The guilt takes me by no surprise,
Always surrounded by lies.
Words twisted; meanings changed,
Swirling memories of past blame.
A promise made; a loophole found,
For this I am bound.
I knew what I was doing,
I knew I could not go back.
It was a simple want; a small fun,
For the price of a used gun.
Boredom and desperation seep in,
the lesser known of my sin.
I tried to make it better,
Words sounding greater in my head.
But nothing now can undo what's done,
By no surprise I myself am shunned.
A promise made; a loophole found,
For this I am bound.
I never should have endorsed that one,
But oh so fun it seemed.
Now I can't go back; can't be found,
In the wallow of fun I drown.
The guilt takes me by no surprise,
For this I have made my own demise.
