Sidney's POV
"..If you will take me to be your husband.. Sidney Antonette Madrigal will you please.. Marry me?"
Is this really happening? Hindi ba ako nananaginip? Caleb, is asking me to be his wife.
Tuloy tuloy lang ang pag patak ng mga luha ko. Purely tears of joy. Lalong lumakas ang hangin at pag alon ng dagat.
"You have given me life in everything you do. I offer you my hand, heart and a share of all my possessions. Sidney, I must have you for my own.. entirely my own. So please.. Say yes?"
I burst a little laughed when I saw his face pleading. But in a cute and funny way. Para kasing nag aalangan siya kung sasagot ba ko, kaya siguro nag mamakaawa.
Once I say yes, alam ko mas magiging complicated ang lahat. But one thing is for sure, Handa niya kong pakasalan anytime and anywhere.
Ako ba? Handa na?
He made a cute puppy face at kahit umiiyak ako ay nginitian ko parin siya. I held both of his hands.
Then I slowly nodded.
"Of course.. Yes... I will marry you." His face was enlightened and he immediately stood up.
He grinned wide.
"Did you really said yes?" His eyes grew wide then he excitedly asked na parang hindi pa ito makapaniwala.
Pa ulit ulit lang akong tumango at hindi parin mabura ang ngiti.
"You are going to marry me even if it's today, tomorrow or the other day?!" May pagka sigurista talaga ang boyfriend ko. And since I said yes, I am more willing to marry him kahit ngayong gabi pa.
"Yes, We will get married. Anytime and anywhere honey." And he gave me a very warm and tight embrace, at agad itong sinuklian.
Binuhat pa niya ko habang yakap yakap. Tuluyan na din nawala ang luha ko at nangibabaw ang saya.
Napatili pa ko ng umikot ikot ito habang naka yakap sa akin. We giggled together and later on ay ibinaba na din ako nito mula sa kanyang pag kakabuhat.
"YES! She said yes!!! I love you so much my future wife!" Caleb cupped my face as he showered it with his sweet smack kisses.
"..I promise to give you the best days of your life Sidney. We are going to have a perfect and happy family. I can assure you, that you will never regret this night that you said yes.. Bukas na bukas pakakasalan na kita."
I cling my arms around his neck and lightly kissed his soft red lips.
"I love you so much Caleb! And I can't wait the day.. that we are going to exchange our vows."
He leaned his forehead into mine and he also rubbed his nose.
Slowly his lips met mine and kissed each other passionately.

I woke up when the sun strike my half awake eyes. Ang ganda ng sikat ng araw. I'm currently wearing Caleb's polo.
Naalala ko ang mga nangyari kagabi. Tinignan ko ang singsing sa daliri ko.
It's very beautiful and elegant.
And how we made love last night is beyond perfect. It feels like the first night together.
Wala na talagang urungan toh, kahit bukas ay handa akong mag pakasal sa kanya.
I slowly stood up from bed. Nanatili lang akong nakaupo sa kama when I realized na wala siya sa tabi ko.
There's a bouquet of red roses sa side table with complete set of breakfast.
Agad kong kinuha ang bulaklak para basahin ang note nito.
"May aasikasuhin lang ako. I promised to be back this evening. Then tomorrow, You are going to be my official wife. I LOVE YOU"
I made a meaningful smile at kumuha ng isang bulaklak sa bouquet.
He's always the sweetest.
"Aaw" Napangiwi ako ng matusok ako sa isa sa mga thorns ng bulaklak. I saw my index finger bleeding, so I immediately grab the table napkin from the tray.
But my shoulder moved up and I was shocked to realized na nabasag ko ang baso ng gatas.
I stared on it for a few seconds.
Then I jumped out of the bed para linisin ang mga nagkalat na piraso ng baso.
Later on, someone knocked on the door. I think it's Manong Rey. He might have heard
noise.
Pinuntahan ko na lang ang pinto para pag buksan siya.
"Okay lang ho kayo ma'am?" I just nodded at halata mo ang pag aalala sa itsura ng matanda.
"Everything was fine. Nasagi ko lang po yung baso." And then I tried to smile.
"Ako na ho bahala na linisin yun ma'am baka masugatan pa kayo."
And since he insisted, kaya hinayaan ko na lang si Manong na pumasok para linisin ang kalat.
Suddenly, I felt strange.
Ayoko mag isip ng hindi maganda.
First, natusok ako sa rose tapos nabasag ko ang baso. Wag naman sana.
Stop thinking stupid things Sidney!
