2 weeks later
Amanda's pov
After two days of Simon waking up in the middle of the night and making me eat whatever he bought and two days of him waking up in a fit and trying to hurt me and everyone around him, Eric, Julie, Nicholas and I all decided that I would stay with him till he falls asleep and then swap with Nick so he spends the night next to him and the morning dealing with his violent attacks and that's how its been everyday since. He stares off for longer periods, snaps when questioned on anything that happened and talks to a guy named Michael more and more just in private. Luckily today they guys go back to work and they get tested, they will even ask us about what they are like at home so we can find out if he actually has ptsd or not.
"Amanda, are you ready?" Simon asked dressed in his uniform already
"Yes, have you eaten anything yet?" I asked walking over to him and placing my hand on his chest, I found out that if you ask him questions about food with your hand on his chest he wont get as angry as he would've
"No." Simon said curtly
"Okay lets go" I said knowing he wont eat anything no matter what anyone says, he would just get angry
"Good" Simon nodded limping to the car as his mother carried the crutches
"I still don't understand why he refuses to use those" Nicholas said pointing to the crutches
"Maybe it's like a pride thing" Eric said shrugging
"I hope they figure out what's wrong with him today" Nicholas groaned walking to the car with the others
"Nick don't be rude" Julie said shaking her head as she placed the crutches in the boot
"Mum he is a psychopath now, and it's fucking terrifying" Nick said getting in the car and slamming the door
"He is not a psychopath" Eric said angrily as he too got in the car
"Yes he is, he gets up in the middle of the night calls me Michael and makes me eat and when I don't he gets aggressive with it" Nicholas said folding his arms as Julie and I also got in the car
"See you can't even deny it cause you know it's true" Nick said, I looked at Simon sat in the middle of Nick and I to see if he was paying attention to any of this and sighed in relief as I noticed he was just staring off
"He is sitting right next to you and if he really is one you should probably shut up" Julie said looking back at him "and besides that he isn't even supposed to know you sleep next to him instead of Amanda" She added
"He isn't even listening, he is in his own little world thinking about god knows what! Probably a way to kill us all" Nick said
"I am listening, I know you sleep next to me and I don't want to kill anyone" Simon mumbled continuing to stare off,
I looked around me and noticed that everyone of them were just staring at him not knowing what to say or do, "Stop staring at me" Simon said now looking at them but they didn't so Simon stared off again
"You all really think I'm a psychopath don't you?" Simon muttered
"No of course we don't" I said softly
"Speak for yourself" Nicholas said suddenly getting his voice back after the shock
"Nick, shut it" Eric said
"Say I am one Nick? How are you going to defend yourself when I'm awake all night while you sleep? How are you going to stop me if I decide I've had enough of you calling me pyscho and a loser? You've never had training where as I have, I been trained to kill people" Simon said his voice low as he looked right at Nick
"Y-you're awake at night?" Nick stuttered moving as far away from him as possible
"Yes I am, but you don't know that cause I never hurt in your sleep" Simon said looking away again
"You know this whole time I wasn't lying with you?" I asked suddenly feeling guilty
"Yeah, just cause I'm looking somewhere doesn't mean I can't hear what you are saying, most of you have said things you wouldn't ever say to my face thinking I can't hear you but then you expect me to tell you what happened to me" Simon said
"The only person I can trust in this car is Amanda cause instead of calling me insane or anything along those lines she just holds me or even tries to talk to me." Simon added sniffling softly
"We are so sorry Simon" Julie said as tears surfaced in her eyes reaching for his hand and holding it tightly but Simon pulled it away and put his hand in mine
"Don't touch me" Simon whispered
"Si, I know you're angry and you have every right but your mum really does love you and she is really sorry" I said softly
"Nothing says love like saying there is something psychopathic and fucked up and about your son, screw saying she loves me or just giving me a hug" Simon said angrily letting go of my hand too
"You can't blame us for thinking you are pyscho you've been acting like one since the day you came home, always talking to yourself, staring off and having violent episodes and let's not forget your mood swings. If mum hugs you, you would probably try to fucking kill her" Nicholas said "you even just let go of your girlfriends hand ,who you said was the only person you can trust, cause she said that mum loves you and said she was sorry" He added hitting Simon as hard as he could out of anger
"Nick!" Eric and Julie both shouted, "don't hit him" Eric said and Julie nodded
"No, he always hits me every morning he can deal with this!" Nicholas shouted hitting Simon again
"Stop" Simon said quietly but Nicholas ignored him and carried on trying to hurt him.
