Maid for Stone

"Anyway, so then I hear Wes screaming at this poor helpless girl to stay away from his man," Jordan said. "And that, is how everyone thought he was gay for me for a whole week."

"I was drunk," Wes said defensively. "I stopped counting after the tenth vodka shot! And I regained my masculinity the next night when I did the deed with Sophie." I face palmed myself.

"Oh and then he proceeded to streak through the neighbour's lawn naked," Jordan laughed. "Poor old Mrs. Briggs will never be the same again."

We all burst out laughing. We had attempted to plan a draft for the Medea essay at the library for two hours after Jordan and Eli finished work to no avail. Wes kept making inappropriate comments at everything and anything and Jordan seemed to try anything to get Eli's attention now that they were talking out of working hours. We gave up when Wes complained he was hungry. I knew he was just trying to get Jordan to spend more time with Eli. He gave me a pointed look, prodding me under the table with his foot until I sighed, giving in.

So that is how we ended up here, eating dinner at a nearby diner. I picked up a fry and popped it into my mouth.

"That doesn't beat the time Eli climbed the roof of the house at this party claiming she was superman," I commented, grinning at Eli. "She would've jumped, too, if I hadn't run outside holding a green bottle yelling I had Kryptonite."

Eli blushed slightly as Wes and Jordan burst out laughing. Jordan's eyes twinkled as he looked at Eli, a wide smile on his face. I hoped it was the light and not him falling in love just yet...

"Oh yeah," Eli said, raising her eyebrow up at me as a challenge for betraying her. "Remember that time at your place you cried for a whole hour wailing your pet rock died?"

I put a hand over my face, that memory was still embarrassing. My dad had come home early that night, rushing home because I called him saying there was an emergency. When he'd arrived I ran up to him, hugged him and cried and told him that the rock died. He looked angry for a second, then started laughing. He never let me forget that.

"So you're a weird drunk, huh," Wes grinned.

"And you're a gay drunk," I commented.

"Get me drunk and you can find that out for yourself," he winked at me.

I wrinkled my nose in disgust, "I think Jordan has already been scarred too much by you."

Jordan laughed, "Actually there was this one time. I was sleeping when Wes knocked on my window at four in the morning in nothing but a really short maid outfit. I thought I was in some screwed up dream."

"And you didn't even let me in for another five minutes. My ass was freezing!" Wes exclaimed.

"I regretted letting you in anyway! You barged into the kitchen saying you were going to serve 'master' for the day. I was traumatized!" Jordan shuddered.

"You know, I still don't know how I got that maid outfit," Wes pondered, looking off into the distance in confusion. His forehead was slightly creased and he made this thinking pout with his lips and why was I even noticing this. "All I remember was going to a party and drinking some weird drink my brother's friend gave me. He said it'd get my confidence up."

"A bit too up, if you ask me," I laughed. "I mean, it takes really great confidence to cross-dress like that."

"You would know, it seems," Wes replied.

Jordan and Eli had started a conversation. Looking at them, it would be really great if Eli could just get a steady boyfriend, specifically Jordan.

-

"Well today was really productive," I said sarcastically, wrapping my scarf tighter around my neck. It was twilight outside where we stood, the sky dimming as we said our goodbyes.

"It was!" Wes exclaimed. "I learned that you're a weird drunk and Eli's a suicidal one."

"Says the gay one," I replied. We all chuckled for bit, remembering the story.

"Then I guess I'll see you guys tomorrow," Eli said, pulling her jacket around her more tightly and moving away.

"I'll walk you home," Jordan offered. "You shouldn't be walking home alone at night."

Eli raised her eyebrows at him but didn't object. She walked over to stand next to him hesitantly. She wasn't used to males explicitly caring for her well-being. Her own older brother, Spencer, was often careless in his duties as a brother.

Eli turned to me, "Want to come over to my place?"

"No, I'll drop her off," Wes said, placing a firm hand on my shoulder. I gave him a weird look. "What? Your place is on the way to mine."

"I'm a bit worried as to how you know where my house is," I said, raising an eyebrow.

Wes laughed lightly, waving the topic off. "We'll see you guys tomorrow!" He waved a goodbye at Eli and Jordan before forcefully steering me to the parking lot where he parked his car, a black Nissan 370Z. I approved of his choice of car.

"What is your problem?" I demanded, shaking his hand off my shoulder.

"Giving them an opportunity to blossom their love," Wes pointed out obviously.

"Blossom their love?" I repeated incredulously.

"Come on, get in," he commanded.

"I don't know, this could all be just some plot to get me alone in the car and murder me or something," I replied, still standing outside stubbornly.

Wes rolled down the window in front of me from inside the car. I heard his voice through the darkness, "Honey, if I got you alone in the car, I would do much much more exciting things to you."

