Harry's POV
We ran as fast as we could to Lockhart's classroom and ran into his office.
"Professor we heard everything. We have some information you can....wait? What are you doing?" I asked him
He was putting all his stuff in a suitcase.
"Are you going somewhere?" Hermione asked him
"Well...um... yes. I must be leaving" He says continuing to place his things in a suitcase
"You can't leave! What about Ginny?"
"I didn't sign up for this. This was not in my contract. I'm sorry but this is not something I can do. I'm leaving"
"You're a defense teacher, surely you are trained for this. Or was everything in those stupid books of yours a lie?" Hermione asked him
"Listen girl, those books can be quite misleading. Now I can't help that girl. Yes I am a fraud and the only way I can continue with my book sales is if none of you remember this conversation. Can't have you two brats blabbing about the truth now" He told us reaching in his bag
Immediately Hermione and I both pulled our wands out and pointed them at him. As if he was going to memory charm us.
"I wouldn't try anything if I were you" Hermione walked closer to him pointing her wand right in front of him
We finally told Lockhart what we found out and we all ran to the bathroom where moaning myrtle was. We walked in and she was wailing loudly. We asked myrtle how she died and it seems Hermione and I were correct.
"It must be here. Look around for anything that might indicate a door. Try looking for a snake as well. Salazar Slytherin was a snake after all" Hermione said looking around in the sink while I looked through the stalls, Lockhart was just standing around like a nervous git
"Hermione I think the door will open if I speak parsletongue. If Salazar Slytherin creates this place, he wanted to be the only one to get inside, meaning he was the only one who could open it" I told her
"That's brilliant Harry! And I think I found the entrance. The sinks all have a snake on this side of them. Try saying something"
I didn't know what I was supposed to say, so I just asked the door to open. It seems to have worked because the top part of the sink started to open. I stepped back and I felt Hermione take my hand.
"Astounding!" I heard Lockhart whisper stepping back as well
Once the door was open, I looked down and it was a giant abyss. We were supposed to jump down there?
"Well done my boy! You don't seem to need me at all" Lockhart says before he tries running out the door
"Don't you dare! Why don't you go first?" Hermione yells taking out her wand
He looked at me for a second then turned around a jumped down the hole.
"Well let's go save Ginny" I told Hermione grabbing her hand tightly
We both jumped down together and we slid down to the bottom of abyss and landed on a pile of stuff.
"Are you alright?" I asked her
"Yeah...where's Lockhart?" She asked standing up and helping me up as well
I saw Lockhart get up from the ground and start to look around. We seems to have landed In what looked like a giant snake pit.
"Okay let's go"
"Wait. Harry we can't do this with him. He is just in the way. We should have done this awhile ago" Hermione says pointing her wand at Lockhart
She then erased his memory then casted a spell that froze him in place.
"We will come back for him. Now let's go" We both then ran though the snake pit
We ran until we reached this giant metal door with a snake on it. I asked the door to open once again and the giant door shifted open.
"Remember don't look in its eyes Hermione" I reminded her
Once the door opened we walked in and saw a giant room with snakes all around it.
"Ginny!" Hermione yells as we ran over to Ginny who was passed out on the ground
"Wake up please" I tried to shake her but she wasn't waking up
"She won't wake up, but she is still alive" I heard someone say, I turned around to see Tom Riddle walking towards us
"Tom? What are you doing here? Are you a ghost?" Hermione asked him
"I'm just a memory, nothing more. Muggleborn are you? Well you won't be needing these then" Tom reaches down and picked up both our wands
"Give us our wands back, we need to help Ginny" I tried reaching for them but he stepped back
"You and the mudblood won't be needing them. As that girl grows weaker, I will grow stronger" He yells me
"She wouldn't" I heard Hermione whisper, she clearly figured something out that I haven't yet
"Yes. It was Ginny who opened the chamber. Who wrote on the walls, who helped petrify those mudbloods. And it was all because of me. She had no idea what she was doing, but she was obviously persuaded. She was scared of the power from the diary, and tried to destroy it....but then you found it" He whispered laughing slightly
"Poor Hermione....it was quite unfortunate you're not in the hospital with the rest of your kind. But one makes mistakes"
I looked behind me to still see Ginny on the ground and Hermione holding her head up.
"It was you! You framed Hagrid all those years ago!" Hermione yelled
"Yes. And it worked, until that bastard Dumbledore started watching me too closely. Since I was unable to open the chamber again, I encased my teen self in the pages of the diary, waiting for another chance. But don't you worry, killing your mudblood is not my target anymore, the only one that should die is you"
"Why do you care! Why does Harry bother you so much? How did you even open the chamber?" Hermione stood up and walked over to him
"You stupid little mudblood, your friend was able to escape with nothing but a scar when I came for him the first time. And i don't intend to let that happen again"
"Stupefy!" He casted his spell at Hermione and she fell back
"Hermione!" I looked behind me and she wasn't moving
Suddenly I heard the sound of a bird. I looked up to see fawkes. She flew over me and tossed me a hat?
"Well let's see what happens when you fight a basilisk with a hat" He spoke and a giant snake came out of the wall
I ran as fast as I could. The snake was causing me all around the chamber. I had to find a place to hide and get back to Hermione and Ginny. Without warning, I slipped and fell on the ground. I quickly stood back up and put my glasses back on and continued running. I finally found a hole to hide in and ran inside. The snake stuck his head in and tried to move closer to me.
I wish Hermione was here to help me. So I tried to think about what Hermione would do, and I reached down on the ground and threw a rock trying to distract it. It seemed to work. I ran back to chamber and ran back to Hermione and Ginny.
"It's almost done boy" Tom told me
I ran over to Hermione and shook her awake, and she finally started moving.
"Harry....the hat. He gave it to you for a reason" Hermione said sitting up
I looked over at the hat and I saw something starting to appear. It was sparkling and I reached inside and pulled out a sword. A sword!
"Harry!" Hermione yelled as the basilisk came out from the water
I grabbed the sword and ran trying to lead the snake away from them. I climbed up on the statue and swung the sword trying the hit the snake. Suddenly I felt it bite my arm. I looked at my arm and pulled out the tooth.
I then swung the sword one last time and shoved it in the mouth of the basilisk. The snake started screeching and falling to the ground. I climbed on the ground and grabbed the sword out of its dead mouth.
"Harry, your arm" Hermione ran over to me and caught me as I started to fall
"You can feel the venom in your blood can't you. It shouldn't be long now"
Hermione placed me on the ground and grabbed the diary out of Ginny's hand.
"I may be a mudblood, but I'm smarter than you Tom" She grabbed the tooth from Harry and stabbed the diary
Bright lights started shining and I could hear the sound of screaming as Tom fell and disappeared.
"Hermione you were amazing!" I stood up and hugged her tightly
"You were too Harry" She placed a kiss on my cheek and held me tighter
"Ginny?" We let go one when we heard her mumble
"You both saved me" She whispers sitting up and hugged her
As we all let go, Fawkes flew over to us. The bird then landed next to me and healed my snake bite. It wasn't long till we all held on the fawkes and he flew us out of the chamber.
