Luna hadn't realised how much she was going to enjoy planning. Since the dress shop, she had been grilling Alex with questions so they could make as many decisions as possible before he went on tour. They were going to start their tour with a performance at Reading and Leeds festival before they set off around the world.
Alex exited the bathroom of their dressing room at Reading festival in a David Attenborough-esque suit. His hair wasn't done yet but he was feeling fierce just with his outfit. He walked out with his arms spread to show it off.
"Alex" Luna laughed at him. He did a spin and ran his fingers through his hair dramatically.
"I think I should wear white at our wedding as well" He teased, looking at himself in the mirror. Luna just admired him, she loved how confident he was purely because she remembers when he had none at all.
"If that's what you would like." She replied. He smiled at her simply before collapsing his hefty body next to hers. Everyone else was chatting amongst themselves while Alex put his arm around her shoulder.
"Haven't played a show in a while." He sighed, "what if I've forgotten how to play guitar." He was joking clearly but Luna still playfully slapped him on his arm to get him to shut up.
"You were playing it yesterday." She pointed out. He chuckled and squeezed her shoulder.
"But that was in front of you, not thousands of people. Playing to you is like breathing, to thousands it's like an asthma attack." He explained in the most Alex way.
"So stop smoking." She added. His eyes lit up with a huge smile on his face.
"That's why I'm marrying you, you can finish my analogies" he beamed. Luna chuckled and kissed him dramatically.
"I hope that's not the only reason, Alexander" she raised her eyebrows. He pulled a face that Luna stared at with such admiration.
"Of course. There's also the fact that I get weirdly turned on by you calling me Alexander." He pointed out. She burst out laughing, playfully hitting him again. "Okay okay, I have to warm up now" He pushed himself off the sofa and walked over to the others.
Katie left Jamie as he started to warm up and sat next to Luna. It was just the two of them on the sofa now, sat in comfortable silence as they watched the four men in front of them start to warm up their vocal cords. Both women sometimes wondered how this was normal for them.
"It's weird without Breana, isn't it?" She mumbled so no one else could here. Luna couldn't agree more.
"I was just thinking that" Luna replied. "Have you spoken to her recently?" She wondered. It was something neither of them had even considered would happen. They assumed Breana would always be around, travelling with them whenever she could.
"I called her the other day but I want to go to LA to see her. I feel like such a shit friend not going immediately." She explained. Luna had realised it had been months and all they had done was call her whenever they could. If her and Alex broke up, she would want them to at least visit her.
"Well, they're going off travelling the world. Why don't we go and visit her?" Luna suggested. Katie's eyes lit up.
"I think that would be an amazing, Lu. I'll book the tickets tomorrow, just let me know when you're free" She beamed. Luna grinned and agreed.
"I'm always free, just let me know when you have booked it and I'll let the bakery know" She informed her. Katie nodded.
"Great, don't forget to tell Alex" She joked, noticing how excited they were getting. Luna giggled and got up to tell Alex, who was now enjoying a margarita.
Suddenly, it hit her, she hadn't been back to LA since her and Alex had broken up. She knew as soon as she told Alex her and Katie wanted to go there that he would tell her she could stay at the house he had there but it might feel weird. Then, her arms were around his neck and kissing him to try and relieve some tension that was building.
"Y'alright darling?" He asked, wrapping his free hand around her.
"Katie and I just had an idea." She told him, watching his eyebrows raise. Her lips leaned close to his ear so Matthew wouldn't hear. "We want to visit Breana in LA while you're on tour" She explained, pulling her face back to see his reaction. He looked deep in thought before his eyes flickered to Matt and then back to her.
"I think that's a good idea. God knows how she's really doing in comparison to what she tells you on the phone" He licked his lips before taking another sip of his drink and then feeding some to her.
"Yeah we want to go relatively soon." She looked back to Katie, who had been joined by Jamie on the sofa. The two still looked like a couple of teenagers in love.
"Can't you wait until we have a free moment or do our show in LA? I want to see her too?" he wondered. Luna sighed, wanting him to be there but she knew that was probably not the best idea.
"Babe, I think it's best if it's just us girls at first. If you're there she'll know he's about and it might make her uncomfortable." She explained. Alex thought for a moment before nodding.
"Okay just make sure you send her my love okay?" He offered. Luna kissed his cheek.
"Of course." She replied, moving her hand down to his bum and giving it a light pat. He let out a low chuckle and kissed her quickly.
"Okay, we've got to go on now." They let go of each other and the men assembled to get on stage. Alex finished his drink before running his hand through his hair in some sort of attempt to prepare himself for the thousands of people waiting for him.
