Special thanks to Loverofpearz for recommending to discuss Charles Dickens!

Hello readers and writers!

Welcome to this week's discussion on the Victorian and English writer, Charles Dickens (1812 - 1870).

Where to begin? His writings range from plays like Oliver Twist, novels like Barnaby Rudge, A Tale of Two Cities, Great Expectations, and short stories like one which contributed to being one of the first Christmas books, A Christmas Carol. These are a few examples of his multiple writings and narratives.

This discussion welcomes any questions, interests in asking and talking about specific writings and his personal life, what cultural aspects might have influenced him as a writer, and many more.

Here's one prompt that could help spark the conversation:

1.  Imagine Charles Dickens was alive in modern day, 1980s to 2010s, would you think his writings would be similar? Themes? Would Oliver Twist be about a pickpocket? Would Charles have posted Great Expectations on Wattpad instead of the weekly periodical?

We enjoy seeing your responses! We can't wait to read and talk with you!

Also, please leave in comment below, if you have an author in mind to talk about. We love to add a chapter to discuss the writer.

Thank you! Have fun!
