Season 1 episode 11

I was on shore leave and spider and I were hanging out at my house i was on the couch and he went to go use the bathroom then he came back with the teddy he gave me a few weeks ago he leaned against the wall and said "you still kept it" i looked at him while still sitting on my couch and said "of course i kept it you gave it to me" we smiled at each other he walked over and sat next to me "are we...?" he looked at me and I looked at him slightly confused "are we what?" he looked at me then said "are we...friends" I chuckled a bit confused as to why he was asking "billy we have been friends for so long nothing's change" except my feelings towards him has we both smile at him then we both got a message saying shore leave has been cancelled we looked at each other then I said to him "shore leave has been cancelled" I heard him say "damn" i looked at him then said as I patted his leg "come one" we got ready and headed for the ship once we got there we saluted and got to our racks and put our stuff away and begun our duties then went to bed
I woke up and spider was on the helm I was off doing my duties when swain came to get me he wanted to check up on me seeing as how my past incident was not long ago as he was done he pulled out an ultrasound and said "what do you think" i laughed picked it up and said "its cute but um...." he started freaking out "what...what's wrong" i laughed and said "what is it" he gave me a look and said "very funny do you know what it is" i smiled a said "a frog" he snatched it out of my hand laughed a little and said "you should be alright boss wants to keep you monitored though" i was confused as to why this happened a while ago sort of "ok thanks swain" i walked out but i poked my head around the corner and said "hey" he stopped what he was doing and looked at me and said "no matter what anyone says that's a gorgeous baby and you will be a great father scar" he nodded and smiled and said "thanks scar" i smiled and left, we got called for a boarding party i always go for the boarding party and i was fine so the CO allowed me to go me,spider,buffer,ET and the xo jumped in the RHIB and we took off the CO was trying to radio the XO but he kept cutting out we eventually got there and we saw the feds the x said "stay put fellas" we sat back down and were a bit confused then x said "Greg,Alicia i take it we interrupted something" x signalled the ship and then we brought them back on board we then had to escort them back to there vessel we then came back and took our stuff off
I was getting some lunch and while i was getting food buffer kept going on and on about how the feds are a bunch of girls and how they wouldn't get half the job done if it were not for us we then walked past swain and he said "hey, what do you reckon" buffer looked down chewing on his food aggressively and said to swain "definitely looks like a peanut swaino" he smiled and i laughed a little "looks great swain" and we went into the wardroom and put our food down and started eating i notice how fast buffer was eating and how aggressively he was chewing then I said laughing "can you chew anymore aggressively" and just to show off he continued chewing aggressively and I laughed after lunch we came along a new cargo ship that was in need of assistance so me the xo,buffer,spider and charge got ready they were lowering something in the the RHIB couldn't exactly tell what it was from where i'm standing the we started climbing into the RHIB and buffer said to charge "getting wet for eh change charge?" I chuckled a little while I was sitting next to spider then charge got into the RHIB and said "dragging me away from my engines someones gonna pay for this" i then laughed and patted his shoulder and said with a pouty face "don't worry charge you will get back to your babies soon" he nudge me off of him and we laughed then buffer un hooked the RHIB and we set off for the pacific investigator we slowly moved the RHIB towards the boat and climbed on then one of the men said "gotta say never expected the navy" the guy in red shook our hands and then we got into single file line x and the captain were introducing each other and then x said after introducing charge "maybe someone can take him down below and assess the damage" the captain nodded and one of his crew took him buffer and spider down below x wanted me to stay up top with her the captain said "sorry about this we had some repairs done in denpasar thought the problem was fixed but it seems i was wrong"..."what's the problem now" the x and the captain were discussing about the ship then once they were done she turned around and radioed the co the co wanted to know how many there were if they had to abandon ship he then said "5 including me this is a nightmare" i looked at him then said "well all that matters is that you guys are safe" he nodded towards my direction i leaned against the boat i was feeling a little hot maybe because i'm still healing from my past incident im not quite sure i ain't no doctor i took my hat of bent down and slowly breath in and out the x finished radioing the co and moved next to me and the guy beside me they were talking then x said "you alright scar" i didn't answer because i needed a minute she