Chapter 11- a crinkle on your nose

I couldn't believe that I asked Ansh to be my date to my own party. I asked him last minute and he's so sincere that he accepted my offer.

That sounds so pathetic. Like I didn't have anyone else to go with and had to ask him.

What must he think of me now?

"Your date is Anshuman?" Candice questioned, staring at me through the mirror. "Like the Anshuman Kapoor? As in the hottest boy in school Anshuman?"

"Umm... I'm here," Blake called out.

"No offense Blake."

"None taken," Blake smiled as he looked at me for an answer as well.

"Yes, Candice, all of the above," I replied back, rolling my eyes at how crazy her and Emma were about Ansh. "That's the Ansh I'm talking about."

"Ansh? Are you guys close friends because only his friends call him Ansh?" Candice questioned but before I could answer, she asked more questions. "Is he actually the grandson of Armaan Kapoor? Is he a good kisser? Like can you rate him from zero to ten?"

"Still here," Blake made a face when she talked about kissing Ansh.

"God, Candice, you're just as insane as Emma," I groaned, pulling a small diamond necklace over my neck and matching earrings. "Yes, he is the grandson of Armaan Kapoor. And no, I don't know if he's a good kisser or not. It's not even a date, it's just a hangout. I didn't ask him out, I just asked if he would like to join me and he said yes."

She gave me a look and then kept looking at me with puppy dog eyes. "Okay geez, I will introduce you to him."

Emma cleared her throat and I rolled my eyes. "I will introduce you all to him. Happy?"

"Oh my God, I had the biggest crush on him since freshman year. I just never had the courage to go up to him and talk. Secondly, he's rarely seen talking to girls so that might make you one of the very few. Thirdly, my entire body just freezes when he's in front of me," Candice explained her situation regarding Ansh.

Her explanation made me chuckle softly.

"You have no idea what happened when she had to talk to him for a class project in freshman year," Emma and Blake chuckled whereas Candice had an embarrassed face.

"What happened?" The story certainly had my interest.

"So, they were biology partners and we were examining some bacteria under the microscope," Emma started with a smile on her face, ready to burst out into fits of laughter. "This woman is so terrified of talking in front of him that she has one of her moments where she is all fidgeting and stuttering and making a fool out of herself. She had the bacteria tray in her hands and spilled all of it on his shirt."

Shocked, I turned to Candice who seemed embarrassed then back to Emma. Not a second later, I burst out laughing and Emma joined in.

"What? Really?" I asked and Candice nodded, scratching her neck.

"Yeah and after that she has never spoke with him, not once," Blake finished the story by explaining why Candice is all fidgety and nervous about Ansh.

"God, Candice, talk about a first awkward meeting," I said between my laughs where Candice also joined in.

"Biscuit, are you sure that Ansh is coming here to pick you up for the party?" Blake asked as him and Emma stood up to leave.

"Yes, Blake," I answered while fixing my matron two piece dress that mom designed especially for me.

When he didn't say anything, I knew what he was thinking. He is always worried about me and it's sweet and all but he shouldn't have to. "Blake, take Emma and get to the party. I will be there soon."

"Are you sure? If he doesn't show up then... then I'll—" he started.

"—you'll hurt him?" I completed his sentence and he shrugged.

"How dare he stood my sister up," Blake said in a threatening tone.

I walked up to him and smiled up at him. "Blake, this is not a date and I know that. In no way can he hurt my feelings except if he doesn't show."

"Are you sure?" He asked once again, cupping a side of my face and I found Emma smiling at him softly.

Emma knows how much Blake cares about me. She knew how deep our love ran for each other and nobody was above me in his eyes. He would literally do anything and everything for me.

He didn't know how thankful I was for that.

Not many people have someone like Blake in their life, but I did and I appreciated him.

"Blake..." I hugged him, resting my head on his chest and he was taken aback by my sudden need for a hug because I usually don't hug him as often. "You know I love you right?"

"Yes I know," he replied back, hugging me back tightly and I could tell that he was smiling. Slowly, I pulled away. "And you know how much I love you, right?"

"I think everyone knows how much you love her, Blake," Candice replied back as she stood up as well.

"God, I wish Noel was more like you. Expressive about his love for me," Emma huffed at her older brother.

"Emma, you know he loves you even if he doesn't always express it, right? You can see it in his eyes how much you mean to him," I replied back, patting her shoulder.

"Well, he is downstairs to pick me up because my stupid date decided to bail on me," Candice stated angrily.

"What's the deal with you and Thomas anyways?" Emma asked.

Candice shrugged. "I have no idea why Tom is acting like this, it isn't like him to ditch me. He has been ignoring my calls and texts. I know something is going on but he wouldn't just tell me."

"Give him some time to clear his head, I'm sure he'll come around," I smiled at her sympathetically.

"Okay well, I'm going to head out," Candice grabbed her bag to leave. "See you guys in some time?"

"Yeah, bye," we said in unison as she left, leaving Emma and Blake with me.

"You both should keep going. Don't you have to pick up some desert?" I asked and they nodded.

"You sure you don't want to tag along?" Blake asked one more time.

"Blake, i should wait for him because I told him to be here by seven and it's not seven yet. We have fifteen minutes left," I breathed out. "When he shows up, I should be here or he would think I ditched him."

"You really think he'll show?" Blake questioned.

I don't know how I knew but I knew that he was going to come. There was something about him that assured me that he was coming.

