Convening in a forest of unspoken conversation
we practice what we possess in terms of talent
raking ourselves over the coals burning orange
if only to get someone else to see the sacrifice
what I could gain in a million years of practice
I see in those stern eyes, the unwavering gaze
that can sift through the lingering clouds above
a double life lived in metaphor just to impress