got a bit concerned i think "scar?" I breathed out then said "yeah i'm ok" i stood up and put my hat on "I want you to get checked out by swain when we get back." I looked at her and said "x really i'm fine".."that's an order" I nodded and thought to myself {I hate the attention in me or just any attention at all} i bent down again because i kept getting these stupid hot flushed and headaches thought these were supposed to be gone then the others came up i stood up spider started righting something down he stood next to me and noticed me fanning my self with my hat then became worried "you ok" i looked at him and put my hat back on my head so he wouldn't worry poor thing "yeah im fine" we then heard charge telling the master that is the best idea to leave not in those exact words but similar meaning the master was being a little difficult saying he won't leave till she went under i was a little suspicion about why he wouldn't leave i mean valuable thing i get that but most people take there valuable possessions he is dodgy then the xo radioed the CO the CO wanted to have word with enough talk from our CO he agreed and told his crew what to do he went to get his ships papers from the cabin we got them back on and headed for the ship when we got on the x said to swain "she need to be checked out" swain nodded and took me down below he took me into the cabin and did his medical thingy "if you take it easy you should be fine" i nodded and left we got the crew comfortable and chefo was getting a barbecue ready
We were all on deck under the party rainbow lights and everyone was laughing and enjoying the night i was sitting with charge and some other just listening to them ramble on about engineering me having no idea what they are talking about then swain yells out "did you hear that everyone jake reckons i'm having a boy little swain" we all cheered for him and applauded i was happy for him
I couldn't sleep because I was getting sweaty,headaches and not very tired I was leaning on the railing the swain saw me and joined me and said "you not tired" I looked at him smiled looked away and said "nah not really...what about you" he looked at me then said "just nervous about being a father" I smiled and said, "You will be an amazing dad swaino i can guarantee you that" he chuckled then sighed "you will be an amazing mother when you get older scar" I shook my head and said "I don't know if I want to become a mother," he looked at me then said "why" he leaned down on the railing i stood up and leaned my back on it and said "my mum wasn't really around long enough for me to understand what parenthood is, it kinda scares me knowing that I would be stepping into my mother's shoes and I didn't even know who she was" he looked away and said "from what i heard about your mother she was amazing and so will you" i smiled looked down then at him then said "thanks swain" he nodded then after a few minutes of just sitting there talking the master of the vessel that is sinking came up to us and said "can't sleep either" i shook my head and swain said "nah mate to much going on at home" then the master said to us " I understand with me, it's my ship"..."married to your ship, eh?"...."you could say that" he looked over at me and said "what about you" i looked at him then said " headache" he nodded then it went quiet then he said " I don't see your watch about" swain then said "oh no they're there flying bridge, bridge, engine room, they're always there, mate" i then looked at him and said "there's never not a watch person buddy" then i looked over at him and he pulled a gun on us and said "the thing is we need to borrow your inflatable" he then cocked his gun and as soon as swain saw the gun he pushed me behind him i never had a gun pointed directly at me i heard it happen to people but this is the worst feeling ever swain has his arm in front of me so he couldn't touch me i hate when people think they have the need to protect me because i'm a girl but i don't need protecting but at this point i couldn't think i didn't even realise i had my arm on swain holding onto it i then said in a shaky voice "swain" he then chuckled and said "that's not funny mate" then the master said "no it isn't" swain chuckle faded and he then said "ok well let's talk...let's talk then. Wh-what is it that you want?" Swain looked at me and I just stared at the gun i have never been held at gunpoint before but this feels too familiar and I'm honestly shaking inside but keep a strong face on for swain then he said "the inflatable"..."we're in the middle of the ocean. Where you gonna go" then the guy said to us "well, you're gonna find out. We need insurance, and you're it.". Swain looked at me then back at him then said "no you can take me but she stays" then the master then said "no she comes to"...."no" he then pointed the gun higher and yelled "jake" then his mate jake came up behind us with a gun pointing directly towards our heads i turned towards the jake guy facing him then harry came up towards us and said "g'day fellas! Kickin' on are we?" the master then pointed the gun in his face me and swain looked at each other then harry "no one be a hero, richo, get the boat" his crew mate richo went off to get the boat as he was