Edit: OK!! I'm editing this chapter, but I'm too lazy to completely fix the storyline. Maybe later, lol. Right now, I'm just sprucing up the everything and trying to lessen the jumps from present tense to past tense. But these few chapter in NO WAY describe my writing skill. So yeah. Just.. It gets better, kay? Also, I've improved a lot since writing the first bits of this book. Around chapter 25, things get a lot better.

*Flashback*
I gaze into the abyss. There's not much to it; Just a hole in the ground. This will be my deathbed; I doubt they'll care enough to fish out my body. Ever since my powers started showing, society has disowned me. My friends were told to stay away, and my family locked me up. Then the restarts began. Every two months or so, I would wake up the day after I was locked in my room. Sometimes, time even seems to go backwards. But I blame that on insanity. I call these time jumps 'Restarts'. It's been going on for a while, now.. 37 times, to be exact. And no one remembers it but me.

In a lot of the restarts, I commit suicide. Different ways everytime. And I remember it all. This time, I'm planning on jumping off of the mountain in the woods behind my house. I take a breath in. The smell of fresh pine needles lingers. It's not an unpleasant scent. It'll do for being the last thing I smell before I die.

I use my newly trained powers to teleport to the edge of the mountain. I turn, planning to fall backwards. By now, my self preservation has dwindled down, so I don't hesitate much. I take a last breath of pine needles before leaning back. I  F A L L  D O W N..

The smell of pine needles lingers from the surface, filling you with  F A I T H.

I can't die.. Not again..
*End of Flashback*

I land on an unusually soft bed of flowers, my body seemingly absent of injuries. I sit up quickly, glancing around. Other than the greenery surrounding the buttercups, the room that I'm in is barren of decor, its walls an ominous black. There's a door here, its yellow frame a welcoming splash of colour. I hesitantly teleport up to it, peering into the next room. It seems to be the same. I light a flame on my hand, hesitantly stepping through. Once I reach the middle, a flower sprouts out of the dark flooring.

"Hiya! I'm Flowey. Flowey the flower! You must be new to the Underground! Boy, you must be so confused!" The yellow flower begins to speak, making me stumble backwards. I glance at it suspiciously.

"Here, I'd better show you the basics. Let me get out your soul." He concentrates for a second, then a pink heart-thing seemingly emerges from my chest. It has a light pink base, a (F/C) aura surrounding it. There are numerous cracks plaguing its delicate nature. The streaks are strewn haphazardly about my soul, filled with dull, gold streaks.

"Hmm.. That's weird.. You have an aura.." Flowey stares intently at the floating heart. I give him a look, unhappy with the way he's studying my core of being. I'm not sure why, but it makes me feel exposed. The cracks cloud over, making my soul look much prettier. He glances at my eye, which lights up involuntarily.  A wave of realization wrinkles his features.

"Hah.. You must be a hybrid.. Those are rare.. Well, anyways! That changes nothing. I still need to give you.. Advice!" He smirks. "Down in the Underground, we power up our souls with LV, otherwise known as LOVE. Down here, LOVE is shared through little white.. Friendship pellets. Here, have some!" By now, the smirk has grown into a full blown evil grin. I hesitantly reach out to claim one of these 'friendship pellets', not fully trusting this.. Creature.

"You.." As soon as I touch it, it carves a hole through my flesh in a perfect oval shape. "Don't think I can't hold my own." I summon a circle of flames, as well as laser beams. I levitate the yellow flower into the enclosure, creating a ceiling. "This'll do. Never do that again. This cage will open in a week.. Consider it a grounding session." At this, Flowey pouts, pathetically attempting puppy-dog eyes.

"C'mon.. You're no fun."

"Life isn't fun for creatures who torture.. Innocent children, such as myself." I smirk at him, slightly amused by his sentence. Flowey scowls, disappearing into the ground. Right, I forgot he can do that.

I teleport into a random location, unsure of what awaits me in this unfamiliar world. I stumble forward, the transportation taking out an unusual amount of my energy. I gaze around, slightly dazed.

I seem to be in a snowy forest, a clear path in front of me. A large, purple door stands behind me. I try to open it, but to no avail. I decide to instead follow the path, and rely on my instincts instead of my magic. Maybe everyone down here is evil, like that flower. He said that being a hybrid was rare. Perhaps other monsters will want my soul- That certainly seemed like his intention.

I hear a twig snap under my feet, which startles me somewhat. I teleport in front of it, flame at hand. When I notice no immediate threat, I continue on my way, glancing warily behind me from time to time. I pick up my pace slightly, the forest eerily silent.

I reach an old, wooden bridge, widely spaced wooden columns holding it up. I prepare to teleport away when my body freezes up. I panic, unable to move. My eye and hand both light up, trying to prepare for any immediate threats. A hooded figure emerges ominously from the forest.

"Hey, kid.. Don't you know how to greet a new pal? Turn around and shake my hand." The voice is deep and raspy, like a trombone or a tuba. His body preportions indicate that he's short, though he stands a good 2 inches taller than me. I hesitantly shake his hand, which is surprisingly soft and warm. A farting noise fills the forest. (I was quite cringey, and me writing 'A farting noise fills the forest' genuinely made me laugh, so I won't change it lol.)

