Quietly Minhyunk lead everyone into the living room once everyone gotten situated Minhyunk smiled softly as he held onto Sunhi's hand tightly. Scanning the familiar faces of his family and the unfamiliar faces who came along with his brother he made an decision that everyone needed to be on first named bases at first before they can continue.
"Umm, before we tell you our story Jongin why don't all of us learn each other's names first"
Kai looked over to to Suho " would you want me to do it or..."
" go for it Nini," Suho said gently notice the tension in the air had thicken when the family stepped into the living room kai fidgeted slightly
"Ummm, okay." Kai looked to his side "this is Kyungsoo,"
kyungsoo smiled softly " you can also call me D.O"
Kai continues down his group of friends one by one adding a little commentary to lighten the mood a little despite the sinking feeling growing in the pit of his stomach. Smiling to himself at Beakhyun uncanny ways of brighten the mood he mouthed a thank you his way. " last but not least our second leader with a permanent scowl on his face Yifan but we normally call him kris instead."
The one the one by the name of kris shot Kai a playful glare softened his features giving a slight smile.
Minhyunk smiled "it's nice to meet you all" he placed his eyes on Kai again, " I know you all are wondering why our sister started crying after reader the words off the back of kai's bracelet" he paused for a minute as if he was searching for the right words, "it's a gift we all received from our dead parents..."
The room grew erily quite kyungsoo grabbed a hold of Kai's hand as wide eyes stayed trained on his face studying his reaction. Lay, Suho, Luhan, Beakhyun, and Chen covered the mouths in surprise. Everyone else bodies grew ridged from the shock of the news,
Eric continued the conversation " it's been eight years now since their death. We promised to tell you what happened to them Jongin but if your-
" I want to know. I need to know," Kai stopped Eric mid sentence staring straight into each of his siblings eyes
Eric nodded his head in response he looked over to SunHi meeting her eyes "
Do you want to start it off? It happened to you." As softly as possible asked Eric
Sunhi took a deep breath as she unconsciously ringed her her fingers together. Sungjae placed his hand on Sunhi's knee, "twin you don't have to if you don't feel mentally up for it"
Without looking up from her hands Sunhi frowned and shook her head, " I was there when it happened, I have to" she responded quietly
Sunhi stayed quite for a minute before she lifted her head up to look Kai directly in the eyes voided of any emotions. Which shocked Kai at how empty they looked to them her body language also changed along with her facial expression. Kai trimbled from the emery his baby sister was give off at this very moment leaving him wondering what exactly happened to her the day his parents died.
"I remember that like it was yesterday, I was six years Mom had given our uncle who happens to be our dad's adopted brother, the okay to let me go get ice cream because I was upset that my brothers were going to the park and they wouldn't let me go along with them. So I was pretty sad about it but our mom had to finish a few things for work so she couldn't tag along. With a kiss on my forehead, a warm hug and I love you she sent me off with our uncle waving goodbye happily." Sunhi smiled slightly at the happy memory " everything seemed okay our uncle sung along to the songs on the radio with me and took me to a near by flower shop to get me a single yellow lily with the sweetest scent I've ever smelled around that time. Once I've gotten a single scoop of strawberry ice in a cup our uncle wanted to walk to the near by park to cheer me up. I was so happy that I blindly followed him into a area where barely anyone was around straight into a alleyway He stopped abruptly causing me bump into him. Before I could question anything all I can remember is a dark shadow looming over me, me screaming and him watching from a distance before everything went black."
The atmosphere of the room grew tremendously tense as Sunhi explained her story, " when I actually woke up everything was dark I couldn't see a thing, my head was pounding, my ears began to ring a little but I could still hear was the sound a dripping water in the distance and smell a god awful oder that I couldn't quit put my finger on. I could tell I was sitting on a chair my hands were tied up along with my legs which caused me to panic. I couldn't see nor move I was stuck so I did what any kid would do cry and call out for my parents. I must have annoyed the person who was standing out the door because he screamed at me to shut the hell up before He give something to cry about. Mind you I barely turned six the caused my cry even hard which made the man even more angry because next thing I know I was crying out in pain with my cheeks stinging. Since I still made a noise I received more of the some punishment my face by now was numb my lip was swollen and tears still fell as I whimpered out for my uncle. That's when our uncle decided to speak up I don't know if he was watching this happen or he happen just walked but Six year old me was relieved that the man stopped punishing me. I felt hands untie the rag from around my eyes allowing my eyes to adjust to a dimly lit room I was placed in." Sunhi face finally showed some emotion it's was pure anger her hands curled into fist until her knuckles turned white and blood began to drip from them from how much force she had them curled up.
