Aria's POV
Alex and I followed Penelope into the Alvarez apartment, listening to her tell a story about some guy, "And then, oh, my god... Mateo did this funny Nikki impersonation." Penelope said as well as doing the impersonation
Alex and I looked at each other and then back at her, confused, "You got to see him do it."
"Enough about Mateo already. Just admit it, you like him." Alex laughed
"Yeah, of course. He's my buddy." She agreed, missing the true meaning behind his statement
"No, but you like him." I clarified, just as amused as the teen boy
"You guys should have seen her, smiling and laughing. Almost as cute as us." Alex smirked
"Wow. Way to be cheesy." I laughed, throwing my bag by the couch
Penelope ignored us and went into the kitchen where Schneider was, while Elena began to grill her, "So? What's wrong with this Mateo?"
Penelope, quickly, shook her head, "Nothing, he's just not my type. He's nice. He's kind of a dork. Like he's definitely been stuffed in a locker."
"So what does this Mateo do?" Lydia asked, as she folded clothes
I moved over to the couch and sat in Alex's lap, ready for Penelope's response, as she glared at the two of us, "He is an accountant."
"Ay." Lydia groaned
"No. It's fine. It's just... I like a guy who can handle his business. Someone who can take charge when I need him to. And look, he just doesn't give me that..." Penelope finished with a groan/moan of sorts
"No." "Mom, stop." The two siblings gagged, as I covered Alex's ears and tried to control my laughter.
"I get it. I would look across the room at your father and I would go..." Lydia agreed, making the same noise as Penelope
"Ew!" Elena groaned as Alex held my hands tighter to his ears
"Stop making sounds and moving!" He begged
"No, it's a feeling you get in your stomach. It's deep, it's physical, and once you feel it you can't ignore it." Penelope said
I played with Alex's fingers and smiled at what she said, before getting up to avoid Schneider's protective stares as he walked out of the kitchen, "Yeah, I get that when I eat soft cheese."
"Gross." I muttered
"Anyway, Mateo and me, no, never gonna happen." Penelope finished, waving the idea off
"Yeah. You're in the friend zone anyway. Can't crawl out of that." Schneider said
Debatable.
"Oh, I could if I wanted to. I have a foolproof move I've been using since high school. Spill a little liquid on the girls, then suddenly my eyes are no longer up here." Penelope smirked, earning a laugh and fist bump from Schneider
"There's this kid in my class, Joe Kamacho, who has to wear a hearing aid. And I've never been so jealous in my life." Alex exclaimed, standing up and walking to his room
"Also, I got out of the friend zone without the boob thing. Although, mine took much longer. Maybe I should try yours." I joked to Penelope as she smirked
"Hold on!" Schneider snapped
"I'm joking." I laughed, quickly running off

Alex and I were watching a movie on the couch, when Elena came in with Lydia, who we could obviously tell had hurt her ankle.
Alex and I helped Lydia on to the couch while Elena went to get some medicine, quickly returning with a small bottle, "Here you go, Abuelita. This should help with the swelling."
She sat on one side of Lydia, while Alex and I sat on the other, "Thank you."
"Now, can we talk about getting rid of the high heels?" Elena asked, glancing at the tall shoes on the older woman's feet
"Elena, please, give the woman a moment's peace." Alex scolded, quickly receiving and annoyed look from Elena, "I'm just used to taking her side. I don't even know what you guys are talking about."
Lydia pat the side of his face as a warning for him to leave.
He laughed and grabbed my hand, as he dragged me to finish our movie in his room.
Halfway through the film, I leaned over to grab my drink. I took a small sip, accidentally spilling a bit on my shirt.
"Shit." I sighed, attempting to wash it off the best I could
I jumped, quickly, when I heard Alex scream from beside me, "What the hell, Alex."
"You. Spilt. Mom. Her move." Alex gasped, pointing at the spot on my top
I screamed when I realized what he meant. We both screamed at each other, until Alex threw one of his sweatshirts at me.
We continued screaming until I had it on completely, "I'm not thirsty anymore."
"I hate my mom." Alex groaned
I grabbed the back of his shirt and pulled him down to lay next to me, "Can we just finish the movie?"
"Fine. But I'm never drinking again." He sighed, putting his arm around me
"Agreed." I nodded
