The silence hung above them like a haunting melody, clouding them in this heavy smug that is suffocating. Jimin's trimly clipped nails tap against the glazed wooden table. Glass of wine filled to the brim, resting comfortably between his fingers. His eyes spoke a thousand words, burning a dangerous hole right between his husbands eyes.

Jimin was fuming, a grotesque anger had taken hold of him and he wasn't quite ready to let go. He needed answers. Answers as to where is husband has been sneaking off too. Answers as to why his husband is lying to him. Answers to questions that could destroy his life as he knew it.

And that scared him. Absolutely petrified him but he needed to know. Needed to know the truth about the man he's married. The man he loves.

"What is this Jungkook? We haven't been on a date in months, so why now? Why now do you suddenly care about being a husband." Jimin takes a rather excessive swig of his drink, devouring it like it was orange juice.

Jungkook doesn't even flinch at the question, his gaze stone cold almost deadly. His dark orbs graze over his husband who sat brooding before him. He brings himself forward, catching his elbows on the edges of the table. His tongue laps at his bottom lip, sticking out to press into the tenderness of his cheek.

"Can't I take my beautiful husband out and enjoy a night with him without being interrogated." Jimin doesn't even try to hide his scoff, rolling his eyes at his audacity.

Jungkook lets out a dry breath, combing his slender fingers through his rough locks. He wasn't surprised Jimin is acting bratty as he supposed in some way he deserved it but nonetheless he didn't like his attitude.

"I haven't even started yet." Jimin doesn't bat a single eye as he gulps down the rest of his red wine.

Jungkook growls lowly, enough to signal to him he's not happy about the amount he's drinking. Jimin doesn't spare him a glance or notice, instead taking the open bottle which sat in the ice bucket beside them, going to poor himself another much needed drink.

"I know I've been lacking lately Jimin and I'm sorry, I'm going to do better." Jungkook retreats back to his seat, not forgetting to snatch the wine bottle from his small grasp

Jimin just glares at him, his lips wrap around the glass, seeming to have grown addicted to his drink.

"Are you? Because I'm finding that very hard to believe." He dumps the glass down roughly on the table, capturing the attention of a few other patrons in the quaint restaurant.

Jungkook lets his eyes linger on him for a moment, noticing how his knuckles whiten by how tightly he's gripping the glass.

"I love you Jimin and I'm going to make sure to show you that every single second of every day." Jungkook dumps the bottle back in its bucket, reaching out to latch his hand with his.

Jimin flinches away from his touch, like it was fire burning his flesh. He clenched his hands into fists, shifting back to distance himself from his husband.

"Just saying I love you every now and then isn't going to fix this Jungkook. I'm very angry with you and a cute dinner date isn't going to change that." Jimin couldn't contain the emotions bottling up inside him anymore.

Jungkook's jaw muscles tighten, he wasn't liking where this conversation was going. How Jimin's suspicious eyes raked over him, tinted in this distaste like he hated the sight of his own husband.

"I know it won't, but it's a start isn't it? All I want is for us to go back to how we used to be. When we were young and in love and nothing could tear us apart. I miss that." Jungkook wasn't afraid of much, in fact anything but losing Jimin.

Jimin goes to bark back at him, scream at him as he is the reason they're drifting apart but he's interrupted before he can by the waitress coming round to take their order.

"Are you two ready to order?" A young women with golden locks that bounces of her shoulders smiles at them, notepad gunned at the ready.

Jimin doesn't bare her a glance, eyes fixated on giving his husband the death glare. He wasn't hungry, food the last thing on his mind. Jungkook briefly glances over the menu, deciding for the two of them.

"We'll take one steak medium rare and for my beautiful husband one carbonara. Thank you." He slams the menu shut, handing it back to the waitress not missing the grit Jimin gave him for mentioning the word husband.

The waitress nods before slipping away, leaving the two to bath in the tension devouring the air and their souls.

"Where have you been?" Jimin spins the stem of the wine glass, gearing himself to get another one.

"What?" Jungkook cracks his neck, knowing exactly what he meant but he doesn't want to answer.

Jimin can't contain his laughter, almost unable to fight the urge to spit at him.

"Where have you been every night you come home late? When I stay up for you, when Bailey stays awake in hopes his daddy will be home to tuck him in." His words were laced in venom, a sharp knife cutting deep.

Jungkook takes his first sip of his drink, letting the alcohol sit before swallowing. He shouldn't be surprised by this, it was bound to happen. Jimin would begin to grow suspicious, question the late nights and disappearing acts. But he must admit he thought he would have more time, more time to forge a bulletproof plan that allowed him to keep lying to his husband.

"I've told you Jimin, I'm working late. That's the burden of being a doctor." Jungkook keeps his answer short, not wavering to long on the details.

"Really? Because I find that very hard to believe. I know you're cheating on me Jungkook, I'm not stupid." Jimin has to hold himself back from snapping at him like a rapid dog, now wasn't the place, he'd safe that for home.

Jungkook would've laughed if it were appropriate, a delicious wash of relief floods over him. He blinks at his husband stunned, an offended expression tied to his gaze. A preposterous idea that made his insides coil and his mood to sour.

