Alastor did drive with Fiona to his workplace which is around 25 min. away from the Café by car. If you would walk to his workplace it would take around 3 hours until someone does arrive there. That's why he did buy a car to be not that much stressed out. Alastor could also have gone to Café Bella which is even closer to his workplace but he didn't want to be close to his workplace because of Betty. He did know her too well, that's why he does take the time to drive far away from his workplace while his breaks. Fiona's school is also closer to the Café du Monde. So the chance to see here there would be higher than the Café near his workplace. Fiona was looking out the window with a sad face. She looked like she wasn't really present. He knew that this was normal because she lost her little brother which she couldn't protect. He did understand her very well. He was also like this after his mother passed away. "I'm sure my colleges will be surprised that you're coming with me to the Radio Station.", then he started to have a talk because the silence made him a bit crazy. "I hope that I won't be a burden for you or that I get you in trouble...", she said very worried and did regret to ask him if she could stay with him. "It's alright. Our boss isn't there and Betty has her day-off today. So nothing to worry about.", he does cheer her up and does look forward to it. Then he was parking in the parking lot of the Radio Station and helped her to get out of his car. Alastor did take her hand and walked with her inside. Some of his colleges were surprised to see him with a girl. But even more, did surprise them who that girl is. Dolly another co-worker of Alastor who always brings him the papers for the news was also surprised to the adoptive daughter of judge Blair. "Alastor dear, how does it come that you bring a girl to the Broadcast and then it's also the adoptive daughter of judge Blair.", she asked him curious and with a very bright smile. He only did wave off with his hand and that she shouldn't make such a big drama out of it. "Please stop... Miss Fiona told me that she lost her brother.", he does whisper to Dolly and now she did regret what she just said. "Oh I didn't know...", she felt sorry but Fiona did try to smile it off. "How about you get back to work Al and I will show Miss Bach around.", Dolly suggests and doesn't accept a no. "Is it really okay?", Fiona asked a bit nervous and wasn't sure about it. "Of course it is. Betty is not around so there will be no trouble.", Dolly said and took Fiona's hand showing her the Broadcast while Alastor did go back to his work.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we just got the news that the police found another victim of the crazy serial killer. The victim is a young blonde woman who must have been tortured to death and some of her limbs are also missing. The police are unable to identify the found body. It's still unknown who this mad man is that feeds on human flesh.", Alastor was reading the big news of the city. No one knows who this crazy serial killer is. Then Fiona did just come back with Dolly from the little guiding tour of the broadcast. "What do you think about this mad man Miss?", Dolly suddenly asked her, "It's so scary. Most of his victims are women around their 20s and 30s." Dolly started to shiver and looked at Fiona. Alastor was turning off his mic and playing some Jazz music. "Dolly please...", Alastor said angrily to Dolly which just remembered Fiona's loss. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to ask something like this after you have lost an important family member.", Dolly apologized to Fiona. "Maybe he has lost everything and had not an easy life like me.", she said then with a sad smile, "Maybe it's better if I go now or I will be in trouble.", the redhaired girl said but Alastor stops her from leaving after he does grab her left upper arm. She looked at him in surprise. "It's better you stay till I finished work and bring you to your school.", he does suggest to her. "He's right. It's too dangerous for a young girl to walk the whole way back to your place all alone.", Dolly did agree with Alastor and that Fiona should stay until he did finish his work, so he could drive her back to her dorm. Fiona really didn't want to bother them any longer but they were also right. "Ok, I will stay and then get back to the dorm.", she said then. Dolly and Alastor were happy that she did agree. He didn't know why but he wanted her to be safe. "What is this feeling?", he was thinking to himself and continued his work. He already had some dates with women and also is no longer a virgin. He wished that he was able to change his past but sadly he couldn't.
