He's a figment of a shadow,

Tracing my every step,

His shoes are laced with treachery,

Who can know if he is truly crooked?

But with those cunning lips,

And a crude smile,

He wonders the halls,

Never turning to the side,

What does he hide?

With a mask, he covers all but that dastardly smile.

Once I dared peek out at him as he sauntered the halls with a graceful step,

But the darkness he seemed to be one with,

As if he had kissed the lovely luna,

And one her favor over the jealous light.

You oh wandering man of the night,

Stay far from me,

For I don't think I could bare,

Seeing those eyes and matching that stare,

So cold are they that I feel he may too gather me up into his umbra,

To sleep forevermore on the shore of fantasies.
