Little girls, little flowers, little daffodils
Play in the street
Running and jumping and dancing
And laughing and screaming and running
They pay no mind to their surroundings
They run and jump and dance
They laugh and scream and run
Too busy to notice when a car comes
They don’t hear the noise
They just hear their own voice
As the engine roars
The car comes towards
The little daffodils are deaf to the car
And as it comes speeding along
They sing their final song
The deaf daffodils
Wither too soon after bloom
