Part 18
I'm on a roll here! Woo! Next chappie!

Alec's POV
I'm so glad she took that well. She took it way better than most people would. Alex is amazing. She's absolutely awesome. I wonder what she's wearing tonight.
She'll probably borrow a dress from mom or Pam, because she doesn't look like the dressy type of girl. I got dressed in a tux. See it was a tradition in the pack, that whenever we have dinner together, we would dress up nicely. That meant tux and dresses, everyone liked this tradition, they just loved dressing up, in general. I find it a little weird but I don't hate it. It look cool, when everyone dresses up.
Brendan and Oscar came into my room both wearing tux's as well. We went downstairs together. We were going to announce me inheriting the Alpha position, my Female Alpha, Beta and Omega.
As we got downstairs, I noticed Alex wasn't here yet.
Alex, I thought to her.
Aaah! Sheesh, Alec! Warn a girl would ya! She thought back.
Sorry didn't mean to scare you, I thought back.
Never mind, did you want something? She asked, getting to the point.
Just wondering where you are, I replied.
I'm coming, why? She asked, warily.
I'm going to announce we're mates, and I'm becoming alpha. I told her.
Oh my god! Really! She thought back to me. She started getting nervous. I shouldn't have told her.
Relax, it's not a big deal. It'll be alright. You don't have to do anything, just be by my side. I told her, calming her slightly.
She came down the stairs, and my jaw fell to the floor. Not to mention several other men, mated and mateless. My wolf growled, mine, it said. I growled at the other wolves and they turned their attention away.
She was wearing a black strapless dress, that sat fitting at the top, and flowed out at the bottom, and it went passed her knees. Her hair had been done so that it curled at the bottom, and it made her look even more extravagant. She came up, to me and gave me a small, sweet smile.
"Close your mouth, or you'll catch flies." she said, softly.
She laughed lightly, and the sounded flitted through the room. She closed my mouth for me, before smiling, seductively, and walking away. I watched her play with little Suzy, who was in a pink frock (AN: Pic on the side)
"Dude! Snap out of it!" Oscar said.
I shook my head to clear it. Wow! She was hot! My heads still hazy.
"I know she's hot but we need to do the announcement!" Oscar continued.
"Oh! Yah! I Forgot!" I said, and went up to the podium.
Dad and mom were already there. I stood behind them, with Brendan on my right, and Oscar on my left. Alex would come on later.
"Ladies and Gentleman. Can I have your attention?" Dad started off.
"As you all know, the heir to the alpha must have a mate before taking the position of alpha." he continued.
"Alec, my heir, has finally found his mate. So he will now be taking my place, along side his beta, Brendan, and omega, Oscar." He finished, and let me go on.
"I will proudly take my position as alpha and with great honor. I won't let you or alpha down! You all know how hard me, Brendan, and Oscar have worked to get here. Also, with great pleasure, I would like to introduce you to my mate, Alex!" I said, while clapping.
Alex came on with me, shyly. I wrapped my arm around her shoulder, to calm her a little. It worked and she relaxed, slightly, next to me.
"Does anyone think they could be a better Alpha then, I?" I asked, as was customary.
No one spoke up, so I continued.
"Then I will take my position as the new Alpha, and Alex the new Female Alpha!" I declared.
Everyone clapped and yelled. They were all so happy. It was good to see. I was glad to see they excepted Alex and she was too.
See they love you, I thought to her.
Yah, thanks, she thought back.
She wrapped her arms around my waist, and leaned against me. The pack, awed, and she blushed and buried her face into the side of my tux. It was cute.
A hand went up, a question. I guess that was to be expected.
"Yes." I told, John, the questioner.
"I thought you and Alex were friends?" he asked, or stated.
"We have decided to get to know each other better. We are still mates, but getting to know each other. We will also change her but, not now."
They seemed ok with that. Nothing was wrong. No objections. It was all good.
"Let the feast begin!" I said.
Everyone took their seats, I was disappointed. Alex was all the way on the other side of the table. I wanted to talk to her. To be close to her.
I'll get time later, I thought.

