Lauren has a firm grip on her girlfriend's hand as they walk down the hallway. The grip wasn't too hard to make Camila's hand uncomfortable but it's firm enough to not allow the omega to slip away.
On her left, Normani and Dinah walk along her too, keeping close to her but allowing some space between them and her.
She wants to scream at her friends and girlfriend and tell them that they're being ridiculous and over dramatic about protecting her. But deep down inside, she knew what they were doing is what's best to keep her safe right now.
Camila's been having nightmares, seeing the hybrid in her dreams killing the people she loves. Lauren would hold her tight and whisper soothing things into her ears to help Camila calm down from her night terrors.
"I'll be here to take you to your history class after." Lauren tells her and Camila has to refrain from rolling her eyes.
"Babe, I get that you want to keep me safe and all, but do you really have to walk me to everything single class?" Camila looks up at her mate who didn't really seem to care about Camila's complaint.
"Yes, I'll be here after class to walk you to your next class." Lauren kisses her forehead, before walking off with Dinah.
"She's only trying to keep you safe, Mila." Normani says as they both walk in to history.
"I know but it's a little much don't you think? I can't go anywhere by myself." Camila huffs, sitting down by her desk.
"Girl, I'd rather have people with me 24/7 than being by myself when I know there's a hybrid out to kill me." Normani explains and Camila sighs, knowing that she can't argue with what the girl is saying.
When class ended, Camila expected Lauren to be outside waiting for her but instead she's met by Halsey.
"Hey, Cam. Lauren got held back by the teacher so she sent me to walk with you." Halsey reveals and chuckles when the omega just rolls her eyes, walking past the vampire.
She lets Camila walk ahead of her, but she immediately jumps in front of the girl and grabs ahold of the boy that's reaching out to grab Camila.
"What the fuck do you think you're doing?" Halsey snarls, pushing the vampire away from Camila.
Camila stood there in shock, not really knowing what's going on.
"I see you've betrayed your own kind, to protect this mutt." Zayn hisses, glancing at the omega behind Halsey.
"I've not betrayed anyone, I just want to keep her safe and everyone else." Halsey growls, keeping a firm stance in front of the omega.
Students stop and turn their way. They definitely had a lot of eyes watching them now.
"The only way you're gonna keep everyone safe is by bringing Camila to her." Zayn tells Halsey, taking a step towards the pair.
"Take another step and I'll rip your fucking head off." Halsey warns and Zayn glares back at her and is about to take another step, but stops when he hears growls and hisses from other students.
Lauren and Halsey had informed friends and people they could trust about the situation about Camila and they all agreed to keep an eye out and to help keep Camila safe.
"Wow, gathered a little army I see." Zayn smirks at the vampire hissing at her.
"You still won't be able to keep her safe. So I'm going to tell you this again, take Camila to her or you all die." Zayn declares, giving the omega one last look before he walks off.
"Fuck." Halsey heavily sighs. She didn't have a good feeling about what's going to happen next

"What do you mean that the hybrid can't step foot into this town?" Lauren inquires, listening intently to the vampire that they met in the woods a few days ago.
"Before the first beast died, he consulted with some witches before fighting the hybrid. He asked them to cast a spell on werewolf territory to prevent the hybrid from every stepping over the border so that if he wasn't able to kill the hybrid, the wolves would at least be safe." Harry clarifies, making Lauren understand.
This town was only werewolf territory back in the day before the vampires came to settle here too.
"Is that why the hybrid wants me to come to her?" Camila points out, remembering Zayn's words from today.
"Yeah and she's not going to stop getting people to bring you to her." Harry answers
"Well this is just peachy." Dinah groans, falling dramatically onto Lauren's sofa and on Normani.
"Get off of me, you're heavy." Normani huffs at the alpha on top of her.
"Excuse me, I'm not heavy."
"Then how are we going to keep Camila safe?" Halsey questions, knowing that they won't be able to keep Camila safe for long.
"You can't."
Harry's answer made everyone go silent in the room.
"We can, we just have to get more people to watch her and I'll-"
"Lauren, just listen for a second." Camila cuts her off causing the alpha to look at her.
"You can't protect me forever and what Harry said about people getting killed for protecting me is not want I want. Maybe I should just go to this hybrid..." Camila trails off.
"Are you fucking crazy? Do you want to die?" Normani exclaims, looking at her best friend bewildered.
"What else can we do Mani?! I'm not going to be responsible for anyone's death because they were protecting me." Camila argues
"I have to agree with Mani on this one." Ally interjects and the rest of the group nod in response.
Camila then looks into her mates eyes, wanting Lauren to back her up. "Normani's right Camz, I don't want you getting hurt."
The omega's jaw tightens and she clenches her fists, frustrated at everyone for thinking that she can't protect herself and them wanting to risk their lives to protect her.
"Fine, if you all want to sit around and discuss ways to protect me then fine, but I'm going home to figure out what I want to do. And don't any of you dare follow me because I'll actually loose my fucking shit!" Camila growls, storming out of the Jauregui household.
She felt like she was suffocating, having people around her all the time. She can't bare the idea of people dying to protect her, but none of her friends wanted to listen to what she wanted to do.
Camila sighs, speed walking home while glancing back to see if any of them followed her.
She then hears foot steps behind her and she angrily turns around, "Lauren I told you not to-"
"Hey Camila." Shawn greets and Camila's hair stand up on the back of her neck.
Something didn't seem right about the vampire. He doesn't seem like the same person that she dated a while ago. He looked paler, less happy.
"W-what are you doing here?" Camila stutters, taking a step back when he inches closer to her.
"I just wanted to see you one last time." Shawn express, soaking in the sight of the beautiful girl in front of him.
She analyses the vampire in front of her, how her looks at her with love but fear in his eyes.
"You're working with the hybrid aren't you?" Camila concludes watching his facial expression.
"You know Mila, I could've kept you safe from all of this, but you chose her." Shawn tells her taking a step towards her, they were only inches apart.
"I still love you." He whispers, looking into her eyes.
"If you still love me, will you one last favour for me?" Camila looks up at him and he nods, entranced by the omega's beauty.
"Tell the hybrid that I'll come to her, but on condition that she'll hurt nobody else." Camila states, her breath hitching when Shawn's lips draw near hers.
"Anything for you."
And with that he's gone in a flash, leaving the omega by herself.
"What the hell was that?" Lauren's voice echoes from behind her, startling the omega.
