Wenxu Jiang seemed to stop playing around. In Zhishu's eyes, at least Wenxu Jiang knew to go home; he went to work on time and came back home no matter how late it was.
Zhishu's illness situation was the same as before. It was not good, but it did not deteriorate. It was not until he went to the hospital several times that he found that Dr. Ai had been avoiding him. Zhishu did not think much about the change of his doctor in charge, since he thought Ziyu Ai was too busy. However, Zhishu understood something until he saw Ziyu Ai come out of the office but pretended he hadn't seen Zhishu.
Zhishu didn't understand the change of his attitude completely. In his impression, Dr. Ai always took good care of him. The two people could be regarded as friends, but why did Dr. Ai suddenly turn a cold shoulder to Zhishu? Zhishu was not particularly sensitive to the sophistication of human feelings, and this was very baffling.
Zhishu continued to come to the hospital for chemotherapy, which was the third time that he had done, and there was no one being with him.
The process of treatment was extraordinarily long and painful so that later in Zhishu's memory, the winter was long and the wind seemed never to stop; except the gray sky, all he could see was the snow-white walls of the hospital.
It took him more than ten minutes to get up after the chemotherapy. He walked against the wall and his pale face matched the snow-white wall. He looked haggard and lonely with the skinny body.
The nausea caused by headache and the sequelae of chemotherapy blurred his dull eyes. He couldn't hold on anymore so he squatted down slowly and waited to get through his dizziness. After a long time, Zhishu came to himself and noticed there was someone in front of him. What leaped to the eyes was a pair of pure deerskin shoes with soft soles, followed by straight trousers, white coat and a very handsome face.
"Come to my office and rest for a while?" Ziyu Ai's brown pupils were gentle. There was a sense of inexplicable sadness in his eyes.
Zhishu bit his lip and wanted to stand up, but it was too hard. Ziyu Ai did not help him with restraint as usual. He directly carried Zhishu into his arms.
"Doctor!" Zhishu was shocked and gave a short cry.
Ziyu Ai did not wrinkle his brow but marched forward. He might feel Zhishu's embarrassment and shouted twice, "Emergency!" The look in eyes of the patients around changed from doubt to understanding.
The layout of the lounge remained unchanged, but the quilts that had not been sunned recently were a little damp.
"Thank you, doctor," Zhishu hadn't calmed down, and there was some redness brought by hypoxia on his face.
Ziyu Ai lowered his head and didn't talky after he put Zhishu on the bed. For a moment, the air was silent to freeze.
Zhishu pressed his lips and gently pulled the doctor's sleeve twice, "What's wrong?"
The doctor looked up abruptly and hugged Zhishu tightly,"... I'm sorry... I'm sorry... I'm sorry..."
Ziyu Ai's eyes turned red, and the moment he looked up, Zhishu saw his sadness which was so strong that it almost could drown himself.
"What's wrong?" Zhishu's shoulders relaxed after a sudden stiffness. He patted the doctor on the shoulder in a comforting way, "What's wrong with you?"
"Bone marrow... Bone marrow..."Ziyu's voice choked, "I found one matching with you! That should be yours. But mayor's son is also in urgent need for it so it was taken away after detection..."
Zhishu was stunned and then laughed, "Just for this? It doesn't matter. I thought what happened to you." Zhishu's voice was very gentle. He was the person who should feel sad, but he comforted Ziyu Ai, "Proper bone marrow can be found again. The mayor's son must be more precious than me, so it's a matter of course that he gets it."
"That's not for him. The mayor's son took it for his sick lover."
"It's not for himself that he uses power. Having affection and faith, this person is not bad," Zhishu even tried to amuse Ziyu Ai. He knew how difficult it was to find the right bone marrow, and this miss basically sentenced him to death. But that might be his fate.
"No, I'll beg my brother to find some way out... There must be a way, Zhishu."
Zhishu felt extremely sorry and sad when seeing others worry about him. Finally tears welled up in his eyes, "Doctor... Doctor Ai, it doesn't matter. I'm one of your patients. It's inevitable that I can't be cured. It's not an accident."
Ziyu Ai got up and stooped to Zhishu. There was something glittering in his eyes, "I don't want to just treat you as a patient..."
Before Zhishu said anything, Ziyu Ai came up, caught his shoulders, and then kissed him on the lips with a restrained feeling of failure, "I like you very much, Zhishu! I want to control my feeling and I try to avoid you, but I really can't suppress my love. I'm really scared."
