The next day the five boys stood at the edge of the cliff spitting. Each of them in their underwear and standing in height order from Bill who was the tallest and skinniest of all the boys to Ben who was the shortest.
In the group Bill was around 5'11 towering over the whole group as most of them were still 5'6-7. Where Eileen who they have been friends with since preschool followed Bills height just behind him being around 5'8-5'9.
After each boy had spat Richie smiled, "Oh my god that was terrible I win."
"You won? Did you see mine?"
"Mine went the furthest. It's about distance."
"No it's about mass it's always been about mass."
"Wha-what is mass?"
"Who cares about how far it goes it's about what it looks like if it's juicy and green and it's fat."
"A-Alright who's first."
"I'll go." A voice said from behind them. It was Eileen already stripped down into her underwear her clothes piled nicely on top of her backpack.
Richie rose a eyebrow. "When the fuck did you get here and when did you become so hot?"
"Your way too short for me trashmouth." She replied. The boys cleared way as she ran forwarded and dived into the water down below.
"What the fuck! Ah holy shit we just got shown up by a girl!" Screamed Richie. Eileen couldn't help but laugh.
"We have to do that now?"
"Y-yes."
"Come on!" Richie continued. He ran forward and jumped into the water all the way below.
"Oh shit." Stan mumbled.
One by one each boy dropped into the water. Though after the last person to drop down they heard another splash. "Who the fuck is that."
"You guys though I wouldn't come?" Bevs voice said.
The group remained in the water for a long time splashing each other and playing chicken fight. Durning the chicken fight Eileen got on Bills shoulders and was against Richie who was on top of Bevs.
With one swift motion Richie was in the water. "That is not fucking fair you see those two they're the hight of giants I tell you this is stupid."
"Only a baby because you loosed trash mouth." Eileen teased.
"At least give me a kiss in apology."
"Come here then you baby." Richie walked over and Eileen kissed his cheek before shoving him underwater.
Stanley, Eddie, Ben, Bev and her bursted up in laughter as Richie surfaced the water again. "That was so worth it."
After a few more minutes the group decided to swim back to shore and go up to where their clothes and bikes were dumped earlier that day.
The music played as Beverly and Eileen were sun bathing. Eileen was facing the sky where Beverly was on her stomach. The boys eyes were glued on the two girls and their mouths were open in awe.
Eileen roller her eyes before turning to face the boys quickly they each turned their head around and pretended to be preoccupied. "You guys done looking at us?" She spat.
Richie however got distracted and pulled Bens bag open. "News flash Ben, schools out for summa!"
"Oh that, that's not school stuff." Replied Ben. Richie was still digging in his bag so much he found a post card and pulled it out.
"Who sent you this?"
"No one!" Ben screamed grabbing it quickly. Richie continued to pull stuff out and grabbed a news paper article.
"What's with the history project?" The boy asked before passing the pieces of paper to Bill who was sat a couple of feet away.
This gained Eileen's interest and she got up from her towel and stat beside Bill. She had leaned into him so she got a better view of the news paper herself.
"o-oh when i first moved here I didn't really have anyone to hang out with so i just started spending time at the library."
"You went to the library on purpose?" Richie asked.
Beverly laughed before getting up herself and sitting next to Eileen. "Oo I wanna see."
"What's the blackspot?"
"The black spot was that night club that burned nine years ago by that ..." Richie explained. The boys around had nodded as they listened.
Bill turned to Beverly tilting his head. "Y-y-your hair-"
"-what he's trying to say is that it looks pretty did you cut it?" Interrupted Ben. Beverly looked at ben and smiled before mumbling thank you under her breath.
Richie held his arm out. "Here pass it. Why is it all murders and missing kids?"
"Derry's not like any town i've been in before. There's just something about it that doesn't feel right."
The group got into their clothes, packed everything away then rode to Bens house following him. His house was closer to the quarry than expected, near the outskirts of Derry.
Dumping each of their bikes down they followed Ben into the fairly small home and into his bedroom. Which was covered in posters after posters.
All conversations had stopped when everyone walked into the room. Each began to look at one of the tens of posters plasted along each wall. "Wo wo wo wow!"
"Cool right?"
"No no nothing cool just nothing cool."
"Well this is cool right here look, wait no it's not, no it's not."
"What's that?"
"Uh that? That's the charter for derry township."
"Nerd alert."
"Actually it's pretty interesting. Derry started as a beaver traffi-"
"It still is am I right boys!"
"Ninety one people signed the charter that made Derry but later that winter they all disappeared without a trace."
"The entire camp?"
"There's roomers is Indians but no sign of an attack. Everybody just thought it was a plague or something. But it's like one day everybody just woke up and... left. The only clue was a trail of bloody clothes leading to the well house."
"Jesus we gotta get Derry on unsolved mysteries."
"I don't know, maybe he's trying to make some friends Stanley."
"Where was the well house Ben?" Asked Eileen. Though the chubby boy looked at her and shrugged.
"I dunno somewhere in town I guess." Checking he clock Bill cursed.
Looking at the group he said, "E-Eileen and i have to get going. They're expecting us back."
"Right. See you guys. Tomorrow?" She said. The group nodded in agreement. Waving goodbye to everyone the two had gotten on their bikes and began to make their way back home.
Bill road slowly so Eileen could keep up. "Thanks for that Billy, it just felt weird."
"T-thanks for playing along. If you want do you want to s-stay over t-t-tonight?" He stuttered. Her face lit up.
"Sure." The pair arrived at Eileen's house. She told Bill to meet her at his house in order for her to get some stuff for the night.
Walking into her house she found her grandma staring coldly at the tv whilst knitting. "So you've come home. Which boy were you messing with now. You whore." She spat.
Eileen shrugged it off and made her way to her room. "No one Gran ma ma."
In her room she grabbed some clothes and shoved it into her backpack. Walking into her bathroom she grabbed her toothbrush along with other essential items.
"Where do you think your going."
"Auntie Mariee's house for a sleepover."
"She's no good I tell you, you slut. Roomers been around you've been hanging out with a group of boys. A Tozier kid huh."
"No Grand ma ma." She grumbled. Turning around she slightly pushed her grandma out of the way to get outside.
"You lit-!"
Eileen slammed the door closed and running to her bike which was now on the road. "Eileen! Want to remember how your parents died." A voice slurred.
The girl turned around and faced the drain gulping. "How about you come down here like your little friend Georgie Denborough did. Poor you still hasn't told Billy. Oh Billy if he were to die."
"You are just a clown. You aren't real." She mumbled over and over again.
The clown etched closer to the opening of the drain and smiled. "I was real enough for Georgie. You'd float down here. You'll float down here just like everything does and ever will!" It screamed.
Eileen had panicked and road down the street as fast as she could her heart beating at an insane rate. Dumping her bike in the front yard she knocked on the door intensely and quickly.
"God what is your problem!" His dad hissed opening the door. Once he finally realized who was at the door he allowed the girl in and she rushed up the stairs.
As she passed Georgie's room a chill ran down her spine but she continued through to Bills room who was across the hall. "Bill can i come in."
"Eileen, h-hello." He stammered opening the door.
Though when she wrapped her arms around him tightly he was taken aback and wrapped his arms around her. She was still heavily in shock and the Denborough boy had no clue regarding what had just happened.
