The alleyway- dim, half-lit-
Mysteries lurked with little denouement
The danger, I omit
Inhaling the petrichor scent
That the damp earth will emit
After the rain finally has quit
The alleyway in which only the vile fit
And the wretched sit
Or steal food for hungry mouths and flit
The alleyway with ever present peril in it.
