(Y/n) walks into the bedroom in search for Lance when she sees him lying on their bed staring at his phone about to burst into tears.
"Hey, what's wrong?" (Y/n) asks walking towards the bed, Lance quickly locks his phone and looks at her, giving her a forced smile.
"Nothing, why would something be wrong?" Lance asks, his voice fading at the end of his sentence.
"You look like you're about to cry." (Y/n) says moving his legs to the side and sitting at the edge of the bed. "So, want to tell me what's wrong?"
"It's nothing, really, it's stupid," Lance says, (Y/n) could see it was clearly not nothing.
"You are a horrible liar." (Y/n) says. "What's wrong?" (Y/n) asks again but in a softer voice, Lance lets out a sigh and hands his phone to her, she looks at him confused before unlocking his phone to see the twitter app still open, she reads through his mentions and lets out a sigh, the amount of hate he was getting was unbelievable. "You are such an idiot." (Y/N) mumbles, causing a hurtful look to flash across his face.
"Gee, thank you for making me feel better," Lance says, (Y/n) exits the app and locks his phone again.
"You are an idiot, why are you reading these things?" (Y/n) asks raising his phone into the air. "It's bullshit and you shouldn't be bothered by them."
"I just can't help it..." Lance mumbles turning around on the bed, (Y/n) gets up from the bed and walks around to her side and lays down in front of him. "It's hurtful."
"It is, they're pretty nasty." (Y/n) says putting his phone down between them. "And you're letting it get to you, which means they're winning and you shouldn't let them win." (Y/n) says, Lance stays silent as a stray tear falls from his eye. "You know, I'm proud of you..." (Y/n) says placing her hand on the side of his face, caressing his cheek.
"Proud of what?" Lance mumbles avoiding eye contact.
"Getting into that car, not just anyone can drive a Formula 1 car for two-plus hours, the strain it has on your body it amazes me each time when you get out of that car and you walk around as if you just finished a thirty-minute workout." (Y/n) says. "They don't realize how much goes into driving an F1 car, the training you have to do, the endurance you go through." (Y/n) says, Lance places his hand over her hand giving her a faint smile. "They love to bring you down without realizing how much you, as a driver, has to go through."
"That is true..." Lance says.
"Don't let them take up space in that handsome head of yours." (Y/n) says.
"Handsome head, huh?" Lance asks giving her a cheeky smile as his gloomy mood lightens up.
"Gosh, did I just stroke your ego?" (Y/n) asks smiling back at him. "You might be an idiot, but you're my idiot, Lance."
"I am not an idiot," Lance says. "Take that back."
"I will not." (Y/n) says about to get up from the bed but Lance pulls her back down.
"No, don't go." Lance quickly says. "Not yet."
"Okay... but just a few more minutes." (Y/n) says, (Y/n)'s eyes fall to his hand that was in the air, she places her hand against his.
"Look at me." Lance softly says, (Y/n) looks away from their hands and at him. "I love you." A smile grows on (Y/n)'s lips.
"If you really mean that." (Y/n) says causing Lance to laugh.
"You say that each and every time and I still haven't changed my mind, I love you," Lance says.
"I love you too, Lance."