Lay immediately jumped up from where he was sitting and quickly knelt in front of Sunhi smiling softly. One by one he grabbed her hands and gently encouraged her to uncurl them. He examines the wonds before both of his hands above hers, " you have to be careful when you do this. It can cause damage to the nerves in your hands" lay removed his hands revealing smooth skin smiling Lay looked into Sunhi widen eyes "be careful, okay" in response she thanked my quitely lay quickly returned to his seat next to Suho smiling softly
Sunhi stared at her hands a little longer before clearing her throat to continue, "um, our uncle looked clean nothing was out of place he had changed into a suit. He leaned down so he was eye level to me giving me the chilling smile and said everything is okay Sunhi as long as you behave you won't get hurt. But the
first sentence I said triggered something in him, I wanted to know where my daddy was and asked him why he was doing this to me. I don't know how long the beating lasted I was covered in so many bruises some were already turned to this horrible color. I couldn't breathe properly now I'm positive I had a broken rib or two I don't know I just remember I was in so much pain and wanted to go home. He was so angry at what I didn't know."
MinHyunk jumped in to fill in "I remember our parent frantically trying to get in touch with our uncle that night with little to no luck. Beyond worried at this point both our parents decided to go looking for them so mom called our grandparents to come watch us and asked me and Daesoo to help them if they needed help with anything while they were gone. We were about 15 and 14 around that time, so we remember quite a bit of what was happening even when they tried to make things seem like everything was okay." Daesoo signal to Sunhi to continue
" I must have passed out from my injuries because the sounds of gunfire and shouting is what woke me up. God I was so scared that night I really thought I was going die. I heard footsteps running towards the room I was in, whoever was trying to get in was slamming their body against the door to force it open. One the frame gave in that's when I saw dad I cried my eyes out at the sight of him, mom followed behind gasping at the sight of my body." A sad smile formed on Sunhi's face " she tried to hide the horror in her as she wiped the tears and dried blood off my face telling me that everything is okay. Dad gently ushered her to untied hands and feet while he try his best to calm me down knowing mom was a mess from seeing me in such a state. Calmly he checked my injuries angrily talked to mom about our uncle, that when he, our uncle decided to grace us with is presence joined by about thirty men. Him and dad began arguing about how our uncle grew jealous of our dad apparently they both loved our mom but our mom loved dad. He could stand the fact that he was rejected and if he couldn't have her then no one can. I remember him aiming a gun towards us as he told our dad that if he have to he'll even kill us, their kids... for our mom, thats when dad shot in leg." Sunhi pauses longer than last trying to keep in her tears by biting her lip. Sungjae placed a arm around her
"He laughed hysterically slowly standing back on to his feet, mom went in front of me telling me how much she loved us that they will always be there. She hugged me I felt her tears damp the shirt I worn that day dad turn around fully mouthing the I words I love you as I watched him get shot with so many bullets. Mom tried her best to keep my eyes in here gaze but all I could see was his lifeless body laying there. I felt her trembling lips place a gental kiss on my forehand before stand in front of me ready to shot knowing she was out numbered she still aimed her gun. But before she could pull the trigger they were ready and shot her before she could there was so much blood and I couldn't stop screaming. I... I held on to them shaking for them to wake up but they didn't I watched they bleed out in front of me as our uncle laughed saying that he'll back for me and my brothers when we are older how he wants us to feel hatred towards the man who took our parents away. He left me there for I don't know how long trying to hold on to our parents cold no lifeless body. Next there I remember is waking up three days later in a hospital bed." Sunhi allowed the tears to finally fall silently
The room stayed quite for what seems like hours as everyone process the horrific incident Sunhi had to experience as a young child and the tragedy of their beloved parents death. Sunhi looked up from her lap towards their guest and brother Kai was being held by kyungsoo as he cried into his arms the rest of them had tears in their eyes. Suho who seemed to be a tad bit calmer stood up and walked over to Sunhi offering his hand. Stunned and a little confused Sunhi accepted his hand only to be pulled into such a loving hug it was so warm and the fragrance of his body mist gently soothed her frigid body. Returning the hug Sunhi let it all out she didn't realize she was holding onto so much until now but she glad her brother has such an amazing friend.
"Let it out, I can't imagine going through something like at such a young age. I can read people very well and you've been holding on to a lot more than you led on it can go unnoticed. I can see why now though you want make to sure your brothers don't have to worry about you but it's time to let go." Suho rubbed her back gently encouraging her to let all of her pain go.
