Lay still in bed, pillow under head
The pitter- patter of the rain
Like static
Each little droplet hits the roof
And the sound can not be duplicated
Yet to my ear, it sounds the same
The rain
Tears falling from the sky
It calms me as I close my eyes
It lulls me to sleep
Yet I lay awake, listening, alive