Alex's POV
I was getting nervous, and I was kind of hoping Alec would come help me. I didn't want to go downstairs alone.
Alex, Alec thought to me, scaring me.
Aaah! Sheesh, Alec! Warn a girl would ya! I thought back, but was really happy to hear his voice, it calmed me.
Sorry didn't mean to scare you, he thought to me.
Never mind, did you want something? I asked, wondering why he had called me.
Just wondering where you are, he thought, giving me a vague answer.
I'm coming, why? I replied, warily.
I'm going to announce we're mates, and I'm becoming alpha. He told me.
Oh my god! Really! I started getting nervous and jittery, ad butterflies entered my stomach.
Relax, it's not a big deal. It'll be alright. You don't have to do anything, just be by my side. He told me, and I relaxed, slightly.
I could do that. No big deal. Nothing to be afraid of. I told myself.
I took a deep breath to calm myself, and started down the stairs. As I got to the steps everyone stared at me. It was kind if embarrassing. I saw Alec with his mouth hanging open, and bit back a laugh. He saw that some of the other guys were looking at her so he growled at them. He was jealous!
I went all the way over to him, while people were staring. And I smiled at him.
"Close your mouth, or you'll catch flies." I said, quietly.
He was still staring at me as if, I was the only girl in the world. This time I couldn't stop the laugh that went through me. I closed his mouth because I was getting worried flies might get in, gave him a seductive smile, outside my introvert personality. And walked over to Suzy, that was wearing a pink little frock (AN: There's a pic on the side).
"Hi, Suzy! You look so cute in that!" I said, picking her up.
"Thank you." she said, shyly.
"Where are your mom and dad?" I asked her.
"Um, over there." she pointed to the other side of the room.
I walked over to them. Mary and Jesse, had been talking about something, and stopped when I came over.
"Sorry, am I interrupting something?" I apologized.
"Oh, no! It's ok, we were just about done. My you look amazing, Alex!" Jess said.
"Thank you, you and Mary look very good too." I told them truthfully.
They were match, Mary in red, knee length strapped dress, and Jess, in a tux with a red bow tie. It was cute. They looked like a happy couple.
"Suzy always seems to be wandering off, huh?" I told them.
"Oh, I'm sorry, is she a bother?" Mary asked.
"Oh, No! Not at all! I love her! It's kind if weird, though, that she always finds me." I told them.
"I love big sister!" Suzy exclaimed.
"Now, Suzy, we talked about this, she's not your big sister." Mary scolded.
So they'd had this argument before. Huh, wonder why. I mean little kids always seem to not get anything, but in truth, their smarter than you think.
"I don't mind at all. Actually I wish Suzy was my little sister." I told Suzy.
She smiled back at me, kissed my cheek. It was so cute!
"Ha, ha." Mary and Jess gave a nervous laugh.
Something was going on here. I would have to talk to Suzy later, but real soon. I needed to know what was going on.

I already knew this, Alex had explained all this earlier, before I got ready. I knew that I would be Female Alpha and that I had just as much control as Alec. I also knew that I, probably, wasn't going to use my power.

I knew that this was where I was going to come in, so I put Suzy down, and headed for the stage. The butterflies in my stomach increased. I felt like I was going to vomit. I had terrible stage fright.
In 7th grade, when we were doing our Social Studies project on culture. I did a PowerPoint and my speech was horrible. I was stammering, shaking, and a complete mess. I had 10 points taken off because of it and ended up with a 90.
It was like that all over again, but Alec said I wouldn't have to speak, so it was ok.