moving us he pointed the gun at swain and me and said "in now?" Swain looked at me then said to the master "no she isn't coming" pushed swain behind me and I said "swain -" and I never got to finish my sentence because I felt this shooting pain go through my shoulder and fell back onto the ground "scar!!" Swain went to go help me but jake stopped him from pointing the gun in his face the master then said "jake grabbed her get her in the inflatable" he then pointed the gun at swain and said "you get in the inflatable" swain looked at me concerned and they forced us into the RHIB swain was in the driver's seat and i was sitting on the side holding my shoulder swain kept glances over to me to make sure I was ok "keep pressure on the wound" the master pointed his gun at swain and said "be quiet" swain then half yelled at him and said "if she doesn't keep pressure on the bullet wound she could lose a lot of blood" he shoved the gun in swains face and said "don't care" the jake dude was on the ship holding harry at gunpoint
The CO leaned over the railing and said "swain what's going on there" the master then said "we're taking your RHIB, your coxswain and female sailor are coming with us,so follow us and you will be fishing their bodies out of the water" he moved out of the way so I could see my CO once he saw me with a gunshot wound I could see something in his expression shift he went from angry to concerned real quick then went to angry concerned then he said, "you don't wanna do that."..."Really?"..."you don't wanna use that gun!" he then said "I already have but here you can have another injured sailor" then the next thing i know harry got shot and he yelled out in pain the CO rushed down the ladder to get to harry and yelled out "harry!" me and swain were watching what was happening then the master of the pacific investigator yelled out "jake let's go" me and swain looked at each other this night has turned horrible and my shoulder is killing me then swain said as boss was holding on to harry "boss,just...just tell sally i said i love her ok?" I looked at swain and felt so bad for him these jerks have done this to him and he might not ever see his wife again oh my god spider what if i don't see him ever again stop thinking like that your a fighter so is swain we will be fine arghhhh my shoulder then out of nowhere the master yelled "let's go! Now!" and shoved the gun in swains face "alright" as we took off i saw boss look dead in my eyes and there was something i saw like a parent like worry and i just wanted him to comfort me in a fatherly figure way i mean i don't understand but I guess because he goes on about him promising my parents about protecting me but it's different this time i felt like i was looking at my dad i don't know i mean come on i just got shot in the shoulder and my parents are not around to comfort me i just ...i don't even know what i'm saying anymore I start getting a little tired as we were driving to the sinking ship swain kept looking at me worrying he didn't say anything because he didn't know what could happen
3rd Pov:
The CO went up to the bridge to tell nav to keep track of the RHIB and then spider came up and said "can we outrun them sir?" the CO shook his head "we're not going to try horst said he'd kill swain and scar if we follow and i don't think he was bluffing" spider looked at him in shock he knew swain was on the RHIB but not scar "wai-wait scarlett was on the RHIB?" he nodded and said "yeah not just that she got shot as well" everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at him then spider he noticed spiders expression of hurt belief "spider she is strong she will pull through" spider looked at him and said "what is she doesn't...what is she dies!?!" he then said to him "seaman webb listen to me that's and order" he looked at him "she is strong if her parents could get through something like this so can her" he nodded then x said "what would you like us to do sir?" the XO said "we maintain radar contact shadow them at a distance until we can get some idea of where they're heading to nav extinguish navigation lights x, darken ship, RO contact navcom tell them to wake up commander marshall, get him on the line"..."he's not gonna like that"..."just do it" then spider said feeling guilty "sir..um..i was on watch but I never expected anything like this to happen"..."none of us expected anything like this, spider"..."i'm..um really sorry, everyone" spider felt extremely guilty his crew mate and his very dear friend of his has been taken and one has been shot he couldn't live with himself if she died and he was on watch while it happened "there's nothing to be gained by blaming yourself,let's focus on the situation at hand" he nodded and said "yes sir i just couldn't live with myself if anything happened to her and-and swain while i was on watch" he then left "x harry's gonna need some morphine it's in my safe" x went to get the morphine for the injured sailor the CO was looking at the radar and said "hang in there swaino where with ya...you to scarlett"
