Dave coughs, his face growing red and his cheeks burning hot.
Vincent sighs in defeat, giving himself a face palm as he is unable to face the person in front of him, and his friends who were eagerly watching them both. "You shouldn't have talked to me, Dave."
"I'm sorry, I didn't know you were hanging up the mistletoe." He replies serenely.
Vincent looks at him in disbelief, pointing the box he was standing on. He was about to burst. "I'm in the middle of a doorway, standing on a big ass box, reaching for the top, and you didn't know that I was hanging up the mistletoe?"
"Yeah, I'm that oblivious."
Darryl couldn't help but giggle. George shushed him, and grabbed Zak's hand, then putting it on the taller man's mouth.
"This was supposed to be for Zak and Darryl first." He whispered to Dave.
"Yeah? Well I want it for the both of us." Dave felt alive. He was flirting on Christmas Eve: one thing was off his bucket list. Philza, his college friend told him that this would be a big step forward for him, and boy was he right.
Vincent on the other hand, told his friends that Dave would never do such thing. "That's something that will never happen, Zak. I can't believe you brought Philza into your lies!"
Dave realizes that Vincent had been zoning out, holding an expression of embarrassment.
"Hey," Dave calls to him, awkwardly grabbing both of his hands. It was his turn to turn red. "I-It's really okay if you don't wanna do it, man. I forgot how demeaning things can get, you know?" He finishes with an unsettled laugh. And he continues to blabber on, his hands fidgeting on Vincent's.
Vincent couldn't help but smile at his boyfriend who was all over the place. What a dumbass, he thinks, then closes the space between him and Dave. He was sure he didn't make a bad decision.
Dave jumps but they were still in contact, feeling the smile growing on Vincent's space. He sighs in relief and kisses back.
"This is so cheeky," Zak removes his hand on Darryl's mouth, and places it on his shoulder instead.
Darryl awes, "Yeah, we should do it sometime."
When Vincent pulled back and stopped their kiss, Dave leans in closer and nearly falls. He opens his eyes hazily and realised everyone was smiling at him. "Oh God, this is humiliating."
And they laughed, going back into preparing for Christmas.
