Preeta got up and said: hume chalna chahiye...bohot dair ho gyi hai...
Karan too got up and held her hand.
He pulled her towards him and preeta was uncomfortable with their proximity.
Preeta: karan choro mujhe...
Karan(softly): kiun preeta? Tumhe kuch feel nahi hota..jab mein tumhare aas paas hota hoon?
Preeta(not meeting his eyes): yeh kesa sawal hai karan?
Karan: mujhe jawab do,,tumhe kuch feel nahi hota jab mein tumhe touch krta hoon(tucks her hair behind)
She wanted to go away but she couldn't. She didn't know why?
Karan: ya phir mein yeh kahun k aaj se pehle tumne kisi ko bhi apne itne qareeb nahi aane diya? (He whispered in her ear)
He saw that she had closed her eyes.
Karan: farq parhta hai..tumhe preeta...
Preeta felt something that made her stand close to him. She knew that she has to step back but she couldn't. But why?
Tears start forming in her eyes. Karan saw it and loosened his grip on her.
Karan: mein car mein wait kr rha hoon...ajana
He left her in confused state.
A lone tear escaped her eye. She wiped it and left.
Their whole journey to home was silent. Karan noticed that because of him, she's quiet.
They reached their home and preeta got down silently. She went to her room and karan followed her.
Karan: preeta?...
Preeta: haan?
Karan came to her and held her hand.
Karan(smiles): wo kya hai na babydoll..mujhe tum is tarah nahi pasand...i mean khamosh si..
Preeta looked at him.
Karan: to is liye jo howa usse bhool jao....
(With attitude): you know that I'm the karan luthra...kabhi bhi kuch bhi bol deta hoon...
She chukled.
Karan: tu is liye,,,,give me a smile...
Preeta smiled and they laughed.
Preeta hugged him and smiled.
Preeta: aaj k liye thank you, looser..
They broke the hug.
Preeta: good night....
Karan: good night...
(In mind): mein nahi chahta preeta k hamari yeh dosti bhi kharab ho jaye..
She left from there.
Karan(in mind): mein tumhe force nahi krun ga preeta, mein chahta hoon k tum khud realize kro...
He left. And that night preeta was thinking about his words.
At midnight, she woke up and went to kitchen to bring water for herself.
She was passing by his room when she heard the sound of coughing.
Preeta: yeh kon hai?
She went towards his room and came to know that it was him. She came near him and touched his forehead.
Preeta: is ko tu fever hai...ab kya krun...sab so rhe hain....
Then she called their family doctor and he came.
Preeta: doctor, plz dekhiye na,,,achanak se fever kese ho skta hai...abhi thori dair pehle tk tu theek tha...
Doctor: aap rukiye...mein dekhta hoon...
He checked him and said: pareshan howe wali koi baat nahi hai...throat infection ki wajah se fever ho gya hai....
Mein ne medicines likh di hain...subah tk aaram a jaye ga....
Preeta: thank you doctor...
He left and preeta sat beside him.
Preeta: itni raat ko mein kahan se laon medicines....
That whole night she kept cold strips on his forehead to reduce the fever. And after sometime she slept holding his hand.
At morning, karan woke up due to sunrays. He felt someone holding his hand. Preeta was sleeping on a chair beside him.
Karan looked at her. How can someone be so pretty and innocent at the same time.
Karan: preeta...
He saw a bowl of water kept on nightstand.
She woke up and saw him.
Preeta(concerned): karan, tum theek ho na? Ab kesi tabiyat hai?
Karan sat up and said: mein theek hoon, preeta...lekin tum yahan?..
Preeta: kitni baar kaha hai k apna khayal rakha kro...pata hai kitna tez fever tha tumhe raat mein...
Karan: lekin ab mein theek hoon...relax
He asked her to sit beside him.
Karan: tum raat se idhar hi ho?
Preera nodded.
Karan: dumbo...kya zaroorat thi...
Preeta: zaroorat thi karan,
Karan chukled.
Karan: itni fikr hai meri?
Preeta: sab se zyada...
Karan was about to speak something...