"Heh.. The whoopie cushion in the hand trick. Works everytime." He looks at me. "Hey, kid.. Why are your eyes like that?" Crap.. Now he knows. I rush to come up with an excuse.

"Um.. Contact lenses! Yeah, my friends have them, too. Also, I'm Y/A. Not exactly a kid, if you ask me." The stranger looks at me with suspicion.

"Right." He looks as me dubiously, clearly suspicious. "Well, my name's Sans. I'm supposed to be on watch for humans, though.." He looks at my body, making me feel self-conscious. "You aren't human, are you?"

"W-What do you mean? I-" He cuts me off.

"Oh, I can sense it. Now, summon your soul." His eye sockets turn empty. His eyes, pitch as black, bore into mine. I hesitate, not sure what to do. What if this guy is like Flowey, and I can outsmart him? Then again, he seemed fairly powerful, with freezing me and all.. "I don't have all day, kid." He gives me a humorless chuckle. I.. No. I won't take the chance.

"Give me a good reason why." I cross my arms, glaring at him.

"Fine. I'll do it myself." The skeleton- Sans, I suppose- Concentrates for a second. The bright, heart-like thing from before lights up the area with its strange glow. The (F/C) aura dances around it, shimmering on the surface. The scars have been replaced with a white sheen again.

"F/C, eh? That's your magic colour?" Blue flames surround my soul, pulling me and it closer to Sans. I overtake the fire, surrounding it with F/C flames of my own. Sensing danger, I teleport out of the area, landing in front of a bar. There is a frostridden sign saying 'Grillby's' on the front. I hear a whoosh, and bright blue flames light up my vision.

"Can't get away that easily.. Now you're going to cooperate.. You don't want a bad time, do you?" I jump at the dark undertone of his baritone voice. I light up my hand and eye, trying to look threatening.

"I doubt you'd be able to hurt me. I'm not a weak little girl anymore." I glare, trying to steady my voice. His eye sockets turn empty once more.

"Want to test that little theory of yours?" He hisses, approaching.

"Why, by all means!" I force a wide smile onto my face, holding out my arms. "List a time and a place, and I'll-" He sends a blue bone flying towards me. I freeze, not expecting an attack. Luckily, the bone goes through me.

"How do you know that?" Sans scowls, glaring at me dangerously.

"Magic." I do jazz hands, taking the opportunity to look superior. A look of discouragement crosses his face. "Now, if you don't mind, I must be going now. There's a bar here and.. Well, after all that's happened, I sure could use a drink." I strut into the bar, leaving Sans in the snow. What a jerk. Is everyone here evil or something? Once again, blue flames light up my vision.

"Just.. Tell me what you are." His face is knitted into one of defeat and anger. Guess he's just used to beating people up without them fighting back.

"Why gladly, Mr. Sans." I bow mockingly, which he scowls at. "My name is Y/N L/N. I hail from H/T, and I have no freaking clue what I am." I say. And it's true, in part. I know that I'm a monster, I just don't know what or why. I make my way to the front of the bar, plonking down on a barstool.

"No.. You've never been here before. Nothing's ever different; you did something. And why isn't the kid here?" He pins me to the wall with bones, knocking over the barstool in the process.  "What did you do to them?" Sans roars, preparing to launch bones at me. I teleport out of his trap with ease.

"Why Mr. Sans, I have no clue what you're talki- Wait. Did you mention.. The restarts?" It takes me a while to make the connection, mainly because he called them something different.. Resets, or something.

"Heh.. You know about them. I knew it. Why are you here." He demands, slamming his hands on the counter.

"I. Have. No. FREAKING. Clue." It's now that I realize every eye in the bar is on us. I motion to Sans, indicating that we're being watched. He gives me a sheepish look.

"Ok, ok. I'm sorry. Just.. You've never come up here before.. It was always that kid. Everything's been the same for so long, so I guess I'm automatically suspicious of anything new." He murmurs, giving me a sideways glance.

"It's cool. To be honest, I don't know why I'm only now down here. I decided to mess around.. And I woke up in a pile of flowers. And I totally get why you didn't trust me. After 37 restarts, you get a little paranoid." I say, trying to seem friendly. I don't want any enemies, and this guy seems fairly nice.. Other than the whole trying-to-kill-me thing. And he can tell me more about the restarts. (OK, This is an edit. I won't change this, but JESUS FUDGING POOP, (Y/N)!! DON'T TRUST A STRANGER WHO'S TRYING TO MURDER YOU!! My writing was just.. Blehurghanspiel.)

"You seem innocent enough." He cracks a smile. "Sorry for.. You know.. Assuming that you're evil and all.. How about I buy you a meal to make up for it?"

"Sure." I smile back, extinguishing the glow in my eyes.

"So.." He coughs awkwardly. "You said that your name is Y/N?"

A/N:
This is my first Undertale fanfic. I hope it's satisfactory! If anyone is reading this, please leave a comment saying what you want. Because I am shit at coming up with ideas. Hope you like it! Keep singing! *Catchphrase in progress*

(Edit: SO THERE YA HAVE IT, THE FIRST CHAPTER! I haven't heavily edited it, but it is significantly better than before. Once I'm done the book, aka after summer break, I'll go back and make it less crap.)
