Soobin is leaning against the window while sitting, feeling the roof with his exposed legs.
He fixed his gaze on the sleeping pill bottle in his possession. Without knowing whether or not he actually packed it there, he unintentionally discovered it inside his suitcase. The last time he took one was two months ago, and the bottle is still halfway full.
Soobin tried to recall the last time he had one. Before he even started taking the pills, he was aware that doing so would not be helpful to him. However, he has no choice because it's the only thing he can think of that might put him to sleep.
He is aware that he has insomnia, but he has never bothered to talk to a professional about it, instead opting to simply buy some over-the-counter sleeping pills.
In a way, it did help him fall asleep, but the pills left him feeling extremely sleepy in the mornings.
His best friend, Beomgyu, noticed his consistent morning drowsiness right away. You really can't keep anything from that boy. With that ability of his, he might as well be a detective or something similar because he will still find you even if you are hiding in a country that is the furthest away from Korea.
One day Beomgyu approached him and began questioning him about it. Of course, Soobin attempted to lie about it, but Beomgyu is simply too observant to miss it before Soobin could even finish.
So, Soobin told Beomgyu everything about his sleeping problems.
When it started.
Why he thought it started.
The sleeping pills.
Everything. Not missing a single detail.
Beomgyu reacted exactly as he had expected. Beomgyu hit Soobin in the head with such force that it hurt like he was several feet taller than him despite being shorter and having a smaller build. Even though it was extremely painful, Soobin knew he deserved it.
Beomgyu gave him a long-winded lecture about which he could write a book. Because of his "words of wisdom", Beomgyu has occasionally led Soobin to believe that he is actually a hundred-year-old man trapped in a twenty-year-old body.
Soobin unexpectedly laughed during one of Beomgyu's infamous lectures, leading the other to believe that he was not taking the matter seriously.
But in actuality, Soobin's heart is always warmed by listening to Beomgyu's lengthy lectures. It's because it constantly serves as a reminder that someone still cares about him.
His parents never cared about him the same way Beomgyu does. It's like his parents only gives him the time of their day when he fails an exam or when he gets a low grade. They care about his grades way too much, they even got him a personal tutor to make sure that he will not slack off. Even letting them study until midnight for the sake of his grades.
Soobin thinks that it's one of the many reasons why he started having troubles falling asleep.
At first, he would simply wake up in the middle of the night and have trouble falling back to sleep. Then, things got worse; he discovered that he was unable to sleep for more than a few minutes at a time and would instead sit in his bedroom and stare at the ceiling until the sun appeared in the sky to take the place of the moon and stars.
His parents won't even listen to him, so he never considered telling them about it. They'll probably just say he's making it up to get him to stop feeling under pressure to do well in school and raise his GPA before the dreaded CSAT, the college entrance exam, which determines whether or not he gets into a particular school.
Soobin's glad that he had Beomgyu to talk about his problems and worries in life. He noticed that after talking to Beomgyu about his sleeping problems, he managed to fall asleep even for just about 2 hours and that's a really big thing.
He also stopped taking the sleeping pills or else, he will have to face Beomgyu's wrath about him taking it even without consulting a doctor. He can remember Beomgyu's words playing in his head clearly.
Health is wealth Soobin. Health is wealth. SO START TAKING CARE OF YOURS!

"CHOI SOOBIN THE MAN THAT YOU ARE TODAY!"
"CHOI BEOMGYU WILL YOU CALM THE FUCK DOWN?" Soobin shouted back at his best friend, half laughing and half annoyed.
He may or may have not accidentally sent the picture of the both of them that Yeji took last night when he was just trying to send the pictures of the night sky.
I should've not let her borrow my phone. Damn it.
"Okay okay." Beomgyu raised his arms up in surrender, "So... Who's the girl?"
Soobin rolls his eyes at the question, "I told you Gyu, she's no one."
"How can she be no one? I mean come on. You were ranting about how she's the 'most annoying person I've ever met' ---"
"Was that supposed to be me? I don't sound like that."
"Stop changing the subject Soobin." Beomgyu gritted his teeth at him for interrupting him, "Where was I... you have a picture of the two of you sitting together on your roof! Care to explain why?"
Soobin's been in the situation a thousand of times before so he sighs before telling Beomgyu the story why they both end up on his roof in the middle of the night.
"I like her already Soobin." Beomgyu chuckled, somehow finding Soobin's struggles dealing with the girl funny.
It's nothing close to funny.
Soobin was so close to ripping his hair off of his head because of Beomgyu's teasing remarka the whole time he was telling the story.
"What's her name again?"
"Why? Do you want to follow her on her sns account and ask her to be your girlfriend? I'm sorry Gyu but I don't think sns exists around here?"
"Woah woah!" Beomgyu exclaimed, "Where is that coming from Bin? I was just asking for the girl's name, why are you already so possessive of her? I'm not gonna take her away from you I promise! You don't have to be jealous."
Soobin frowned at his friend's red face from laughing too much. He's definitely enjoying teasing Soobin. "What the hell?! I'm not jealous you idiot!"
"Hmm 'kay."
Soobin can still sense the teasing tone in Beomgyu's voice so he told him her name to stop him, "Her name's Hwang Yeji."
"Hwang Yeji. So that's the name of the girl who's constantly pulling you off your shell and driving you over the edge huh?" Beomgyu wiggled his brows teasingly at Soobin.
"You know what Gyu? If I could, I would definitely be strangling you right now."
"Please, I know for sure that you will never ever do that to the best best friend in the whole universe." Beomgyu huffed and crossed his arms on his chest smugly.
Ting. Ting.
Soobin hears his phone ringing because of some notifications. An uknown number has sent him a text message.
Soobin clicks on the message and he immediately frowns when he sees it.

Yeonjun told me that u will be coming later to hang out with us? U will enjoy it I promise, you can meet all our friends!

"What's with the frown? Who texted you?"
Soobin heard Beomgyu ask, he almost forgets that he's still on the other line, "Ugh who else? That annoying girl."
"Wait what? She already has your number?" Beomgyu's eyes widened, "I must say, you work fast Choi Soobin."
"I really really want to strangle you right now. And she was the one who fooled me into using my phone to get my number by the way." Soobin explained,
"Okay. What's the text about?"
"She just told me that she will see me later. Well I may or may not agreed to hanging out with some of the locals our age earlier." Soobin confessed, bracing himself from another outburst from Beomgyu.
"WHAT? YOU DID? TELL ME EVERYTHING BIN!" Beomgyu shouted enthusiastically, "YOU MANAGED TO TALK TO SOMEONE OTHER THAN ME AND YOU EVEN GOT INVITED TO HANG OUT WITH THEM AND YOU EVEN AGREED! I'M VERY VERY PROUD OF YOU!"
"I really don't get why we became best friends, Gyu." Soobin stated, sighing as he looks at his best friend who's wiping fake tears from his eyes while fanning himself weirdly.