Julie's pov
As I was trying to get Nicholas to stop hitting Simon Eric pulled the car over to help when Simons eyes changed back to that same look he gets every time he as a violent episode in the mornings and sometimes at just random times in the day and I guess both Amanda and Nicholas recognized it cause they both jumped out of the car but instead of trying to hurt them Simon curled up into a ball and whispered something about not knowing where someone was repeatedly.
After finally managing to snap him out of whatever he was in we were all on our way back to the military base with Simon lying with his head on Amanda's lap and feet on Nicks who after seeing that scene apologized profusely and hugged Simon almost half to death cause he felt guilty.
David's pov
As walked to the main base with Alesha for my tests I noticed Simon with his family and Amanda so we quickly made our way over to them
"Hey David, Alesha" Nick smiled noticing us first
"Hey Nick" We both smiled hugging him, "Hello Mr and Mrs Cowell" We both smiled shaking their hands
"Hello, how are you two doing?" They both asked smiling
"We are good thanks and you?" We asked
"Good, thank you" Julie and Eric said so we quickly said hi to Amanda and Simon
"Are you ready for your tests?" I asked Simon
"I guess" Simon shrugged not looking as confident as he normally is but I decided not to comment on it knowing that he isn't very stable at the minute
"And how are you coping with the injuries?" I asked
"Its not anything I have experienced before" Simon said shrugging again
"I guess not but I can imagine it hurts" I sighed
"Let's just get these tests over with" Simon said turning and walking to the building we were supposed to go too. The rest of us just followed him warily
"You know about everything, don't you?" Julie whispered
"Yeah" I whispered "I told the others so they don't mention anything about it" I added
Julie nodded walking closer to Eric again.
After sitting in the waiting room for the others to show up for a few minutes they finally showed up and the first person to go in was Simon because he was the one to most likely come out of it with the most mental health issues. So we waited patiently for him to come out and when he finally did he only spoke to let Amanda, his parents and brother know that they can go in.
"So, how was it?" Stephen asked
"Lets just say that I'm probably not going to have a job by the end of today" Simon sighed looking around him
"I'm sure you will" Michelle, Stephens wife said softly
"I snapped at her and then I couldn't concentrate on her cause I couldn't stop thinking about something" Simon said shrugging "And my family are going to tell her I lost my mind" He added
"Why would they call you insane mate?" Ant asked confused
"They think I'm insane and they are probably right" Simon said
"You aren't insane mate" Dec said patting Simon on the back
"Mr Cowell? Can you come in here please" The psychologist asked walking out the room with Simon's family
"Yeah" Simon sighed getting up and walking into the room
Simon's pov
"Do you want your family stay?" She asked sitting down at her desk
"Only Amanda can stay" I said quietly
"Okay" She nodded as my parents and brother left closing the door behind them
"Please take a seat" She said pointing to the seats in front of her desk, I just nodded and sat down with Amanda
"So, from what you said and how you reacted and what your family said its seems like you have Post-traumatic stress disorder or PTSD for short" Melanie said, I felt Amanda take my hand and squeeze it gently as I processed what I was just told
"So I'm not insane?" I asked
"No, was that a concern you had?" She asked frowning
"Well yeah, everyone thought I was and I was acting normally" I shrugged
"You aren't insane, its normal to experience PTSD after something as traumatic as whatever it is you went through" She said softly
"So what now?" I asked
"Now we put you into therapy and help you through this" She said
"And I'm going to assume that I cant go back to work" Simon said
"I'm afraid not" She said
"But I have to pay for this with no job?" I asked
"No, you will still get payed and the military will still provide you with the treatments and when you get better and decide you want to continue to serve the marines you can" She said, I just nodded not wanting to talk anymore.
"So when's your first appointment?" Mum asked when we got back to my apartment
"Tomorrow" I said
"You know we love you and will always be here for you if you need to talk right?" Mum asked pulling me into a hug
"Yeah I guess" I sighed hugging her back
"We love you so much" Dad said joining the hug
"Are you going to stay with me tonight?" I asked as I cuddled with Amanda in bed
"Yes I will" Amanda said softly planting a kiss on my lips
"I love you" I smiled
"I love you too" Amanda smiled tracing the scares on my cheek.
