Naruto just goes to the dove cage and yanks open the door letting doves fly off into freedom. He watches them go and fly off. 'That's what I want to be...to be free...'
"I don't know where he gets it from. His mother wasn't nearly so picky." A shadow falls over Minato. He looks up startled and sees Orochimaru
"Ah, Orochimaru—my most trusted advisor. I am desperate need of your wisdom."
"My life is but to serve you, my lord" He bows
"It's this suitor business. Naruto refuses to
choose a wife. I'm at my wit's end!"
"Awk! Wit's-end" Kabuto mocked
"Perhaps a I can divine a solution to this thorny problem" he said
"If anyone can help, it's you." Minato said
"Ah, but it would require the use of the mystic blue diamond?"
"Uh, my ring? But it's been in the family for years. I couldn't possibly do that"
"It is necessary to find the prince a suitor." Orochimaru said as he looked at his staff and then the eyes of the staff begin to glow. The room darkens, Orochimaru's voice slows down and deepens. The Minato's eyes get a hypnotized look.
"Don't worry. Everything will be fine." He said
"Everything...will be...fine." Minato said slowly
"The diamond." He commanded
"Here, Orochimaru. Whatever you need will be fine." He unwilling said as he removed the ring from his finger and hands it to Orochimaru. Everything goes back to normal but Minato is still hypnotized.
"You are most gracious, my liege. Now run along and do what you need to do"
"Yes...that'll be...pretty good."
____Later that Night____
Naruto put in his disguise and went back into the garden. He reached the palace walls and began to climb it until he is tugged from behind by Kurama.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Kurama but I can't stay here and have my life lived for me. I'll miss you" he said as he begins to climb again, and is helped up by Kurama, who began to whine and whimper.
"Good bye!" He whispered as he disappeared over the wall.
____in the morning____
Sasuke and Shiro are back to their daily routine and are on top of the fruit stand.
"Okay, Shiro. Go!" Sasuke said as Shiro dips over the edge and looks at the proprietor.
As the proprietor talks to the crowd, Shiro graves and melon. He continues to hang there, distracting the proprietors attention
"Hey, get your paws off that!" He yelled
"Blah blah blah!" Shiro "mocked"
"Why, you! Get away from here, you filthy ape!" He yelled as he grabbed the melon away from Shiro but in the foreground, Sasuke dips down and snatches another melon from the stand.
"Bye bye!" Shiro says as the proprietor takes the melon to the front, where he places it on top of a stack. He looks confused, like he has just done this.
"Nice goin' Shiro." He said as he broke the melon and started to eat.
"handsome young man, buy a sword. No finer sword in brass or silver." Someone said
"Sugar dates, sugar dates and figs! Sugar dates and pistachios!"
"Would the lady like a necklace. A pretty necklace for a pretty lady" someone was talking to a woman. Naruto continued walked and was fascinated by the action, but is startled by a fish thrust into her face.
"Fresh fish! We catch 'em, you buy 'em!"
"Yeah I don't think so. " he said as he backs away, but bumps into a fire eater, who is startled into swallowing his fire.
"Oh sorry, excuse me. " he said as the man gulps, then belches fire from his mouth. Naruto just continued to walked. Sasuke looks around to see Naruto in the distance.
"He looks new...quite charming too..." he said to himself.
Naruto pulls the hood from his cloak over his head and then Shiro notice Sasuke. He jumped on Sasuke's shoulder while waving his hand in front in Sasuke's face
"Uh oh. Hello? Hello?" Shiro said
Naruto stops at the fruit stand and sees a young homeless child reaching for a piece of fruit. He picks one up and gives it to him.
"Oh, you must be hungry. Here you go" naruto smiled and the boy runs off.
"You'd better be able to pay for that." The man said
"Pay?" Naruto asked
"No one steals from my cart!"
"O-Oh, I'm sorry sir. I don't have any money...y'know?"
"Thief!" He yelled
"What no! That not it at all! Please, if you let me go to the palace, I can get some from the Sultan!" Naruto said, shaking quite a bit.
"Do you know what the penalty is for stealing?" The proprietor asked as he took Narutos hand and pined it down on the table, intending to chop it off.
"N-No, no please!" The blonde pleaded as the knife dropped but was stopped but someone.
"Thank you kind sir. I'm so glad you've found him. I've been looking all over for you"
"What are you doing?" Naruto asked in a whisper
"Just play along" Sasuke whispered back
"You know this boy?"
"Sadly, yes. This dobe right here is my brother. He's a little crazy." The raven said making up stuff from the spot.
The proprietor grabs Sasuke by the vest. "He said He knows the Sultan!"
"He thinks the monkey is the Sultan" sasuke said as he tried to get Shiros attention. Naruto, playing along, knelt down and bowed to Shiro
"Oh, wise Sultan. How may I serve you?
"Well, blah blah blah blah"
"Tragic, isn't it?" Sasuke asked as he leans forward, picking up another apple from the cart with his foot but, no harm done. Sasuke then walked over to Naruto
"Now come along brother. Time to see the doctor." He said
"Oh, um hello doctor." Naruto said to a camel
"How are you?"
"No, no, no. Not that one." Sasuke sighed.
After a while, Naruto climbs the ladder as Sasuke waits for Naruto
"Almost there dobe" he said as Naruto climbs over the top but trips. Naruto just closed his eyes as he was ready for impact.