The CO went to go see how Harry was doing he entered and there was chefo, buffer and ET in there helping chefo "how is he?" chefo looked at him "he'll live" the CO nodded "that's good, chefo scarlett's been shot" they all froze because not to long ago she had the secondary drowning incident and still recovering "is she with swaino or on the ship?" chefo looked at him the CO looked him dead in the eye and said "with swain, chefo you need to be prepared for when she gets back" he nodded then chefo realised something "sir she is still recovering from the secondary drowning incident" the CO nodded and said "I know chefo just be prepared for when she gets back" he nodded then he and buffer left he asked buffer to take over swains officer duties and to question the remaining crew buffer was honoured and went to go do his job well swain's technically
Scars Pov:
We eventually got to the sinking ship and the first 2 men climbed on i could walk but i was a bit drowsy because I have blood on my uniform and all over my hands then the master told swain "go on" he looked at him and said "let me at least help her" he motioned towards me I then said "it's alright swain i can handle it myself" I got up almost tripped so swain grabbed onto me "come on we don't have time" then swain said "well you should have thought about that before you shot her...you ok?" I nodded and we climbed on board the sinking vessel "will you just let me quickly deal with her wound" the captain looked down and said "hurry up" swain then ripped my sleeve off thank god i have spare uniforms and wrapped it around my shoulder so it would try to stop the bleeding then he covered it so it wouldn't get infected he said to me "look you have to promise me you'll stay awake ok?" I nodded I felt drowsy before but not really anymore it goes and then comes back all i really feel now is a shooting pain in my shoulder that is killing me right now then swain said "so, you gonna tell us what what we're doing here?" we looked at them then he said "collecting some valuable cargo" but that doesn't make any sense why not bring your valuables with you before then swain said exactly what i was thinking sort of "really? We could've loaded on the hammersley" the jake dude grabbed swain and held a gun to us and the master then said.' "I don't think so, but since you're here you can help us load" I seriously have to learns this guys name not that it matters "what could be so valuable and yet still fit on that RHIB?" he looked at swain then at me and said "take em below jake" he pushed me and swain forward then swain said "look jake you're a father you know what it means to me to get home alive" i looked at jake and I never would have thought he was a father i guess it's true don't judge a book by it's cover i guess then he nudge me with the gun and pushed swain and said "keep walking" never mind feel bad for his kids when they do something wrong geez then swain said "you got three kids your self" I then said to him motioning to him and swain "come on one father to another" swain gave me the thank you look then she shoved us and yelled "shut up!" and moved us down below
3rd Pov:
x,nav,CO, ET and buffer where all up in the bridge and they were discussing about what the other crew members have said "there saying they weren't involved at all sir" then ET piped up from the helm "well that's what you would say isn't it" then buffer looked at him and said "no trust me they're telling the truth..sir..they said that horst was extremely dangerous" he nodded and said "roger" then nav told him that the RHIB is with the pacific investigator and it's about what on that ship then x said "should we move in?".."not yet we can't risk spooking them while they still got swain and scar hostage hopefully they get what they want and move on until then we stay below the horizon and and wait it out" then buffer said "sir scar was shot last night if we don't get to her in time" he got cut off by the CO saying "we will get her home safely buffer and swain no one is dying on my watch"
Scar's Pov:
We were carrying little medium sized box's to the RHIB they were not really heavy it did put a lot of pressure on my bullet wound though but if i didn't help them and swain they said they will shot me and swaino i would rather risk a screwed up arm then having to see one of my good mates die anyway we went back top and swain tripped and out fell little ice cubes well that's what looks like it to me the master walked over to him and cocked his gun in swain face and said "you shouldn't be so clumsy cause now you know to much" he chuckled a little and said "load em" swain picked them all up and carried them back towards the RHIB i went to go move forward but the master stopped me and stuck the gun to my head and said "if you pull anything like that i will shoot you and him you understand" I nodded and walked past him to swaino the master then said "I will be in the radio room setting up a rendezvous with our clients" having a gun held to your head is not fun than jake pulled his gun out and cocked it these guys don't mess around obviously, we were in the RHIB being handed boxes to put down and my arm just shoot through with pain and i let out a little "ugh" the master then pointed his gun at us from the boat and said "hey" i looked at him and said "relax my arms killing me im only moving into a comfortable position" i grabbed another so did swain and he said "you alright" i looked at him and said "i hope so my arm is bleeding and feels like its about to fall off"..."hey no talking hurry it up" me and swain looked at him and then grabbed another and put them down then i notice swain twist the valve on the air thingy i forgot the name of it so it releases air from the RHIB i looked at him and he looked at me i nodded at him and we climbed back on board then the master said "take them below and tie them up" to jake he cocks his gun and grabs us wait a minutes oh god no no no i don't wanna drown the one of my biggest fears