Preeta(smiled): ab thanks mat bolna....
Karan saw her and laughed.
Karan(nods his head): dumbo...
Preeta: ab utho aur fresh ho jao...mein tumhare liye breakfast lagati hoon....
Karan(bowed his head): aap ka hukam sar aankhon pr..
Preeta laughed and then left.
Karan(in mind): I'm so lucky to have you in my life, babydoll.
He went downstairs and all were gathered in dining hall.
Karan: good morning..
Rakhi: good morning beta...
He was confused as no one was asking him about his health. Preeta understood what he was thinking. She signed him that no one knew.
Sarla: preeta, bohot acha banaya hai...
Preeta: aakhir beti kis ki hoon....

That day was passed by as usual.
Preeta decided to check karan whether he's fine or not...
She entered his room. He was sitting on his bed, engaged in some thoughts..
Preeta: karan...
He turned and said: haan kya?
Preeta: kya baat hai?.aaj wese hi bethe ho?
Karan(smiles): bas aise hi...
Preeta(teasingly): oh...tu smile arhi hai..haan?....kon hai wo jis ne is looser k khayalon pr qaboo pa liya hai....
Karan(looking at her): bas hai koi....pyaari si...masoom si....jis ko khud nahi maloom k wo kitni khoobsurat aur pure hai....
Preeta: oho....tu baat yahan tk puhunch gyi hai...
Karan(smiles): bilkul....
Preeta: tu wo pyaari si jo bhi hai....us ko bhi tumhare baare mein pata hai kya?
Karan: haan pata hai na...infact bohot ache se jaanti hai mujhe....
Preeta: tu phir kya problem hai?
Karan: bas uss ko realize krne ki dair hai...
Preeta: hmm.....interesting...
She came and sat beside him.
Preeta: tu is se pehle dair ho jaye....tum usse apne dil ki baat batado...
Karan: wo mein nahi kr skta...
Preeta gave him confused look.
Karan: actually, mujhe yeh nahi pata k wo bhi same feel krti hai ya nahi...tu yeh na ho...k agar koi chances ho bhi...tu wo bhi na rhe...
Preeta: kaafi smart ho tum..looser
Karan chuckled.
Preeta: phir mein dua krti hoon k wo tumhe jald mil jaye...
Karan looked at her and smiled: mujhe poora yaqeen hai...babydoll....
Preeta: acha wo mein poochne ayi thi keh tum ne medicine le li na?
Karan: oh...wo tu mein bhool gya...
Preeta: kya yr tum bhi...hr kaam mujhe hi krne parte hain..
Acha ruko mein le k aati hoon...
She stood up and karan pulled her towards him to say something but due to imbalance, she slipped and fell on him.
They were lost in each other.
Karan tucks her loose hair strands behind and said:
Karan: preeta arora, iraade tu naik hain na tumhaare? Maarna chahti ho mujhe?
Preeta: yeh fazool batein agar tum ne aaj k baad nikali na....tu dekh lena...
She got up and he also got up.
Preeta: kya krna chahte the tum?
Karan: yr mein pehle mazaak kr rha tha..actually mein ne medicines le li hain...
Preeta(irritated): kya? Tum ne mujh se jhoot bola?
Karan(laughs): kya hai na babydoll....mujhe tumhe tang krne mein bohot maza ata hai....tu socha k mazak kr loon...
Preeta was hell angry now.
He saw her and said: acha acha sorry...pls ab aisi shakal mat banao yr...
Preeta: acha,,,you're sorry?
Karan: haan,,sach mein.
She came near him and hugged him.
Karan was confused.
She broke the hug and laughed seeing his face.
Karan: tum ghussa nahi thi...
Preeta: nahi....ab tum se larne ka dil nahi chahta...
They both started laughing like there is no worry around them.
Karan: jao ab....I'm perfectly fine...
Preeta: kuch bhi chahiye ho...tu bula lena...
Karan bowed and said: jo hukam...
She chukled and said: goodnight....
Karan: goodnight...
She left.
That night she was thinking about his actions and words that she's so lucky to have him in her life.
