Friday came in a blink of an eye. It's nothing special just a d-d-date between two friends. Yes friends nothing more, nothing less. Right? Even though I can't help but feel anxious. I have a bad feeling about this day.
We decided to meet at the mall. I was waiting for Todoroki-kun to arrive. Lost in my thoughts a bouquet of roses appeared in front of me. "Todoroki-kun?" The ice-cold faced boy pushed the flowers into my hand. "Here it's for you Midoriya." He said awkwardly. "Thank you...?" He looked at me, a slight disappointment lingering in his gaze. " You don't like it... I should have bought the new All Might figurine ..." I panicked I didn't mean to sound so disheartened. "No no no I like it. I really do." He smiled in relief. " Shall we go then?" I nodded my head " Yeah let's go. "A shiver ran down my spine. It feels like we're being watched. Eh, it's probably nothing.
The rest of the day went smoothly. We watched a new hero movie, had lunch at a nice caffé, and walked around casually chatting. It felt refreshing. It seems Todoroki-kun forgave me. I'm glad we're on good terms again. I'm curious though, why did he invite me on a date? Oh, d-d-does he has feelings for me? "Midoriya, it's getting late I think we should head home." I looked at him smiling in relief. Nothing out of the ordinary happened today It's fine. "Alright let's go." He smiled back. Oh, that's a rare sight. I thought to myself. "I'll walk you home." Said Todoroki-kun smoothly like he didn't live in the opposite direction. "Eh, you don't have to. Isn't that far from where you live?" He looked hurt. "I just wanted to spend more time together." My heart, now I feel guilty. "All right, let's go." Maybe I shouldn't have agreed. Maybe I should have drawn the line there.
We walked rather quietly. Seems like both of us are deep in thought. The silence felt like an endless heavy burden waiting to be broken by one of us. I didn't know what to tell him. We were close to my house, right at the entrance of the nearby park. I mustered up the courage to ask him. "Todoroki-kun do you have feelings for me?" For a moment silence fell back on us. The wind blew through the trees surrounding the park, only the rustling leaves made noise. "I do." Said Todoroki-kun in anticipation. I don't want to hurt him, he's a good friend of mine, but I can't accept his feelings. "I'm sorry but I have someone that I like." He looked heartbroken for a moment but he composed himself quickly. "I see. I think I'll get going now. See ya at school." He turned around and walked away. I felt terrible. I didn't want this day to end like this. I sighed and made my way home. Before I could enter my house a familiar presence appeared behind me. "How was your date Izu-chan?"