We got down to the stairs and the master was looking down at us while we were looking up and swain said "your actually going to leave us down here" then the captain said "tradition says someone has to go down with the ship and I'm no longer available" then he walked off he pushed me and swain into the room and tied me to one side of the poll and swain to the other then swain said to him "mate what are you doing? This boat is going down fast we'll drown here?" he looked at swain and said "you heard the boss" i looked at him and yelled well half yelled "you can't seriously let us drown here you don't have to tie us up he will never know arghhh careful" he tied really tight and I think the bullet went further in it killed then swain said "mate..my baby you saw the ultrasound do you really want my kid to be an orphan grow up without a father? Do you really want that on your conscience?" I looked at him and said "come on at least let him go this is his child we are talking about" then jake looked at me and said "what do you expect me to do?" Swain then yelled "well at least tie the knot loosely so we can get out of here once you guys are gone" i looked at jake and said "please jake if this happened to you, you would want someone to do the same wouldn't you"..."mate it's no skin off your nose horst will never know" then out of nowhere horst i'm guessing is the guys named called out for jake "come on,let's go!" Swain said "jake" he didn't reply he only tied the knot which pulled on my arm "ugh" I looked up and said "jake,jake please" he walked out "jake!!" he closed the door on us and I slammed my head on the pole out of frustration
I was trying to get the knot undone I stopped for a minute my arm was killing me and I was getting extremely tired i have lost a lot of blood "i'm so sorry swain"..."why this isn't your fault" it went quiet then I said "swain are we gonna drown"..."no we are not going to drown i promise you" "i don't wanna drown swain i don't wanna drown".."hey we are not gonna drown i promise" I was feeling extremely tired and couldn't keep my eyes open so i said "swain i can't keep my eyes open" he tried to move to see me but it wasn't working "scar keep your eyes open ok we will be fine" the water was rushing really quickly and it was now to me stomach swain was his waist he was trying to get the knot untied be he kept yelling "come on, come on, come on" it wasn't working we just stopped trying all together if we gonna die down here i never got to tell spider i love him i have been hiding this for ages now and haven't said it i should have said it earlier but i didn't my good spider he is probably worried sick i wish he was here i would just hug him so tight he wouldn't be able to let go i miss him
The water started rising to our necks and i said "swain" he kept trying to get the knot undone but it wasn't working, "don't worry scar" he was rising fast "swain.....swain.....swain" he kept grunting and yelling angrily i yelled swain one last time "swain please" and i went under and tried to hold my breath I didn't want to swallow water but it was to late and I was out
3rd Pov:
The CO called for boarding stations and they carried on the sea boat and got to the sinking vessel and climbed on buffer and the x went inside the vessel and buffer yelled "swain, scar!!" "swain,scar!" he notice the door closed and said "ma'am that door was open before they have got to be in there" buff jumped down and tried to get the door open it took a lot of strength but he got it open and yelled for them "swain,scar!!" he swam in a notice they are both tied to a pole he untied swain first and pulled him up swain looked at buffer and said "scar get scar" he untied scar while swain caught his breath scar got pulled up and buffer tried to wake her up she opened her eyes and coughed up all the water
Scars Pov:
My shoulder was killing me and it was nice to see buffer i coughed up all the water and buffer said "just take a breath put your head back I've got ya" he pulled me and swain out and said "got them" i heard x say our names "swain, scar" they pulled us onto the stairs and as buffer pulled me up my wound was showing and hurting "argh" we caught our breath on the stairs, they kept saying "you're alright" over and over again I was in pain and out of breath then I heard someone call for buffer then x said to buffer "buffer keep pressure on her wound" buffer grabbed me carefully and put pressure on my wound he said in a whisper "your alright scar your alright catch your breath....you good swain" he nodded once we got our breath we got up and climbed up the stairs I saw the one person I have been meaning to see he looked at me surprised and happy