The whole pack started clapping, and my butterflies increased even more. Oh no, I thought, as I went up on the stage.
When I got there the clapping ceased, which was good. Alec noticed my tension, and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. It did wonders, the butterflies disappeared, and my nervousness was gone too.
Where was he when I was doing my project, I thought. He was probably the best cure for my stage fright, I thought.
"Does anyone think they could be a better Alpha then, I?" he asked, daring anyone to say anything.
No one spoke up, which made me wonder. How good was Alec, if no one in his pack was even thinking of challenging his authority.
"Then I will take my position as the new alpha, and Alex the new Female Alpha!" he declared, for himself and for me.
I liked staying my his side, he was warm, and it felt nice to be near him.
See, they love you, he thought to me
Yah, thanks, I thought back, and did something I probably wouldn't have done if I hadn't met Alec.
I wrapped my arms around his waist, and leaned on him. The pack awed, and I felt myself blush, so I buried my face into the side of Alec's tux. I could feel him smiling at me.
"Yes." Alec said.
My stuck my head, wondering what happened.
"I thought you and Alex were friends?" John asked, or stated.
Great. I hope I didn't break some ancient law, by being only friends with the alpha. Who knows what kind of trouble that'll lead into.
"We have decided to get to know each other better. We are still mates, but getting to know each other. We will also change her but, not now." he explained.
Ok! So maybe I'm fretting too much. Nobody seemed mad, or upset. I need to stop worrying, I thought.
"Let the feast begin!" Alec said. And I had to let go of him. Without his warmth, I shivered slightly.
We all sat down, in a random stop. I was sitting at one end of the table and Alec was sitting at the other. And I was kind if sad about it, I wanted to talk to him a little. We really didn't know much about each other. Which frustrated me, I kind of wanted to see, what kind of guy he was.
Oh well. I'll talk to him later.

Oscar's POV (I kinda felt like putting his in)
They both looked really happy, and Alex was coming out of her shell too. She seemed happier.
I noticed Alec did too. His whole character has changed. He isn't the jerk he use to be. Everyone use to think that he was an arrogant prick. Me and Brendan knew better, though, he was just upset that he had no one. He saw Brendan with Claire everyday and it made him wonder if there was someone out their for him.
Now meeting Alex, he's changed into the guy me and Brendan know. And he's more likable. No one objected to him being alpha and no one said anything about his old self.
All we needed to do now, was get me and Brendan a mate. Brendan was holding up pretty good, he and Claire had decided to stay friends and she had already moved on to Markus, a good guy, with a strong will. He'd been asking Claire forever, to be his mate, but Claire had Brendan. Now that their not mates she went to see if Mark was her mate, and it turned out he was. They had both stopped aging.
I saw him, looking at Alex and Alec, on the stage, and quietly slipped into his mind.
He looked at them, with their arms around other smiling, and having a good time.
I want a mate like that, he thought, but what if there isn't one for me, or she's dead. His expression turned into one of horror.
Everyone has a mate, I thought to him, and she can't be died before seeing you, I don't think that possible. You sound like Alec when he use to look at you and Claire.
He smiled at me and thanked me in his head, and pulled out, of my head, happy. I was always the level headed one out of all of us. I wasn't looking for my mate. We would eventually find each other, and I was in no rush, to stop aging.
Alex looked particularly beautiful today. She had a kind of glow about her. It actually looked like she was glowing. It was nice to see, since she always looked like she wanted to die, which made me shudder, just thinking about it. Imagine how Alec would take it, I thought, and shuddered again. That's why I never told him, how much pain she was in.
I noticed she was always wearing, no matter what time or where I see her, a red ruby ring. It was small, and inconspicuous, but I have an eye for things like that. I wonder where she got it, and who gave it to her. Whoever did, it must be important, for her to wear it all the time.
I just watched them, Alec and Alex, the rest of the night. Their eyes would meet, and they would look away. It was funny to watch, because, one, nobody noticed, and two they were both so shy. It made me wonder what their future would be like, and what challenges they would go through.
I hope they have a safe landing, and a safe journey but the journey was already bumpy, so I could only hope for a safe landing. This would make a great story to tell in the future. A girl and a boy, human and werewolf, and their story of what they went through.
Let's find out.