His mother was a wonderful and kind woman who always did smile. "Alastor, you're never fully dressed without a smile.", she often told him. Even after his drunken father did beat her up she did still smile. He missed her and loved her so much. After she had passed away he was forced to sell his body to older men and women to stay alive. He hated it and that's why he doesn't like to be touched by anyone but if he does touch someone then it's okay for him. His body has many scars from his past and what he had to go through. "Alastor are you alright?", he suddenly snapped out of his thoughts about his past after Fiona asked him if he was alright. Alastor did drive her back to her school after he finished his work. Then they were walking the rest of the way. He didn't want the teachers to see his car and think that he tried to seduce her or so. "I'm fine. I just did remember something.", he answered her and smile bright, but she had the feeling that something bothers him and that he doesn't want to talk about it. She didn't ask him what he was thinking. She was sure with the time he would tell her on his own. "Thank you for taking me back to school.", she said smiling at him after they reached the entrance of her school. "Good night.", she said before leaving and does waving her farewell then she went to her dorm. Some girls did see them and wanted to know who he is and what kind of relationship they have. Fiona looked mad at them and remembered these girls that these questions are improper after she lost a family member. They still wanted to know but Fiona wasn't the kind of girl who would start a love relationship while her little brother died a while ago. The next day one of the teachers did ask Fiona where she has been and when she did come back to the dorm. "I just got the message that my brother passed away. Can't you understand that I need some time for myself?", Fiona asked them and so the teacher couldn't say anything anymore about it. Fiona was right now very sensitive and she would fight for her right.
*Two weeks later*
Alastor did wait near the side gate to the graveyard. There he could watch the funeral. He saw Fiona with her mother and little sister. The sadness in her eyes let his heartache. It was strange but he didn't think much about it. After the funeral ended Fiona directly walks over to Alastor. Alastor did buy a bouquet of flowers for the funeral and he was also wearing a black suit. "Thank you so much for coming. My mom wanted to thank you for the flowers but she still feels not so well.", Fiona tells him with sad eyes and a smile. But then he suddenly realized that Mr. Blair wasn't at the funeral. "Is your step-father not there?", he asked and she was biting her lip. "He said he has some business to finish and can't go with us.", she told him and pressed her lips together. Then he suddenly did hug her and was holding her in his arms. Fiona was taken by surprise. She was leaning against his chest and started to cry. She felt so good in his arms. It was so much easier for her to cry in his arms to let her pain and sadness out. "Fiona, I'm there for you if you need me.", he said to her while still holding her in his arms. He nuzzled her neck and was shocked about his own behavior. But he couldn't stop and he also felt so happy even if this moment was not the right one to fall in love with someone. "Thank you so much to be there for me.", then she gave him a kiss on the cheek and he didn't want to let her go. "You can trust me. If something is wrong then you can always come to me.", he said smiling and still holding her in his arms. After a while, he did let go and walked her back to her home. She was very thankful that he didn't leave her all alone. She had the feeling that she could trust him. "This year I will graduate from school. Until now I wasn't sure what I should do after graduation but now after my little brother died I want to become a nurse. I want to be useful and help people to get better.", she told him while walking to her home. "That sounds great. You will be a wonderful nurse.", he looks at her caring. "I hope that I can make it but my stepfather wants me to marry a rich man and be a good housewife.", she said a bit sarcastic. Both did sit down on a bench still talking about. He didn't want to leave her alone with her family and this stepfather she has.
Emma was very sad that her older brother did pass away but she was sadder about the fact that her older sister was so far away from her. Even her mother wouldn't listen to what she was telling her. She was scared to go home. This house was no home for her it was a prison. A place of screams pain and sadness. Emma hoped that her sister would come back and stay longer with them but their stepfather didn't allow her to stay even after the funeral. She heard how her mother was upset about the fact that he was pushing her daughter away from her. "Why? Why do you hate my daughter so much? What has she ever done to you?", she asked him but he didn't want to listen to her complaints. Emma sat on the upper stairs of the staircase not knowing what she should do. She was holding her most beloved doll which she got from Fiona as a birthday present. Then she heard screaming and a big fight. She could hear how something does break like glass and that papers were thrown around. She could hear the hits her stepfather gave her mother. Her mother was begging that he please should stop and let her go while crying. Emma did put her hands over her ears. She didn't want to hear anything from this torture her stepfather gave her mother. But then she did hear steps that did come close to her. She was standing up very fast hiding under the bed in her room. She was holding the doll very close to herself and didn't know what will happen. The steps stopped in front of her door, then the door opens and someone walks in. She still does hide under the bed and covers her mouth but he did find her and pulls her out from her hiding spot. He also muffles her screams.
Fiona didn't know what was going on at home while she was still with Alastor. If she knew then she would be already at home with Alastor calling the police and getting her Mother and sister far away from this man. Who knows what will happen next.