that i'm ok i'm glad to see him as we were climbing in the tiny said behind me "glad your ok" i smiled we got back to the ship and swain and went to go to talk to the CO about what happened i was in the wardroom while chefo was dealing with my wound he then said to me "i'm surprised all that moving around and it didn't hit any arteries i'm impressed but you will have to do light duties for a while" i smiled and said "thanks chefo" he rubbed my head and said "glad your back kiddo" he got up and as he was walking out someone knocked on the wall he said "looks like you've got a visitor" i looked up and saw spider he sat down opposite me and said "you don't understand how guilty i felt" i looked at him in his beautiful eyes and said "it's not your fault spider"...."yes it is you got shot on my watch if you had of died while i was on watch i wouldn't be able to handle my self" i reached out for his hand and held it and said "hey look at me i'm sitting here ok yeah i got shot but i mean it was bound to happen it will probably happen many more times maybe more injuries along the way but i will never be your fault" we smiled at each other the whole time then I broke the tension and said "you know the whole time I was down there i was only thinking about you" he looked at me then said "really?" I nodded and said "yeah if i had of died without saying goodbye to you it would be the worst thing in the world" I wanted to give him a hug when the boss knocked and we immediately removed out hands "i thought i could have a word with scar?" he nodded and left, he sat down where spider sat and said "just wanted to check on you make sure your ok?" I nodded and smiled and said "I'm fine chefo did a pretty good job at fixing me up so im ok" he then said "that's good.....you know scar when i saw you sitting in the RHIB with a gunshot wound i thought i had failed you I promise your parents i would keep you safe and i didn't...scar i think of you as my own child" i looked at him and said "you have never once failed me since my parents death you have always been there for me looked after me I couldn't have asked for a better father figure than you" he smiled and said "it's good to see you okay scar" I nodded "come one you and swain are going to help me find these guys" I laughed and followed him up top
Me,buffer,CO,XO and swain were up top on look out for these guys, I had to use one arm because it was too painful to hold up both then out of nowhere said said "sir, horst two offsiders" we all looked his direction then the CO said "he's ditched them - excess cargo stand by to recover them x and secure them soundly" x then said "aye sir" so did buffer then swain notice the RHIB and said "and there's the RHIB sir dead ahead" I notice his gun and said "his still armed sir" the CO patted swain on his shoulder as he leaned his arms out onto the railing and boss nodded at me and left "nice job swaino" he smiled and me and said "hows your shoulder I've been to busy i haven't had a chance to look at it" ..."it's alright swain chefo looked after it but i'm on light duties" he looked at me and said "that's going to suck for you" i looked out to the RHIB and said "i could use the rest anyway"
Me and swain were on middle deck next to ET he was on one side I was on the other buffer was asking to see horst weapon he got up and pulled it out and buffer said "place the weapon on the deck sir" and he did i hated this man buffer cleared his gun and horst climbed aboard and once he was on the ships deck buffer told him to move forward and he looked up to me and swaino i smiled and swain said "thanks mate" I nodded
I was sitting with spider,ET, buffer,chefo and swain we all were just relaxing which is what I needed then ET said "gonna suck being on light duties won't be able to go on any boarding parties" i looked at him like seriously dude "don't remind me ET" some of the guys chuckled then spider said next to me "just don't get shot ever again" i looked at him and smiled and said "can't make any promises" then we got word that we were heading for bright island and the boys had to get ready for a boarding party which i couldn't join which is annoying and ET and chefo popped their heads in the doorway and said "scar you coming...oh wait" then ET said, "you can't" I chucked a pillow at their heads and they walked away laughing i got up to pick the pillow up and i didn't realise spider was still out side the door and i was a little confused and said "hey what you doing shouldn't you be getting ready" he looked at me and said "yes but have to hug you first" we had a nice warm and cosy hug "what was that for" he looked at me and then said "i wanted to do that ever since i found out you got shot" then buffer called for "spider!!" I laughed and said "you better go" he kissed my forehead and left i love that big goofball just don't have enough courage yet to tell him
(hey guys sorry this is so long I just had a lot to put in, scar will be off her light duties next episode so she will be in on the action, I'm trying to not rush spider and scar's relationship i want it to be perfect but there will be a few hiccups along the way so yeah sorry this took so long and hope you guys enjoyed it if you have any questions feel free to ask)
