Chapter 6
Castiel's POV
"What is it that you want to talk about?" I was kind of shy to look at her but I forced myself to do it.
"I- ah. I'm sorry. It's my first time talking to a girl alone. "
"What? Really? What about your Mom?" I didn't expect her to be curious. I thought she was going to laugh so I was a bit surprised that she didn't. I mean, a guy who's talking to a girl for the first time? That's absurd. Most girls would laugh or they would not believe at that because it's really ridiculous.
Damn. She's really different.
"She left me to my father when I was 6 years old."
"Oh sorry. I didn't mean to ask something that is personal." She said apologetically.
"No need to say sorry. It's fine. That was really a long time ago. She left us for another man. I have 2 younger brothers and no sisters so to sum it all up, there's no girl in our family."
"So that's why you're not comfortable talking to girls alone?"
"Yes."
"How about Cassandra and Raven? You're friends with them for what? For 3 years, right?"
"Maybe they can be an exception. But to tell you the truth, I still wasn't able to talk to them when I'm alone. I can if I'm with the other guys but when I'm alone, I know I can get awkward and I can't think of anything to say so I just choose to keep quiet. So yeah, you're the first. You must feel lucky. I just can't talk to a girl especially when I just met her." What the hell is happening to me? Suddenly, I felt like explaining myself to her. I am usually the quiet type of person but why am I being talkative right now?
"Oh wow. It's an honor, then." And then she laughed a bit. She's so cute when she does that.
Okay, I'm creeping myself out.
"Hey! I'm just kidding! Anyway it's not me who we're going to talk about."
"Oh shoot. What is it about?"
"It's about you."
"What? What about me?" She asked. A bit confused.
"You're Asher's sister right?" I already expected that she'll be surprised but it was me who was caught off guard when I saw that she's getting teary-eyed. "Hey, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you cry. I was being insensitive. If you're not comfortable talking about it, then let's just drop the topic."
"Yes. I am his sister. Funny right? How did you find out?" Is she really asking me that?
"It's obvious! The others are just dumb and ignorant so they haven't figure it out yet. You two have look so much alike for heaven's sake!" I said like that is the most obvious thing in the world. I panicked when I saw that she is already crying.
"I know you are trustworthy but can I trust you that you won't tell anything to Kuya Asher?" She said with her pleading and wet eyes. How can I say no to those cute, little, reddish eyes?
"I promise."
She smiled then started to tell me the real story. After telling me the whole story, I kept quiet because to tell you the truth, I don't know how I should react.
"Dumating ako sa point na hiniling ko kay Lord na sana hindi na lang ako nabuhay pa lalo na yung pag dating ko pala sa mundong ito ay makakasira lang ako ng buhay ng isang tao." Then she wasn't able to control her tears anymore so I hugged her.
"Hey don't say that." I felt gay, but I almost cried while hearing everything from her.
"Sobrang sama ko diba?" No. I can't believe that she was blaming herself for everything when in fact, none of what happened was her fault.
"No you're not. It's not your fault so you should stop blaming yourself."
"No! This is all my fault."
"Stop crying Yvette." And she did after a few minutes.
"Thank you, Castiel for listening. Sorry kung ikaw pa yung naiyakan ko."
"It's okay. Thank you for trusting me. So... Cassandra knows your situation, right?"
"Yes. That's why she's so protective when it comes to me. She's my only best friend."
"Should I start being protective to you too? Can you treat me as your guy best friend?" What the hell, Castiel? Best friend? You're heart is beating THAT fast when you first saw her and you think you can settle with being her best friend?
"For real?!" She smiled and I felt like I could melt with her smile so I just avoided eye contact so she would not see me blush. Damn, I think I'm whipped.
"Well I know your secret now and you're the first girl who I was able to talk to alone and I'm comfortable with. So yeah it's for real."
"Sure!" I can see that she's happy. This is all I can do for her... to make her happy.
I stood up and offered my hands to her to help her stand up. "We better go back. I bet they are already looking for us."
She just smiled and accepted my hands which made my heart beat faster again.
"By the way, can we please stop with the English speaking thing? My head is already aching."
"I'm not very fluent in Tagalog." I said shyly.
"Rich kid kasi! I'll teach you."
"Great! And hey! You're a rich kid too! You're a Madrid, for God's sake! You're just acting like you're not!"
"At least I'm fluent in Tagalog. Not like you."
"Fine! You win."
"So is Castillo, your mother's maiden name?"
"Oh yes. I know Kuya Asher will not like it if I use my real surname so I thought of using it instead."
Damn. I heard the whole story from Yvette but I can't help but envy Asher for having a sister like Yvette at the same time I pity him because he doesn't know how lucky he is.
I looked at Yvette and saw her innocent eyes staring at me.
I promise I'll take care of this girl.
We started to walk back to our room but we stopped when we saw Asher looking at us... more like glaring at me. When he saw us looking at him, he started walking again and acted like he didn't see anything.
I secretly smirked.
Acting like you don't care. Tsk. Way to go, Asher.
Asher's POV
Bakit magkasama si Yvette at Castiel? Nasaan yung iba? Bakit silang dalawa lang yung naiwan?
Si Castiel? Kausap si Yvette? Nang sila lang dalawa?
Ano bang problema ko?
Am I worried?
Tsk. Asa! Ano bang iniisip mo, Asher? Malamang, hindi! Anong pakialam ko don sa dalawang yon?
Siguro nga oo, pero dahil lang baka mapagalitan ako ni Dad kapag nalaman niyang pinapabayaan ko yung anak niya na may kasamang iba. Alam ko naman na parang si Levi lang si Dad. Sobrang protective kapag dating sa anak niya.
Pero wait. Hindi ko alam kung namamalikmata lang ako or hindi pero namumula yung mata niya. Bakit? Hindi kaya pinaiyak to nung gagong yon?
Why do I even care? Damn. May mali sa akin. Maybe I should take a rest. I'll just cut classes. I'm sure Dad won't even care.
Dahil hindi naman ako pwedeng tumambay sa field at baka mahuli pa ako, umakyat na lang ako sa rooftop para doon matulog. Mabuti na lang hindi ako nakita nila Raven.
Sinubukan kong matulog pero sa tuwing pumipikit ako, nakikita ko yung scene kanina na magkasama si Castiel at Yvette.
That's an unusual scene because I know Castiel is not comfortable in talking with a girl alone. May mali eh.
Pero hindi ko na dapat sila iniisip. Hindi ako pwedeng magsayang ng oras para sa mga walang kwentang bagay lang.
I should start making a plan how to get my revenge and ruin Yvette's life.
Yeah that's right.