The thought that Jimin would even consider he'd cheat is insulting. He loves him, probably the only person he can say for certain he's ever loved or felt anything for. And the idea he'd disrespect his husband like that by being unfaithful made his trigger finger pulsate with the desire to kill to relief the stress and anger boiling up inside him.

"I would never cheat on you Jimin. I'm insulted you would even think that! Why would I ever do that to you? To Bailey? I love you and only you." Jungkook said it through tightly gritted teeth, containing himself from the rage ready to break free.

Jimin stares at him through hooded eyes, taking a moment to let everything settle in. All he could allow his mind to think is of course you would say that.

"How can I trust you? You have done nothing to prove to me what I think isn't true. The late nights, the distance between us, the odd smell of female perfume that seems to linger on your clothing. It all leads to one answer. What else could there be? I want the truth, I'm sick of your lies." Jimin suddenly looks so much taller, his shoulders retracted back, appearing terrifying in his grace.

Jungkook's tongue grazes his inner cheek, cursing himself for not being more careful. For letting his impulses drive him, for being negligent and making mistakes. He's been to guided by his lust for blood, to blinded by the need to kill that he's slipping up when he knows better.

"Jimin. I would never lie to you, I could never hurt you like that. I promise you Jimin, I promise you I'm not cheating. I've been an awful husband, I know I have but I'm going to change. You mean to much to me, you mean everything to me. Please just don't leave me." Jungkook had never imagined himself as a beggar, as a man who'd be pathetic enough to get on his knees but for Jimin he would.

Jimin could hear the sincerity in his voice, the love but he wasn't sure it was enough. He still hasn't explained where he's been, why he comes home stinking of someone else. He wanted answers but at the same time being left in the dark sounded appealing.

He knew that this could destroy them, their marriage, their family. He had a child to think about, his life in a sense is on the line. Bailey would grow up in a broken home, when he was supposed to be brought up in a loving one. There was so much more he had to consider than his own heart or feelings.

Even if Jungkook was lying, he had really cheated on him in some cruel twist of fate Jimin still loved him. And he was sure he always will.

"I'm going to spend the night at Tae's, I think we need some space. I need time to think. To think about us." Jimin couldn't be around him right now, he could barely breathe, barely think. He needed to be alone with his thoughts, with his heart to truly know how he felt.

Jungkook isn't given a chance to counter before Jimin's bolting from his seat. Dumping his napkin on the table, grabbing his bag that hung behind his chair he's moving his feet.

"Jimin wait! We haven't even had our food." Jungkook calls for him, going to reach out but Jimin didn't like that.

"I'm not hungry. Enjoy your dinner." With that Jimin storms away, almost knocking over the waitress who is coming towards them with their meals.

He needed to get out of there, the room had become stuffy and suffocating. All he wanted was to be with his son, to cradle him in his arms as Bailey was the only good thing in his life right now.

The moment he steps out into the icy night, the wind pierces his skin like sharp needles. His breath catches, creating a cloud that lingered. He groans realising Jungkook drove.

God damnit.

Jimin didn't want to go back in there, he couldn't stomach seeing his husband. So instead either out of impulse or comfort he calls a man he has no explanation for calling. But before he allows himself to dwell on his decision he's dialling his number. It rings for a few gentle seconds, echoing through the silence of the cold city.

When the dial stops, Jimin's ragged emotions suddenly loosen.

"Hi? Sorry, I know it's late but I was wondering if you could pick me up? I'm having a rough night and for some reason you were the first person I thought to call." Jimin rambles on out of nervousness, feeling now a little embarrassed for calling him.

The man on the other line doesn't even falter with his reply.

"Of course Jimin, where are you? I'll come pick you up."

Jimin smiles softly into the phone, ruffling his tired locks. "Madison's, the restaurant down town. Do you know it?"

"I'll be there in a tick."

Jimin sighs gratefully, glad he could rely on someone unlike his husband.

"Thank you. Thank you Yoongi." He ends the call, wrapping his arms around his body to brace himself from the gruelling cold as he waits.

Sadly in a twist of cruel fate Jimin wasn't aware what his actions have done. What the consequences of such a small act has caused upon the lives of him and the innocent around him.

For the peering eyes of his merciless husband burnt as he watches him get inside the car of the man he's grown to loath and dream about killing. It ignited a fire so sharp, so bold nothing would extinguish it.

Setting a grave, inevitable aligning of thoughts to pitter patter around Jungkook's psychotic head. Jimin made a mistake when he decided to walk out on him. To leave him right after Jungkook let himself be vulnerable, be human like he never has before. Jimin is threatening his way of life, threatening to change his world as he knows it. And that doesn't sit well with him. He doesn't like change, things are how they are because that's how they're meant to be.

And no one. No one can change that. Not even Jimin the man he loves can. He can't leave him, take his child, take his life when that's all he has. Jimin can't go anywhere and no one can take him. Certainly not that son of a bitch sheriff who he desires more than anything to bury six feet under the ground, choking on his own blood and vomit.

Tonight is the night Jungkook goes on a rampage, a deifying moment that will go down in his serial killer history. No one is safe from his wraith, maybe not even his husband.
