November 19, 20XX - Wednesday
'Early morning'

Taehyung was doing the most to help me,

but was I doing the most to help him?

My surroundings were spinning,

I was dizzy.

What was going on?

I mumbled incoherently as I opened my eyes, only to find myself blasted by the wind, the whole ocean displayed in front of me,

A gun in my hands.

Gasping, I started to look around, realizing that I stood at the very edge of the roof of the yacht, the shock causing me to lose my balance and fall.

What was going on?!

I couldn't help but look around, my eyes widening at the sight of blood on the deck.

No!

Shaking, I slowly turned to where the blood was coming from, spotting bodies sprawled throughout.

I inhaled sharply.

"Hari!" Taehyung's voice called out, hoarsely.

I jerked my head every direction until I spotted him being pushed over the bow pulpit by an unfamiliar.

"Help...me..." Taehyung sounded strained for air, causing me to panic.

"Taehyung!" I screamed.

How do I help?

How do I?

I looked down at my hands, the gun feeling a ton heavier than the burden that came with it.

Bringing it up, I pointed it at the figure, hesitating on pulling the trigger.

I'm scared.

"Hari? Why are you pointing the gun at me?"

The voice sent shivers down my spine, for it had been months since I last heard it.

I opened my eyes to meet the eyes of the man I was running away from.

My father.

He found us.

"Hari, don't do this to your precious father. I've made mistakes in the past, but I can change. I'm not always like this. I would never hurt you again."

Lies.

All lies.

Namjoon, Yoongi, Hoseok, and the others that were trying to help us... were dead because of him.

The anger inside me started brewing and I didn't hesitate this time, I pulled the trigger.

But nothing.

Nothing came out.

My face fell.

Why?!

My father laughed at my expense, returning to push Taehyung more over the railing.

"Father! Stop it! Stop it! I'm here! Take me instead, please!" I cried as I shook my head.

Why wasn't the gun working?

Why didn't I know how to work it?

Why was I so helpless?!

Ignoring me, my father yanked Taehyung further back, releasing him into the water.

I watched to my horror as Taehyung fell back, flailing and falling into the water.

He can't swim.

He'll die!

"No!"

"Too bad you couldn't save him, Hari." My father sneered. "You've always been helpless, and you'll always be."

Tears ran down my face.

Everything slowly disappeared, leaving me in the dark.

I hated getting nightmares.

I got them every night, but this one was terrible.

Because it was true.

I was helpless.

Opening my eyes, I stared up at the ceiling.

Taehyung wasn't next to me.

I was alone.

Slowly sitting up, I reached for the glass of water placed at the nightstand beside me.

Still rattled, I thought back to how I couldn't handle the gun.

I would never be strong enough to fight someone off.

The least I could do was handle a gun.

Setting the glass of water down, I slowly went and pulled the drawer open.

It contained Taehyung's stuff.

Would it be there?

I slowly pushed aside a shirt, something heavy clearly in it.

Taking it out, I unwrapped the gun.

It was scarier in my own hands.

"What are you doing?"

I turned to look over my shoulder to find a frowning Taehyung.

Immediately spotting the gun in my hands, he shut the door and rushed over.

He grasped my wrists and then carefully took the gun out of my hand, clearly mad but not showing it.

With tears, I stared up at him.

"Why was it in your hands?" He asked softly, frowning my way.

"I...I'm capable of doing more... I should be doing more-"

"No." He shook his head, pulling me in for a hug. "Why would you even think that? You...you had another nightmare, didn't you?"

I sniffled, nodding.

"I'm sorry..." Taehyung whispered as he stroked my hair.

"I'm sorry I'm putting you through all this," His voice grew softer, "I'm sorry I did this."

I wiped away my tears.

"But...I will never let you get your hands dirty."

Taehyung slowly pulled away.

"I...will never make you go through that."

He looked me in the eyes, promising,

"I would kill someone for you."

Thank you, Taehyung.

Thank you.