Caleb's POV
I was done with my resto, and now I have packed some of my things in this condo.
I am serious of marrying her as soon as possible. But I have to fix everything first, lalo na ang mga kakailanganin namin sa kasal.
We left without anything in our pockets. Naubusan na ko ng cash at bihira naman ang my credit card terminal sa province.
I don't care even if we live a simple life. As long as she's with me. Wala ng mas peperpekto pa doon.
*Ding Dong!*
My head faced the direction of my door. I was actually expecting someone. Una kong tinawagan si Jake para ibalik ang kotse niya and to let him handle my business.
I checked the time and it's already 4:35 in the afternoon.
I need to hurry. Baka mag alala sakin si Sidney, and besides I can't wait to be with her.
Mabilis akong nag lakad patungo sa pintuan. I'm very sure that this is my best buddy. Wala naman ibang nakakaaalam na nasa Manila ako ngayon.
My parents are currently having a board meeting together with the Quimondae's. Sinigurado ko talagang busy sila at walang ibang oras para sa araw na ito.
I opened the door right away. I grimaced when I realized who was actually standing in front of me.
"How did you know I'm here?" Asking her in a very cold tone.
I can see how happy she was. For the meantime, hindi ko muna dapat siya pag katiwalaan.
"I'm your fiancee, remember?" Medyo sarkastiko niyang sagot, at dumiretso na papasok sa living area.
I rolled my eyes. She must be kidding.
"Look, Margaux I don't have enough time." She raised her both hands in defeat, at padabog na umupo sa sofa. She fold her arms annoyingly.
"Fine! It was August. I told him na tawagan ako as soon as mag paramdam ka. I'm just worried Caleb."
Halata ko din naman sa mga mata niya ang pag aalala. I walked near her and leaned my back at the bar counter.
Nakapamulsa ko itong tinignan.
Damn you August! Palibhasa kasi, patay na patay siya kay Margaux. Kaya konting charms lang niya, kakanta na yun.
"Alam ba ito---"
"No! I'm still on your side and I respect your decisions. I just want to see you. Seriously, I miss you.. I miss the old us Caleb."
I drew a deep sigh. Akala ko naiintindihan niya na hindi na pwede ang dating kami? She's a good friend and I was more glad na wala siyang ibang pinag sabihan na nandito ako ngayon.
"Thanks. But try to understand that it's not the same anymore. Alam mo naman na may girlfriend na ko."
She made a wryly smile at saglit na tinigtigan ako. "And I'm still your fiancee!" She proudly said.
Kunot noo ko siyang tinignan. I thought she's on my side. Kung hindi niya ko binasted noon baka isipin kong nag seselos siya at gusto niyang matuloy ang kasal.
I smirked. "Don't tell me, you're taking that engagement seriously? It's pure business Margaux."
I saw her swallowed hard and later stood up. She slowly walked in front of me. And it's just weird because she held my right hand.
"Why not? I'm more glad because it's you Caleb.. W-What I mean is, not just a stranger millionaire guy who is going to be my future husband. Atleast alam ko na kaya mong maging mabuting asawa."
The feeling is a bit awkward. Bakit parang pakiramdam ko, iba ang ibig sabihin niya.
I looked at her beautiful face and she's staring straight into my eyes. Humigpit ang pag kakahawak niya sa kamay ko.
And there's a moment of silence.
"..And if its her who would make you feel happy, Then I'm more.. happy for you." I don't get it. I saw how teary her eyes is. Bakit parang nasasaktan siya.?
I want to asked her but I'm more afraid na malaman ang totoong saloobin niya. Margaux is a friend. Just a friend.
I held her hand but only to removed it away from mine. I smiled and tried my best para hindi maging peke ito.
"Thank you Margaux. But I have to go." Nilagpasan ko lang siya para kunin na lahat ang mga gamit ko.
Sidney is waiting. And I don't have enough time to waste for this silly matters. I'm sorry Margaux, as much as I want to entertain her feelings..
I think it's best if it was left UNTOLD.
Sidney's POV
I kept on walking back and forth in the living area. It's already two o'clock in the morning and Caleb is still not home.
Huli ko siyang nakausap around eleven in the evening at sinabi niya na nasa SLEX na siya. After that hindi na siya nag text.
I bit my lower lip. I have this strange feeling. Kahit ayokong mag isip ng hindi maganda, hindi parin maalis sa akin ang pag aalala.
I tried to call his mobile number but it was already unattended.
I suddenly saw Lola Meding in the kitchen and she was surprised when she realized I'm still awake. Isa din siya sa mga caretaker ng bahay at Nanay ni Manong Rey. Pero hindi na ito halos gumagawa ng mga gawaing bahay dahil may katandaan na.