Katie took Luna's hand and they followed the band so they could stand at the side of the stage. It had been dark outside for a while now and it was quite cold. Goosebumps ran along Luna's bare arms as they got closer to the screaming fans.
The boys were laughing and joking around with each other, the sounds of the fans not bothering them whatsoever. Katie put her arm around Luna to try and create some warmth which she greatly appreciated.
"Go on, do your thing" Luna nodded to Alex when they reached the side of the stage. He couldn't help but grin, giving her a kiss to calm the nerves bubbling in him.
"Are you cold?" He wondered, she shook her head but he noticed the goosebumps rising. Immediately he took off his white jacket and put it around her. "Don't go cold on me." He winked. She rolled her eyes, pulling the jacket around her.
"Thank you." She replied politely. "Now fuck off and do your job" she poked him in the chest. He backed away, pulling out some sunglasses before doing a swift turn, placing them on his face and sauntering out onto the stage.
Luna linked arms with Katie, having a 'pinch me' moment as they watched their teenage sweethearts stand on stage together and play a show to so many people you couldn't even see where it ended.
The girls danced to the songs, screaming along to the lyrics while Alex pranced about on stage having the time of his life. It was clearly where he belonged. The crowd were eating him up, enjoying every movement he made and every note that flew out of his throat. Luna wrapped his jacket further around her, knowing a million girls would die to be where she was.
Alex had had his piano positioned so he could see the side of the stage and see Luna as he sang. He would just stare at her and sing and as cliche as it sounded he almost forgot there were other people around him when he did.
"Okay, this one is a new one." He said into the microphone, slightly out of breath. "Never before heard." He added.
Luna looked out at the audience, watching all of their excited faces as they were about to get an Arctic Monkeys exclusive. Not even she knew what was about to come out of his mouth.
"It's called...anyways." He took in a deep breath, his heart was racing like crazy with excitement but mostly nerves. Usually he showed Luna his songs beforehand but he desperately wanted to show everyone this song as it wasn't so much about her as it was for her.
"Just another microcosm somewhere in the ether
Putting a world to rights with Bing Crosby eyes
Oversharing and its bitter aftertaste
Exactly the wrong time in exactly the wrong place
Save it for a rainy day
Baby, you go hard in the paint
It's just another race to anyways"
A smile creeped up on his face, it felt so cathartic to sing it like this. For the first time at this show, he couldn't bare to look up and see Luna's face. What if she hated it? What if she loved it and was crying, then he would cry.
Philanthropic toga party
What a place for both the
Opposite sides of my double life to finally collide
Sharing secrets I was taking to the grave
Nosebleeds from epiphanies I took full in the face
Oh, come all by the fire, babe, let's all participate
In yet another race to anyways
Oh, how's your Mum and Dad been doing with the generation gap?"
His hands glided along the piano with ease, preparing himself for the part that would most likely hit Luna the most.
Yeah, I'm behind my movie camera
I've got my megaphone"
He dared to look up, meeting Luna's bright eyes. She had had her hands clasped onto her face, he couldn't tell whether it was in shock or delight.
"You can call me Alexander
It's nice to meet you all"
Luna's heart shattered at his words, she understood this song was for her but wasn't exactly about her. She adored it.
Listening to the Shipping Forecast
Driving to the airport
Me and the guys
Metropolis ablaze in the rear view
Devising methods to both have and eat your cake
Mmm, just like the ones that Mother Nature used to bake
"You look as if you know exactly what I'm gonna say
Is just another race to
Anyways"
He stopped playing and the crowd cheered. He didn't care though, they could've booed and he still would've had the same fulfilling feeling in his chest as long as Luna was looking at him the way she was.
"Thank you." He said into the microphone and the lights went dark.
Quickly, he had a few seconds to run off stage before the next fast song started playing. Luna watched him run to her and kiss her quickly but passionately.
"Did you like it?" He asked. She couldn't speak so she just nodded.
"Alexander." She gasped through the tight feeling in her chest that just seemed to be getting tighter and tighter. That was all he needed to hear before he ran back on stage with a smile on his face.

Hellooooooo, just a brief message.
So basically I haven't been updating that frequently because I've been preparing and revising for my A-levels 🤡🤡 but due to coronavirus they have been cancelled so that's out the window.
So, that means that I have about 5 months to pretty much focus on writing and creating more stories. I am still going to finish this story at 100 parts because I don't want to make it so long that it becomes boring and I have a whole other book already planned that I'm itching to write.
Yep, that's it. See you soon xx
