Stay With Me: Hogwarts Rewritten

Part 24

Hermione was right, I shouldn't have let it slip. I could feel everyone staring at me, they looked so afraid and nervous around me. It has only been one day and I already felt like an outsider.

I was sitting in study hall working on potions homework, when I noticed some people staring at me from the next table. It was getting on my nerves.

"Hermione they won't stop staring, they think I'm going to do something" I whispered to her, she was sitting right across the table from me doing the same homework

"Ignore them Harry. You know who you are, people always stare at you. It will eventually stop" She told me before continuing her work

I tried to focus on my work, but then I saw Hannah and a few Hufflepuffs walk in. Just what I needed. Justin wouldn't even come near me, which I didn't honestly mind. He was a bit much too handle. But he seemed to have all the Hufflepuffs against me. Everyone thinks I'm the heir of Slytherin. I couldn't handle anymore of this, so I got up and gathered my stuff before heading out.

I didn't bother to look if Hermione was following me. While walking back to the common room I started to hear this whispering. I sounded like it was coming from the walls. I pressed my ear to the wall and it sounded like it was saying something. The words were quite hard to make out, so I kept following the sound.

I walked around the corner only to see nearly headless nick floating there, but he wasn't moving. I then turned my head to see Justin? He was just in study hall, why was he out here? They're petrified, I don't understand how that could be possible. What was happening?

"Harry, there you are. Are you okay?" I heard Hermione ask me but she stopped once she looked at the bodies

"Hermione I didn't do anything, I was just walking and found them here" I told her seeing her shocked expression

"Harry look!" Hermione says pointing at the wall behind me

I looked up at the wall to see a bunch of writing written in dark red letters. It looked as though they are written in blood. Was that there before?

"The chamber of secrets has been opened? Enemies beware....Does this mean I've done something? Enemies of the heir, Justin was a muggleborn. According to what Mcgonagall told us, they are the enemies" I explained to her

Could I actually be the heir of Slytherin? Did I open the chamber? She walked over to me and grabbed my hand probably trying to comfort me.

"Oh Harry I know you didn't do anything. You are not the heir of Slytherin and you just found them lying here. But this is bad....we must go find someone before...." Hermione started to tell me but got interrupted

"Caught in the act it seems. Mark my words Harry Potter, you won't get away with this" I turned around at the sound of Filch's voice, he was just standing there with his cat

"Sir please I haven't done anything. I just found them here" I tried telling him but he already started walking away

"What is he going to do?" Hermione asked me grabbing my arm

I was going to answer her question, but before I could, I saw these bugs crawling on the ground. Spiders? They seemed to all be crawling in one area up the walls. I really hope Hermione could them too, then maybe I wouldn't feel crazy.

"Mr. Potter!" I turned around when I heard Professor Mcgonagall call my name

I was in so much trouble. Next thing I know, half of the student body following in her footsteps. This just got much worse.

"Please don't punish Harry. He didn't do anything. He found them here" Hermione said stepping in front of me

"Look at that Potter! Mudbloods beware. You could be next" Ron yelled to the crowd before staring right at Hermione

"Even you Granger. Potter may like you now, but if I were you, I would run" Draco says laughing along with the rest of the Slytherins

"Professor...." I tired to explain what happened but she wouldn't let me

"30 points from Slytherin for crude language, and detention with me tomorrow night Mr. Weasley and Mr. Malfoy. Now you come with me Mr. Potter" She said sternly

We started following her down the hall and past all the whispering students. We ended up walking to the weird statue in the shape of a bird. I wonder where we're going? I held on to Hermione's hand tightly, worried I might be in trouble. What did Flich mean I wouldn't get away with this?

"Professor Dumbledore is waiting for you" She says gesturing to the statue

Hermione pulled my hand so we could both fit on the bottom of the statue before the professor said the password

"Sherbet Lemon" Mcgonagall casted, then suddenly the statue started to move and a staircase appears

We both started walking up the moving staircase that led to his office. I wonder what my punishment will be.

The next day....

Luckily for me, I didn't get in trouble. He just had me sit there and explain what happened. I honesty didn't do anything. I couldn't be the heir of Slytherin? But I knew someone who could. Malfoy. That so called Slytherin prince was the only one who could be the heir of Slytherin, and I just needed a way to find out.

"Hermione the heir of Slytherin has returned, you saw the writing on the wall. Now we just need a way to find out if it's true" I explained to her, but I could tell she was thinking the same thing

Classes have ended for the day and I could finally have a break from all the stares. They all think I'm going to petrify them or something. It was bad enough having people think I'm evil for talking to snakes, but now this. Hermione on the other hand told me not to worry and decided to walk me to practice.

"We can worry about that later Harry. Right now you should be getting ready for quidditch practice. It's bad enough you have to face Slytherin house, who think you are now some heir, but worse you have to face off against Malfoy. I will start researching some ways to find out about him, but for now you should only focus on your game in a few days" Hermione says tucking her arms in mine as she walked me to the locker room

"Alright. Let me know if you find anything out. I will see you after practice. We can work on our transfiguration essay" I told her before walking in the locker room

I got ready for practice and changed into my uniform. As I was grabbing my broom, the twins walked over to me.

"Cheer up Harry. We have a definite shot at winning because no one will come near you" George tells me, it didn't really make me feel better

"Yeah. They are too scared" Fred says adding on to his brother

It always amuses me when the do that, but not this time. They were probably right.

I just needed to focus on this game and beating Malfoy. I couldn't wait to the his smug face when I grab the snitch before him.
