Leon continued to walk down the hallways of Beacon Academy while following team RWBY and his mentor Qrow, who had been training him for a year now. As Leon walked down the hallways of Beacon Academy, he observed the place, memorizing it and familiarizing himself with as much as he can. The school was extremely large, as Leon expected, so mapping it out wouldn't be that easy. Leon, though being observant while taking down mental notes, also took some time to appreciate the beauty of the school and its seemingly friendly and welcoming atmosphere. He took in the sight of the wonderful paintings that decked the halls of a lot of hallways of Beacon, along with the matching colors of the walls that they were hanging from. He even admired the grandeur chandeliers and lamps that were magnificently designed and carefully placed on every ceiling and wall. The scent of the atmosphere wasn't that bad, either. It still smelled like fresh air; the sunlight shining through the glass windows further emphasizing and highlighting his colorful surroundings.

'Guess the first day here wouldn't be as bad as I thought it would be,' Leon thought.

That's when something caught his eye when they passed by the empty cafeteria.

The "should be empty at this hour" cafeteria.

But, not to Leon's surprise, it wasn't.

It was barely noticeable to the untrained eye, but there stood a brunette girl rabbit Faunus in the far corner of the dimly lit cafeteria, who was being surrounded by a group of four tall men in armor. She was barely visible for the men were covering up most of her body from view.

'Something's up,' Leon thought.

As Ruby Rose kept on babbling on and on about the school and the things he should remember and take note of, Leon secretly slips away from the group and enters the cafeteria.

But, not without his mentor Qrow noticing at a later time, along with the members of team RWBY too.

"Um, uncle, where's Leon?" Ruby asks.

Qrow sighs.

"Wait here. I'll go get my "pupil." Be back in a minute," Qrow said in his husky voice as he heads off to look for Leon, while taking a sip from his flask.

"Wait, pupil?" Yang wonders.

Leon continued to walk towards the corner of the large cafeteria quickly, but quietly, walking amongst the shadows as he did so.

As he got closer, he began to hear their conversation.

"Just leave me alone,  Cardin!" The Faunus girl yelled.

"Or what, lil' pipsqueak? You're gonna cry?" Said the tallest and most muscular man in the group decked in heavy armor who was holding a battle mace, whom Leon assumed was Cardin.

"I'm warning you--."

That's when she gets pushed to a wall, and the four men began to close in on her.

"We're gonna have a lil' fun with ya, freak. You'll have no choice but to, well... "Hang out" with us four for a lil' while--."

That was all Leon needed to hear.

"LEAVE... HER... ALONE!"

As the four men looked back to see where the voice came from, in what seemed like the speed of light, Leon appeared right in front of them, and began to "go to town" with them.

Leon punched Cardin in the gut so hard that he was sent flying up through the roof.

Leon then proceeded to fight the remaining men, who seemed to be Cardin' teammates, according to Leon's analysis. They were, surprisingly, pretty easy to fight as they used predictable and petty techniques that only took Leon just a few months to learn. He easily dodged the attacks of each of Cardin's three teammates, who all foolishly decided to charge at him all at once, which made Leon jump out of the way, causing the three men to bump into each other so hard that they fell down to the ground head-first.

One man with a large blue axe that seemed like it can convert into a sniper rifle got up and charged at Leon, swinging his axe multiple times before Leon caught it in his hand and disarmed the man of his weapon. He then converted it into a sniper rifle and fired a straight shot into the man's chest, sending him flying away. Leon then tore the weapon in half and tossed it aside.

The other two men, one armed with a longsword and the other armed with two wing-like blades charged forward at Leon, but Leon, thankfully, came prepared. He pulled out his greatsword from his back scabbard and then began to battle with the two armed men. He was easily able to block each strike that came from both attackers and was able to disarm them both with little effort. The two then ran away like cowards.

Just as Leon was about to store his sword back on his scabbard, he heard a roaring shout coming from above. It was Cardin, who was falling down to the ground ike a missile, with his mace in hand, ready to deliver a crushing blow. Leon dodges just in time to avoid the hit.

"Get back here, you little twerp!" Cardin yells as he gets up from his landing.

Leon preps his sword for Cardin's charge and blocks his first strike, taking advantage of the window he left open that allowed Leon to kick Cardin hard in the balls, causing Cardin to howl in pain and stagger back.

"W-Why... Y-You...!" Cardin shouted as he tried to charge forward amidst the pain.

Leon easily sidesteps to avoid Cardin, and, to Cardin's surprise, with one swift sword strike, Leon breaks Cardin's back armor plate and, in a swift move, pulls out his right pistol and fires an explosive round at Cardin's back, causing him to get knocked hard into a wall. Cardin's impact made a huge crater on the wall, and thus, he was left pinned to it.

After the short battle, Leon stored his weapons back in their proper containers and dusted off his hands, with the rabbit Faunus girl just sitting on the floor behind him, her expression in both amazement and wonder, with a little nervousness thrown in for good measure.

"Are you okay?" Leon asks as he turns to the girl, lending her a hand as he did so; a gesture that the girl kindly accepted.

"Y-Yeah. Thank you, and, you are..."

"Leon Night. Pleasure to meet you, miss..."

"Oh, I-I'm Velvet Scarlatina. T-Thank you for helping me, Leon."

Leon simply nods at Velvet.

"Um, are you... New here?" Velvet asks.

"Yeah. I'm the new student. I'm from Atlas. By the way, how long have these guys been bothering you?" Leon asks.

"Well, that, I can't tell anymore." Velvet replies shyly.

"Nice to meet ya, Velvet. Oh, and by the way, take this," Leon says as he hands a bar of chocolate over to Velvet.

"Oh, um, thank you," Velvet says shyly.

"Thank you for the thank you. Anyhow, I gotta go. My mentor's probably looking for me right now. See ya around, Velvet," Leon said as he left.

"S-See ya.." Velvet whispers as she waves goodbye at Leon, who returns the gesture.

"So, how was the brawl, kid?" Qrow asks as he walks in, only to see the results of the fight.

Leon just raises a thumb up to Qrow as he walks past him, with Qrow following him.

"Well, your first fight on the first day. Way to go, Leon," Qrow sarcastically says with a chuckle.

"Ha, ha. Very funny, master," Leon said.

"Hey, what did I tell ya about that whole "master" thing? Just call me Qrow, kid," Qrow simply says.

Leon simply smirks at his mentor's remarks.

"So, I believe ya met someone back their, right?" Qrow asks with a mischievous grin.

"Her name's Velvet, and please, for the love of the gods, just STOP," Leon states.

"Okay then," Qrow replies with a chuckle.

'Hell of a first day. Got to meet new faces, and make enemies from all places,' Leon said in his thoughts.

"So, ya ready to meet the headmaster?" Qrow asks.

"Ready as I'll ever be..." Leon says confidently, while trying to hide his shy interior.

"Okay then, let's go!" Qrow shouts as he takes another sip from his wine flask.

'Geez, Qrow, how many sips have ya even swigged today?!' Leon says in his thoughts.
