There are two guards hanging around in the centre of the stage, with a spotlight still in the centre. The circle around it and wonder, neutrally on guard. The rest of the stage is still lit. The Prisoner and Charlotte emerge from stage left, creeping around at the back.
Charlotte:
That's where we've got to get to.
The Prisoner:
Not a problem. Those two are easy to take down.
Charlotte:
That's what Paul said! They smashed him to a pulp when they took him away. They said he was almost virtually indestructible!
The Prisoner:
He wouldn't be the first.
Charlotte:
So how are we going to get around them?
The Prisoner:
Well, what did Paul do?
Charlotte:
He ran for it, fought them, reinforces were called, then he was taken away and killed.
The Prisoner:
Yes, well he's never been in a situation like this before has he?
They both freeze, the guards then begin muttering.
Guard 1:
Hey, did you hear that?
Guard 2:
Hear what?
Guard 1:
Some sort of muttering over there.
Guard 2:
Nah, it was probably nothing.
Guard 1:
Perhaps it was some people from the Village.
Guard 2:
Could be.
Guard 1:
I don't think they will try to escape again.
Guard 2:
Not after last time.
They continue to circle.
Charlotte:
So how are we going to get in there? Distract them somehow?
The Prisoner:
Exactly that. Like this!
He pushes her forward out into the open for the guards before The Prisoner jumps to run around the back and running around to stage right.
Guard 1:
Intruder! Attempting to escape!
Guard 2:
Apprehend! Apprehend!
They both grab her, taking her hostage.
Charlotte:
No! No!
Guard 1:
You were trying to escape!
Guard 2:
The penalty is now death!
The Prisoner has now dashed from stage right and sprints towards the centre to the spotlight!
Guard 1:
INTRUDER! INTRUDER!
He jumps through.