"Bakit hindi ka pa natutulog Hija?" She walked towards me and handled me glass of milk.
"Hinihintay ko pa po kasi si Caleb Lola." She made a meaningful smile.
"Halika nga at maupo ka muna dito. Pauwi na yon, pag gising mo nakahiga na yun sa tabi mo." Inalalayan naman niya akong umupo katabi niya. At pinainom sa akin ang gatas.
Kahit papaano ay kumalma naman ako. "Sobrang nag aalala na po kasi ako. Mag uumaga na po pero wala pa siya."
Hinaplos ni lola ang mahaba kong buhok na parang anak niya. Please come home honey, ayoko ng mga ganitong pakiramdam.
"Imbis na nag iisip ka ng hindi maganda at pinag aalala ang sarili mo, mag dasal ka na lang sa Diyos at itulog mo na yan. Walang magandang maidudulot yan"
Lola Meding is right. I slowly nodded bilang pag sasang ayon sa kanya. I thanked her for her advise and concern then I decided to stood up to go to sleep.
"Salamat po." Tinungo ko na ang staircase when my phone suddenly rang. To my surprised it was Jake.
Ito nanaman tuloy ang kaba ko.
"Hello?" Nakakapag taka na tumawag ito sa akin. Pero sana kasama niya si Caleb.
"Sidney?! Gising ka pa ba?" Hindi ko gusto ang tono ng pananalita niya. He's breathing heavily as if kinakalma ang sarili niya.
"Oo, hinihintay ko si Caleb. Bakit ba? Kasama mo ba siya?" Nag simula na kong kabahan. Please say yes. Sabihin mong mag kasama kayo at papunta na kayo dito.
"I'm on my way there to pick you up. Sidney we need to get back in Manila." He said horribly. My heart thuds fast. Nag simula akong pag pawisan ng malamig.
Bakit niya ko kailangan sunduin? Bakit kami babalik sa Manila? Where is he?
"Can you tell me what's happening?! Bakit mo ko susunduin pabalik sa Manila!? And where is Caleb?!"
Tumaas na ang tono ng pananalita ko. Agad na nilapitan ako ni Lola para kalmahin ulit ako. Tears are starting to form in my eyes.
Not again please.
We deserve to be happy. Together.
"I need you to calm down Sidney.. Please calm down.." I'm totally pissed. Bakit hindi pa niya ko diretsahin. Hindi ba niya alam ang nararamdaman ko.
"Jake pwede ba! You're not helping! Sabihin mo kung anong nangyari!" I heard him breathe heavily. Napahawak na lang ang kanang palad ko sa aking noo. Hindi ko alam ang gagawin ko pag may masamang nangyari sa kanya.
He drew a deep sigh again. "He's in the hospital Sidney..

..He met a car accident, around 12:30 midnight"
I totally broke down on my knees. Tuluyan akong napaupo dahil sa narinig ko. That's not true!
And I can no longer stop my tears from falling. I hope he is still okay. Mali ang narinig ko.
"Tell me that's not true! Jake hindi magandang biro yan! How could you say that to your bestfriend!"
Why is this happening? Wala ng katapusan lahat ng mga pinag dadaanan namin.
I thought everything was perfect. Handa na kong ikasal sa kanya kahit kailan niya gusto.
"Sid, as much as I want to believe that it's not true, wala din akong magawa. It's all over the news."
I can hear how sorry he is for me. Na hindi nga ito nag bibiro. And just to make sure, dahil hindi talaga ako makapaniwala.
I stood up and immediately grab the remote para buksan ang tv.
There right in front of my eyes. I saw his picture.
"Nag iisang anak ng pamilya Hedley na isang businessman at modelo, Kritikal sa ospital matapos maaksidente at mabangga ng isang ten wheeler truck. Dalawa sugatan at ngayon ay agaw buhay naman ang modelo na si Caleb Edwards Hedley, na nag mamaneho ng isang Porsche sports car. Ayon sa driver ng truck ay nawalan---"
Hindi ko na matagalan ang mga nakikita at naririnig ko. Sa sobrang sakit ng nararamdaman ko ay hindi ko na inintindi pang kausapin si Jake.
Lola Meding embraced me and I cried in her chest. Bakit parang mapait ang tadhana para sa amin?
Masaya naman kami for the past year, pero bakit kailangan mapag daanan namin ito.
I can't lose him. I love him so much and he is my life.
Is there a true happy ever after? :'(
