"Food, glorious, foooooood~"
"Sid!!" Manny and Diego yell at him;
"What?;" Sid turns back to them with a shrug, "It's catchy!" Hazel only rolled her eyes with a chuckle. Kind of a shame that he was right about the song.
When they all reached the top of a small hill, they all stopped and gazed up ahead of them.
Just as the vulture had stated days ago, there, on top of the rock stood the boat that was gonna save them.
"We made it," Diego heaves out.
"Yeah we showed those vultures!!" Sid cheers as the others began celebrating loudly as well.
Hazel looked around in joy that they've made it to the end of the valley, letting out a small smirk and chuckle as she watched the mammoths make contact with each other, only to pull away awkwardly.
The silent rumble of the flood echoed through their ears making them all stare back, knowing they journey didn't end just yet.
She let out a huge sigh. It didn't matter now, they were all safe and at the end of the valley.
Just a few more steps to go and they were on the boat to a new place to call home-
"AH!!"
She heard briefly along with a explosion before she was pushed aside with Sid barely catching her fall, just seeing the possums panicked and run towards Ellie.
"Better watch where you step," Diego states as Hazel got off of the sloth.
They all looked over the field where there were geysers scattered all around, parts of the ground exploding every second with hot steam.
"Oh, it's just a little hot water and steam!;" Sid began with confidence as he waved his claw nonchalantly; "How bad could it be?"
Their attention soon turned to a Dodo Bird, which Hazel found odd as she swore she saw them all die some time ago, maybe he was a loner?
Either way, he was walking through the field without a care in the world, until the ground beneath him shot up hot steam, sending him flying in the air.
When it came back down, he was completely roasted.
('They really are all gone now,') Hazel shuddered, shaking those thoughts out of her head.
"I just said something involuntary" Sid muttered lowly with a shudder, "...and messy."
"Okay come on," Hazel heard and did a double-take as Manny began walking forward into the field, questioning if he did see the dodo bird like the rest of them;
"GAH!" He suddenly wheeled back as the ground in front of him exploded dangerously close to him.
"Manny, get back!" Diego demanded loudly, "It's a minefield out there!"
"There's only one way to go!;" He yells as he turns back to the herd, pointing forward with his trunk; "straight through!"
"Straight through?; We like to keep the fur on our bodies, thank you!" Ellie tells him, "We'll head back then we'll go around that's safer."
She begins to turn away but Manny stops her; "No, no! There's no time, the dam will burst before we make it, - We'll drown!!"
"If we go through this, we'll get blown to bits!"
"We go forward!" Manny yells at her,
"We go back!" Ellie stubbornly yells back,
"Forward!!"
"Back!!"
"Forward!!!"
"Back!!!"
Diego speaks up; "Can I say something?"
"NO!!"
He just scrunched his nose in disapproval as Hazels' ears drooped in concern, panicking that they were fighting rather than getting to safety, putting them all at risk of been caught up in the flood.
"You are..." Manny continues in an annoyed tone, "so, stubborn and hard-headed!!"
"Well I guess that proves it!!; I am a mammoth!!" Ellie turned away, leaving Manny in complete shock by her words.
"Come on!" She swoops Crash and Eddie up with her trunk and puts them on her back and head and walks away in the direction they came from.
"Fine!" Manny turned around and began walked through the geysers.
Sid, Diego and Hazel just gazed over where Ellie walked away as they exchanged a look of concern.
"I don't know, drowning sounds like a, much gentler way to go." Sid shudders, "Blown to bits sounds so... sudden..."
Hazel stood as he walked away, watching watched the retreating figure of the female mammoth, panicked that she and the possums might not make it.
"Hazel," She felt a nudge on her shoulder and she turned to see Diego moving back slightly. "Come on," He began walking away as he finished with; "Manny might need our help." before running after him.
"R-Right," She nods quickly, looking back one last time, praying that they'll make it before running after him.
The mammoth ahead just continued walking through the geysers, some exploding far off, some dangerously beside him, but he simply ignored all of them, which made the group behind concerned.
"He's gonna get himself killed!" Sid yelled to the sabers before yelling out to the mammoth. "Manny wait!!"
"Manny!!" Hazel ran ahead, only to wheel back with a scream as a gesyer exploded in front of her.
"Hazel!!;" Diego yelled, skidding to a holt as a geyser in front of him also explodes; "watch where you're going!!"
"But-" Hazel gasped heavily as she shakily got up and ran beside him, "But his-"
"I get it, we're all worried!" He begins harshly; "but we don't need anyone else risking their life!!"
"MANNY!!" The scream from Sid drew their attention ahead of them just to see a geyser explode, seemingly too close to the mammoth and knock him down.
They all exchanged a look of concern and fear and ran towards their fallen friend.
The sabers skidded to a stop in front of him whilst Sid stopped just behind them.
He was awake but looked completely disoriented and out of it.
"Manny!!" Diego yelled in his face, "Get up!" They briefly ducked as a geyser exploded near them.
"You gotta get up Manny!!" Hazel yells out shakily, panicking that he wasn't respond to anything, "Please get up!!"
"Manny, come on!;" Diego yells loudly with a harsh tone; "We gotta go!; NOW!!"
They stared as he seemed to have come back to reality, looking around as the explosions around them never end.
He quickly jumped up with a panicked yell and stumbled in the wrong direction. Diego quickly moved in front of him and pushes him into the direction of the boat; "That way!!"
"Come on!!" Hazel ran over to the sloth and gestured him to get on her back, which he did and she ran once she felt him wrap his arms around her neck.
They all ran as quickly as they could across the field, narrowly dodging any of the geysers that've exploded, especially ones that were dangerously close to them.
After what felt like forever, they all soon made it out alive, with Diego leaping over towards safety between the mammoth and female saber.
"Thanks Hazel!" Sid gets off of the female saber, "That sure was scary!"
"Y-yeah, it was," She heaves, taking a huge breather before looking up at Manny who just stared up ahead with Diego.
They both turned and saw the huge crowd that all walked towards the boat that laid on top of the small mountain.
Now all they needed to do was to find Ellie and the possums, praying that they were safe and somewhere within the crowd.
