pressing himself against it. Charlie remained quiet, but reached up to unlock the door from where she was sitting (directly next to the door). He pushed the door open all the way before shutting and locking it so no once could see them, and swooped her up placing her on the bed. Snapping, she was changed into comfy clothes and so was he. She had on her usual black hoodie and black sweatpants, he wore a red sweatshirt with black pants. Hers baggie, his looked nice and form fitting against his broad shoulders.
"A-Al? What are we g-gonna do?" She said. Alastor sat down next to her on the bed and wrapped an arm around her, pulling her closer to him. He said propped up against the nicely made bed with the fluffy white pillows, her laying her head on his chest.
"Charlie dear, I know how much you hate this. But we'll get through it. Together, right?" He asked her while rubbing her back.
She only cried even harder. "What if they got you?" She asked. It pained him to hear her ask that question, even see her like this. This was the one thing that ripped her to shreds.
"They won't get me. They're not getting you, either," he re assured her.
They stayed in that position for a while, Charlie cried some more, they talked, watched a movie. Alastor had her wrapped in a fuzzy red blanket, still having his arm wrapped around her protectively until he realized what time it was. The sun was setting, a red glow coming through the windows in Charlies large bedroom.
"Wanna watch the sunset?" Charlie asked, following his gaze. Alastor only smiled down at her, and hopped off the bed heading to the balcony with Charlie hot on his heels. The doors flew open, a small breeze blowing their hair in the air. They walked out onto the balcony, Charlie wrapped around Alastor's arm and stood at the rail of the balcony, watching the sun set over the busy city of Hell. Charlie smiled and hugged Alastor even tighter, he sighed in relief. Relaxation didn't come easy to him, but this was relaxing. Very relaxing.
"Why don't ya say we go out to dinner tonight? We'll be cooped up here all day tomorrow," Alastor said. Charlie smiled at the thought of it. Not many people would be out, due to preparation for tomorrow.
"I'd like that."
In the Lobby...
Vaggie had finally awoken from her long needed nap, and came downstairs wearing a baggy grey t- shirt with black leggings to find Angel slouched over at the bar talking to Husk. She quietly snuck up behind them and yelled, "Hey Bitches!" Angel nearly fell out of his seat, Husk only looking up from his phone on the other side of the counter. "Im guessing the princess got her nap out?" Angel asked sitting back upright in his seat.
"Mhm. I don't usually sleep well, I needed that," Vaggie said.
"You know whats tomorrow, right?" Angel asked. Vaggie shook her head no, and Angel sighed. "Extermination day."
Vaggie's eyes widened. That day was always dangerous for her. She didn't have any big, important role in Hell like everyone else did. At least Alastor, Charlie, and Angel would be there to help her if anything happened. She just knew that there would be no going outside, only staying in the hotel. She sighed, and turned to Angel.
"Great. Anyways, whats on the agenda for tonight?" Angel shrugged. "Nothing. Charlies having a rough time, but she just texted me a second ago and said her and Alastor were going out for dinner. Im not really in the mood to go anywhere though," he said.
"Movie?" Vaggie asked. Angel smirked and nodded, and they headed into the theater to start watching a movie.
"We might was well have a movie marathon, not like we have anything better to do," Angel said. Vaggie agreed, and threw herself over the couches in the theater. The spider demon put in a movie and did the same, opposite of her and they quickly got sucked into the movie.
In Charlies room...
Charlie was getting ready in the bathroom, Alastor had already done his little snapping thing and was in a red shirt with black pants, black slacks crossing into an X over his back. He had on a nice coat, and his hair was nicely groomed, and he sat on her balcony waiting on her to get ready. Charlie had put on a flowy black dress and pulled her hair up into a bun with loose strands falling around her face. She put on a little bit of makeup, not too much, and black heels with black earrings. Once she was finished, she turned out the lights of her modern bathroom and joined Alastor on the balcony. "Ready!" She yelled, tugging at his sleeve. It was dark now, around 7:30, only a faint red glow in the sky. The city was already lit up as usual. Alastor smiled and they walked downstairs, out the front doors, and down the street to Mimzy's.
At Mimzy's...
Alastor opened the door for Charlie and waved his hand for her to go inside. "Hello, what do you want-" the hostess said staring down at her phone, before looking up to see who was in front of her. Her eyes grew wide and she quickly grabbed two menus saying, "Right this way!" She led them to a small booth next to the large windows once again, giving them an amazing view of the city.
The Radio Demon and Princess sat themselves down, the hostess quickly hurrying away. Alastor couldn't help but admire Charlie. He took her hand in his over the table and stared into her eyes, Charlie staring back. "Charlotte Magne, I hope you know that you're an amazing demon. I know you're going through a lot, but seeing that smile of yours always brightens my day," Alastor said. Charlie gave a small cute laugh before squeezing his hand even tighter and leaning in for a short kiss. Their lips met and sparks flew, but they couldn't stay like that for long so they quickly parted.
The waiter took their drink order, and by the time they got to their table Charlie and Alastor already knew what they wanted so they ordered, just to make things quicker. They had both had a long day, from Alastor's meeting with the king to Charlies letter fiasco, all they wanted was to go home. The lovers talked about life, the hotel, tomorrow.
Once their food came, they ate quickly and shared food every now and then trying each others meal's. It was so cute! Charlie would take some of her food and put it on her fork, then hold it up to Alastor's face motioning for him to try it. Alastor would do the same. She would nod, meaning it was good and wanting more. They might as well had just shared a giant dinner. Alastor paid for their meal, then they walked back to the hotel linked by the arm still talking about; well just life.
They got back to the hotel, stepped inside the lobby, and then sadness fell all over Charlie. She had been with Alastor all day, now he had to leave. She had been wanting to ask him if they could move in together, they had been dating for a while now. They hit it off immediately, it would be awkward to ask if they didn't. So at night he wouldn't have to leave her anymore. But she just didn't know how to ask. The two hugged and said their goodbyes, Alastor promised to be back early in the morning. He told her to keep the doors locked and the windows shut, tell all the guests to close their curtains and lock their doors. She told him she would, and they both headed off their separate ways.