And I was ready to bet on it.

"I'm sure," I smiled.

"I mean if you think that then—" before Blake could complete his sentence, a doorbell interrupted our conversation.

My eyes sparkled when the doorbell ring and something fluttered in my stomach because I knew for a fact that it was Ansh.

I couldn't contain the excitement for some reason and I didn't understand why. I didn't understand many things about him and it was killing me. I wanted to know why I felt the way I did.

"There he is," I smiled, grabbing my purse and started walking downstairs, followed by Blake and Emma.

I took a deep breath in and then exhaled as I opened the door. There he stood in a black Armani shirt which fit his chest perfectly, showing his muscles in all the right places, with a jean jacket over the top. He also wore blue jeans which had a few rips with white tennis shoes.

He looked extremely attractive.

"Wow," he breathed out when he found me standing before the door. He looked me up and down with a small smile and breathed out. "You- you look ravishing."

I smiled sweetly at him. "Thank you. You clean up well yourself."

He smiled back at me and I realized that Emma and Candice were right. He was, in fact, the most gorgeous boy in our school. Of course after Blake.

"Hey man," Blake came forward, Ansh and him did their handshake and then they exchanged a few words.

Blake and Ansh were apparently friends, but just not close. They talked to each other because they were both in the baseball team along with Venson and Noel.

And that reminds me of Venson.

Where the hell is he? He hasn't called or texted me this entire day and that isn't like him. According to Blake, he is bringing a date with him.

Oh boy, was I eagerly waiting for who that was?

I decided to get over the fact that he didn't ask to take me, but decided to take some other girl. Did I care? No because I had the hottest date.

Was it a date, though? I just didn't want to put a label on it because we had only been talking for about three weeks. It was way too early for it to be anything.

Right now it was friendship and I didn't want to mess it up.

"Shall we get going?" Ansh extended his arm out for me to take, all gentlemanly like.

I cleared my throat and took his arm. His soft fingers held mine captive smoothly as he made his way outside. Blake and Emma locker the door and trailed behind us.

The car that was parked in our gigantic driveway was a black Bugatti Veyron. I know that because when Blake got that car, he was the happiest guy in the world until he didn't want it anymore. It cost almost three and a half million dollars.

Ansh trailed me to the passenger's seat and opened the door for me. "Thank you."

He nodded and closed the door behind me softly as he made his way in the car as well. Blake pulled up beside Ansh's car and rolled down his window.

"Hey man we are going to get the desert but I sent you the address to the party's hall," Blake pointed at his phone then took off.

"Whose party are we going to exactly?" Ansh asked as he pressed his foot against the brake.

"Oh crap, I forgot to tell you. It's Uncle Tyler's birthday party who is my friends, Emma and Noel's, father," I answered quickly.

"Oh that's cool, am I dressed appropriately for the occasion then?" He asked and I checked him out from top to bottom with a small smile. "God, don't look at me like that."

His voice was deep and husky as he quickly turned away from me. "Like what?"

"Like that," he pointed at me staring at him. "Like I don't know but how you are looking right now."

I tried to get him to face me but he wouldn't budge. I could see his cheeks slowly turning the faintest shade of pink. "Ansh, are you- are you feeling shy?"

He didn't reply back and I knew the answer. "Don't worry, you are dressed appropriately. Casual but appropriate just like Blake."

"Who else may I be seeing at this party?" Ansh asked finally.

"Crap," I breathed out when I realized that he will be seeing more than my friends. He will literally meet my entire family. He will be meeting mom, dad, Ma, Pa, and everyone else. "Okay, don't freak out but I forgot to mention that everyone will be there."

"Everyone?" He raised a brow.

"Yes, everyone. As in all the people that I grew up with. As in my friends, my parents, my second parents, and all the parents of my friends. We are all a close bunch of people and we always celebrate everything together," I explained and his eyes widened at the mention of my parents.

I felt bad about not telling him earlier. It completely slipped my mind that Ansh has never met any of them. I have always been used to all of us together that I forgot about it when I invited him to join me.

"I am so sorry. Oh God, it completely slipped my mind. I- I never realized that I was asking you to come with me to a party where my parents will be there. Oh God, I'm so sorry. I would understand if you don't want to come anymore, I won't hold it against you. I promise—"

"—shh," he shushed me by putting his warm index finger on my lips to keep me from talking further. "You talk a lot when your nervous."

"Sorry," I managed to say even with his finger on my lips.

"Stop apologizing," he said, taking his finger back. "I don't actually mind. It will be great to meet your parents, they are amazing people."

"Isn't it a little early?" I questioned quietly. "Meeting my parents when it's the first time that we're out, together?"

"Oh, is this a date?" He wiggles his brows and i froze.

What the hell did I just say?

"Um... what?"

He didn't reply back and just looked at me with a smile. He was enjoying the fact that I was embarrassed in front of him. "I can't believe you're laughing at my situation."

I softly smacked his chest playfully and he chuckled. "I'm sorry, I'm not trying to make fun of you at all. It's just whenever you're nervous, you have this crinkle on your nose and it's cute."

That brought a smile on my face somehow because compliments usually never earn any attention from me or any sort of reactive out of me. I am like a stone but somehow he knew how to get through to me.

I turned his head back on the gate so we could leave. "Eyes on the road, mister, lets go."

"As you wish," he smiled and we left.