I involuntarily shivered, wrapping my scarf closer around my neck. It wasn't the cool wind breezing through my hair that made me shiver, but that low, dangerous, husky tone in his voice as he said that. Thankfully, it seemed he was too busy switching on the car to see me shiver.

"So I probably don't need to give you directions, since you've probably memorized the route to my house," I said dryly, getting into the car.

"How'd you know?" he grinned.

"So are you going to tell me how you know where I live?" I asked.

"Your house is kinda hard to miss, you know," he looked at me sideways.

I blushed in the darkness as he reversed out of the parking lot and headed off the street. It was true, my house was hard to miss. It was the only mansion in the neighbourhood after all. After my mom died, my dad couldn't bear to have anything that reminded him of mom. He threw away everything that was hers, excluding all the things I managed to salvage and hide away in a box in my closet. He couldn't even bear to have her money in his account and so he put all the money she ever owned into the new house and into other new things.

"That's not all, is it?" I looked at him suspiciously.

"Fine," he sighed in defeat. "My dad's the school principle."

Huh, I actually never knew that. How did I not know that? Was I actually living that deep in a hole from society?

"Explains the nice car," I teased.

"Doesn't beat your car though," he whistled as he took a right turn. "I've seen it around. Why do you never drive it to school though?"

"I like morning exercise," I lied. In reality, I didn't like the attention it brought. My dad had brought my Nissan gtr for my 17th birthday. I only reserved it for places that weren't within walking distances.

"I think I'm just going to show up at your place in the middle of the night and steal it from you."

"I think I'd just call security if you came to my place full stop."

"Now, now, that wasn't nice," he said, feigning hurt. "Now I'm really tempted to show up. Maybe even wearing a maid outfit. Yup, definitely doing that."

"Oh, god," I exclaimed horrified, putting my face into my palms.

" 'Oh, god' is definitely what you'll be saying. Moaning, in fact," he beamed over at me arrogantly.

"If I let you take my car out for a ride, would you leave me and my home in peace?"

"Maybe," he pressed his lips into a smile. "You can't stop an idea when it's forming."

"Yes, yes you can, and that idea is not only stopping, it's getting annihilated."

"That's a bit too extreme, don't you think?" he grinned, turning onto my street.

"Not for you, no," I crossed my arms over my chest.

He turned into my driveway, and gave a low whistle as the three-storey house towered over us. You couldn't see into the rooms as the porch and the front door took up most of the view. A fancy large façade. Too bad it was dark inside, no life behind that large façade. I had the third level all to myself. There were French doors from my room opening up to my balcony, overlooking the front of the house and onto the drive way.

"So, see you at 4 in the morning," he grinned.

I pulled out my phone, "I'm putting security on my speed dial."

He reached over, putting his hand over mine, over the phone.

"Okay, okay I get it," he surrendered.

"Good."

"Another night then," he grinned cockily. "After I've stolen your phone would be smarter."

I rolled my eyes at him.

Just then he leaned over towards me. I remained still in shock. What was he doing? He bent his head closer until our faces were inches apart, his nose just skimming mine.

"So do I get a goodnight kiss?" he whispered. I felt his breath wash over me. It was sweet and minty. His grey eyes gleamed in the dark, fixated upon my lips. But his eyes were light and teasing, that gleam showing it was all fun and games.

"I think the chances of me showing up at your place in a maid outfit is higher," I smirked, leaning away and patting his head. Part of me actually just wanted to touch his hair, that soft, silky and messily hot hair.

"Oh, one day you will," he smirked. Did this guy just smirk all day long? Those muscles in his mouth must be pretty sore. He reached beside me, his chest touching my waist. My breath caught, wondering what he was up to now. I heard a click as my door opened.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Kitty," he said, reaching back to the steering wheel.

I grabbed my bag and scrambled out of the car before he could toy around with me any further.

"Goodnight!" he called out into the darkness as I headed onto the porch, waving a hand over my head at him. He stayed for a few seconds longer until I unlocked the door and headed inside. By the time I had switched on the lights inside, he was already gone.

I dumped my bag on the couch in the living room and headed into the kitchen, grabbed a glass of cold water before heading to the couch in the living room. The clock only read 8.30 pm. I pulled my bag towards me, taking out my books. I pulled my Chemistry textbook and notebook in front of me and started studying.

I don't know when I had fallen asleep on the couch, but I think it may have been around 3 am... Well it had been 3 am when I had switched to Biology and had started the topic on the functions of the mitochondria. I don't know how long after that I had fallen asleep. Or when I had heard the front door softly open and close, or whether that was a part of my dreams. Or when I had felt a soft blanket being tucked around me. Or maybe that was a dream too?

Just a little fun chapter with everyone getting a lil closer ;)
