Taeyong pov
«Taeyong...»
I hear a familiar voice calling for me.
«Taeyong wake up...»
«Mom?»
I ask, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes with the back of my hands.
My mom is not looking at me, so I look around, wondering what she's looking at and my heart skips a beat.
Jaehyun. Jaehyun is sleeping half naked, huddled in the sheets and my mom is intensely glancing at the him.
«I-I can explain this mom.»
I try to defend myself, stuttering.
«Let's have a talk with your dad in the living room. You can let your friend sleep for the moment, that's okay.»
My mom calmly says before going out of my room.
I can hear her going downstairs, footsteps resounding in the silent house.
I get out of the warmness of the bed and kiss briefly Jaehyun's cheek, careful to not waking him up.
I close the door gently behind me and stop to think a bit.
That's it, that's the moment, I'm going to come out to my parents. I can't lie to them anymore on this; surely not after being caught with Jaehyun in my bed.
When I come into the living room, my mom and my dad are sitting together on the couch, waiting for me.
I do not sit; I stand still in front of them. I close my eyes for a second to search all the strength I have in me.
«I have something to tell you.»
I say slowly, articulating every word, trying to sound calm when it's the chaos in my head.
My parents don't say anything, they just nod their heads, waiting for me to continue.
«Don't hate me please.»
I tell quickly.
I take a deep breath, anxiety growing.
What if they kick me out?
There's no turning back now.
«I'm gay.»
I finally tell.
Tears automatically start to roll on my cheeks, I don't even bother to wipe them off.
I don't exactly know what I feel right now, but it's intense.
My parents don't say anything for almost a minute, they just stare at each other in silence. I can't catch what they're thinking.
«Taeyong.»
My mom calls me.
«We love you, you're our only child, we just want you to be happy.»
My mom tells me, her usual soft tone. I can't see disgust or shame in her eyes, the only thing I see is the love of a mom for her son.
«Thank you so much for not hating me, I love you.»
I say before bursting in tears.
My parents rush to take me in their arms. I let myself cry in the invigorating embrace.
«We could never hate you.»
My dad comforts me before placing a kiss on the top of my head.
«Taeyong are you okay?»
I jump a bit at the voice of Jaehyun.
He is standing in the stairs, looking at the scene with confusion.
«Why are you crying? Is everything fine?»
«I came out.»
Jaehyun opens his mouth wide, processing the information. He surely didn't expect this, neither did I.
I turn to my parents.
«Mom, dad, let me introduce you Jaehyun, my boyfriend.»
«Nice to meet you.»
My dad says happily as Jaehyun comes to greet my parents.
The sigh of Jaehyun shaking hands with my dad seems surrealist.
There's not awkwardness in the air. Just love and tolerance.
Jaehyun turns toward me after greeting my parents, and with a wide smile on the face, locks our lips together.
I feel like I finally can be who I really am.
«You'll never have to hide anymore sweetie. I'm proud of you. I'm so proud of you.»
Jaehyun whispers softly in my ear. His hot breath on my skin gives me goosebumps.
«Does Johnny still eat with us tonight?»
My mom asks me when Jaehyun and I move back.
«Yes he does! He's very excited about it.»
I answer.
«Jaehyun would you join us?»
My dad offers to Jaehyun.
«I don't want to bother.»
Jaehyun politely declines the offer.
I kick his arm gently.
«You're not a bother, it'll be a pleasure to have you with us.»
I comfort him, begging him to say yes in my head.
«Please.»
I shoot him with my puppy eyes to convince him.
«Okay then, it'll be with pleasure.»
Jaehyun smiles at my parents, his dimples showing.
«You look skinnier, did you eat enough lately?»
My mom suddenly questions me.
«Don't worry, I'm fine.»
I assure.
Lie.
I feel Jaehyun's gaze on me. Does he know that I lied? I didn't talk about this with him yet.
«We're going to prepare the dinner!»
My mom exclaims, clapping her hands loudly before dragging my dad into the kitchen with her.
«Let's go back into the room.»
I suggest.
«Your dad was looking intensely at our hickeys.»
Jaehyun tells suddenly, giggling.
«Oh god I forgot this!»
I exclaim, touching my skin with the tips of my fingers.
«You even have a bite mark here.»
Jaehyun laughs, pointing at my bitten skin.
«Don't say that it's embarrassing!»
I'm pretty sure I'm a blushing mess now.
When I open my room's door I instantly jump in my bed, Jaehyun laughs a bit at the childish act but does the same.
«I want to cuddle please!»
Jaehyun says, pouting cutely.
«Come here baby.»
I stretch my arms open for him. Our legs are intertwining, and our foreheads are touching. I feel like we're in warm bubble, safe from the outside world, just him and I.
«I'm so proud of you.»
Jaehyun tells me, his thumb caressing softly my cheek, erasing my dry tears.
«You came out to your parents. That's so courageous.»
«Thank you. I was scared, I really thought they were going to have a bad reaction.»
I confess.
«Your parents are sweet; I wish my dad could be like that...»
Jaehyun sighs loudly at the mention of his dad.
«What's with your dad?»
I question. It's the first time he talks about his dad.
«He's an absolute bastard, he was beating Jaemin and I.»
«Is he still beating you?»
I ask, worried for Jaemin and Jaehyun's safety.
«Not since Jaemin's sick, now he's just overworking to avoid the situation. But if I come out to him, he's surely going to kill me, he's ultra violent.»
Jaehyun is tearing up at the thought.
«Don't cry, you'll be okay.»
I comfort him, holding him tighter.
«I want you to think about something.»
«About what?»
«You could come live here with my parents and I; they'll be okay with that; I'll explain them why, they'll understand.»
I tell him. I'm one hundred percent sure my parents will be okay if I explain them that Jaehyun's in danger at his house.
«I'll think about it.»
Jaehyun agrees.
«Thank you, baby.»
I kiss him briefly on the lips.
«Tae'! Jaehyun! Johnny's here!»
My mom yells at us from downstairs.
We get up but before going out of the room I stop him to say a thing.
«I swear Johnny's not mad at you anymore, he's sincerely ready to give you a second chance. I was surprised when he told me you came to his house.»
«I wanted to talk to him face to face so I went to his house.»
Jaehyun simply tells.
«Wait! How did you have his address? And how did you have mine when you came for the first time?»
I question him, I never told him my address nor Johnny's.
«Doyoung, the school's nurse, he's a long friend, we were neighbors when we were younger, our families were closed. I asked him for your addresses, that's how I also knew in which room we were staying at in the hospital.»
«He looks nice.»
I just answer.
«He is. He tried to protect Jaemin and I from my father. But when my mom killed herself, we moved and Doyoung couldn't protected us anymore.»
Jaehyun tells, eyes staring at an invisible point on the wall.
I take his hand in mine, squeezing it.
«I'm here now, I'll protect you.»
Jaehyun kisses me again, in a more passionate way this time. The kiss is long and hot.
When we move back, we're almost out of breath
«They're probably waiting for us.»
Jaehyun says and we laugh; I almost forgot they're waiting for us downstairs.
«Come on baby, let's have a great evening all together.»
