it was the first time...
we always called each other on nights like this. usually, we'd compete and see who'd call first, and that person will score a kiss or hug from the other person.
i was happy that i called you first tonight, but was dejected when you didn't answer after a few rings.
i convinced myself that maybe you were just tired and slept this early which is why you didn't answer or call back or left a text.
but i felt uplifted when you sent me a text about fifteen minutes later, saying you were doing something else and told me you'd call later on.
then thirty minutes, one hour, two, three, four, five hours passed...
...i started to feel tired, and crestfallen.
it was the first time you didn't call back.