"You alright?" Sasuke asked as he held Naruto in his arms
"I-I...Thank you...for that and saving me back there" Naruto said
"forget it...So, uh, this is your first time in the marketplace, huh?" Sasuke asked as he vaults to the next building leaving Naruto behind
"Is it that obvious?"
"Well, you do kinda stand out..." he said as he started at him and soon Naruto returns the look. Before anything else could happen, Sauske realized what he was going and look off somewhere else
"I mean, uh, you don't seem to know how dangerous Konaha can be" Sasuke lays a plank between the buildings for her to walk over, but as he is leaned down, she vaults over his head. Sasuke looks back in surprise. He tosses the pole to sasuke while both Shiro and Sasuke's eyes widened
"What? I'm a fast learner" he shrugged
"Sure, uh this way." Sasuke said as they go inside the roof of a building, dodging planks and beams as they go.
"Whoa. Watch your head there. Be careful." The raven hair male said
"I-Is this where you live?" The blonde asked
"Yep. Just me and Shiro. Come and go as we please." Sasuke slightly smiled
"Wow...it looks Fabulous." He mumbled
"It's not much, but it's got a great view." The elder said as he opened the curtains.
"Palace looks pretty amazing, huh?" He asked
"Oh, it's wonderful" Naruto mumbled
"I wonder what it would be like to live there, to have servants and valets..."
"Oh, sure. People who tell you where to go and how to dress." Naruto said a bit annoyed
"It's better than here, I'll say that. Always scraping for food and ducking the guards...it's basically all we do here"
"You're not free to make your own choices..." naruto said
"Sometimes you feel so—" Sasuke paused
"You're just—" Naruto paused
"Trapped" they both say. They looked at each other realizing that they were the same.
"...So, where're you from?" The raven haired male asked
"What does it matter? I ran away, and it's not like I'm going back" Naruto snapped as Sauske gave him an apple
"Really?" He takes a bite from the apple in his hand, then hands it to Shiro, who has a disgusted look on his face.
"Why you!" Shiro said as Sasuke went to sit next to Naruto
"My father's forcing me to get married..." naruto frowned
"That's--that's awful." He said. Then Shiro appears from behind Naruto and tries to steal his apple
"Shiro!" Sasuke glared
"What?" Naruto asked confused
"U-Uh. Shiro just says that—uh—that's not fair"
"What? Shiro asked as
"Wait really?! I—I uh mean did he?"
"Yeah, of course."
"A-And does Shiro have anything else to say?" "Well, uh, he wishes there was something he could do to help."
"Oh, boy!" Shiro pouted
"Hmm, tell him that's very sweet of him" he smiled. After a while, Sasuke and Naruto gradually get closer. Sasuke leans in to kiss him until one of the guard barge in.
"Here you are!" The guard said
"They've found me!" They both said to each other
"They're after you?" They asked each other
"My father must have sent them—"
"Do you trust me?" Sasuke asked
"What?" The blonde asked
"Do you trust me?" The raven asked again as he extended his hand towards Naruto.
"Yeah" he said as he held Sasuke's hand.
"Then jump!" He said as they both jumped off the roof and land on a pile of salt. They tried to get away but a guard was blocking the exit.
"We just keep running into each other, don't we, street rat?" He smirked. Then Shiro goes to the guard and pulled his pants down but more guards had shown up. One of the Castle guards pulled Shiro off his head and threw him in a vase while three other guards took hold of Sasuke.
"It's the dungeon for you, street rat" the guard said
"Hey, get off of me!" He said as he struggled to get out of their grasp
"Hey! Let go of him!" Naruto ordered
"Look what we have here, men--a street mouse." He said as Naruto pulled his hood of his cloak off his head
"Unhand him, by order of the Prince!" Naruto ordered As the guards just bow down making Sasuke to bow to
"Prince Naruto..."
"The Prince?" Sasuke asked confused. Shiro decided to peek out from the vase
"The prince?" Shiro asked
"What are you doing outside the palace? And with that street rat?" He asked
"That's not your concern Yamato! Do as I command. Release him!" Naruto said
"Well, I would, prince, but my orders come from lord Orochimaru. You'll have to take it up with him." Yamato said as the other guards dragged Sasuke away
"Believe me when I say...I will" Naruto said sternly
When Naruto got back to the palace, he was in pure anger. How could they do that to someone as nice and caring as him? 'He literally saved my life and this is what they do?' Naruto thought as he saw Orochimaru in the distance
"Orochimaru?!"
"Oh, uh, Prince"
"Awk! Orochimaru, I'm stuck!" Kabuto said
"So How may I be of service to you?" He spreads out his own cape, hiding the door.
"The guards just took a boy from the market, on your orders." He said
"Your father's charged me with keeping peace in Konaha. The boy was a criminal"
"And What was the crime?!"
"Why, kidnapping the princess, of course."
"He didn't kidnap me! I ran away!" Naruto yelled
Orochimaru, Walking away as if shocked said "Oh, dear! Oh, why frightfully upsetting. Had I but known."
"W-What do you mean?" The blonde asked
"Sadly, the boy's sentence has already been carried...out."
"W-W-What sentence?" Naruto asked as he wish it wouldn't come down to one thing...
"Death" he said in a sinister tone. Naruto gasped
"By beheading" he said
"No! You wouldn't! I won't allow you too! He saved my life Y'know?! If it weren't for him, I wouldn't lost a hand!" Naruto yelled as he collapsed to the floor
"I am exceedingly sorry, Naruto"
"H-How could you?" He said sternly as he ran to his room in tears.
