I take a deep breath to calm down. I go to the fridge getting an ice cold beer but decide to take a 6 pack and then go outside. I sit on a chair getting my pack of cigarettes getting one placing it on my lips and lighting it. Then I twist a beer open taking a drink.
"What are you doing?" Steve asks from the door.
"*sighs* Meditating." I say taking a puff.
He comes over taking the cigarette away from me. Confused I get another placing it between my lips and he takes that one too.
"Okay this is the least fun game ever." I tell him.
"This is a nasty habit Apex." He says stomping on the lit cigarette.
"It's my form of meditation, to relax." I say and he rolls his eyes.
"Apex *sighs* you're a complicated person." He says taking a seat next to me.
"Took you that long to see that?" I chuckle drinking some more.
"No but I know there's more than what meets the eye." He says.
"Why are you really here Captain Crunch?" I ask finishing my beer getting another one.
"Just want to talk, to see if you're okay." He says making me look around.
"Not scared of me are ya?" I chuckle bitterly.
"I don't think there's anything to be scared of." He shrugs.
"Good, keep thinking that." I say drinking my beer.
"But I know you aren't being completely honest with us." He says making me scoff.
"Some things are better left in the dark Rogers." I say looking down at the bottle.
"Maybe the things in the dark trigger you losing control." He says making me laugh.
"Alright Dr.Phil you think you have all the answers huh?" I say getting up.
"That's not what I'm saying." He says calmly getting up as well making me roll my eyes.
"I want to help.." He says softly.
"Wanna help? Eat your cereal and leave me alone Cap." I say going inside towards my room.
I get my car keys and wallet heading to the garage. I get to my car and leave towards the city. I head to an autoshop to upgrade my car with the 10Gs from my hit job. I drive until I see the familiar sign, King's Kustoms. I pull in and immediately get greeted by everyone. I step out of my car and toss my keys to Jr.
"Jr. you know what to do." I say making him nod.
"Ayyye look who it is!" I hear walking inside the garage.
"What's up 'Keem." I smile as we dap.
"What brings you around here sis?" He says. (No, you aren't related)
"Do you know who you're talking to?" I ask making him laugh.
"Well you haven't been around here for a cool minute." He looks around.
"I know I've been caught up with some stuff." I shrug.
"So I've heard miss Avenger." He smirks looking at me.
"How did you know it was me?" I ask quietly.
"I know your voice and they only said your name." He says in a duh tone.
"*scoffs* Whatever." I say with a chuckle.
"Come on how could you not tell me even less that you're a shapeshifter." He says.
"I don't want to put any of ya'll in danger. I can make some real enemies 'Keem." I tell him serious.
"Come on L/N you already have enemies from the streets." He says.
"Yeah but those are wannabe gangsters, these are people high up on the food chain. They got power." I say.
"Alright then stay safe out there." He says sincerely.
"Man you already know." I smile.
I look around then back at him.
"So how is my special project coming along?" I ask him and his eyes light up.
"Aye it's already finished just waiting for you to pick it up." He says.
"Can we go see it?" I ask.
"Of course let's go." He says leading us to the back.
We walk towards the back passing the various usual car noises until we get to a door. He get's out his keys and unlocks it. We step in and he turns on the lights. He closes the door the sounds becoming muffled.
"Oh yeah." I smile approaching my new car, a BMW i8.
"What do you think?" He asks as we walk over to it.
"This A1 man!" I exclaim grazing my hands over it.
"You can take it home today if you want." He tells me since I paid everything up front.
"I would but I came in my Eclipse." I tell him.
Before he can talk back Harry speaks up.
"Y/N." He says making me hold my wrist up.
"What's up Harry?" I ask.
"Agent Romanoff is calling you, shall I put her through?" He asks.
"What? No tell her-
"Apex." Natasha says her face coming through a hologram screen.
"Harry." I say.
"Sorry she put herself through." Harry says.
"Apex." Natasha repeats.
"What's up?" I ask her.
"Oooh who is this? Is this your girlfriend? Are you treating her nice?" Hakeem says looking over my shoulder.
I push him away making him laugh.
"Where are you?" Natasha asks skeptically hearing muffled autoshop noises.
"How'd you get my number?" I ask my own question.
"We all have eachother's numbers if you check your phone you'll see they were automatically added." She informs me.
"So to what do I owe this pleaseure babydoll?" I smirk.
"Don't call me that." She says.
"*chuckles* So what's up?" I ask nodding the smirk still on my lips.
"You're needed back here." She says.
"I don't feel like getting lectured by any of you guys right now, I'm meditating." I sigh looking over at my BMW.
"That is not why you have to be back, you have responsibilities." She says.
"Aye are you staying for the races?" Hakeem asks with a whisper.
I place my pointer finger up to my lips signaling him to be quiet.
"Sorry babydoll you're breaking up can't hear you. Bye." I say hanging up before she can say anything.
"Man your girl got you on a tight leash." Hakeem chuckles.
"*scoffs* She ain't my girl and yes, I'm down to stay tonight." I say making him cheer.
"Are you gonna race? Come on you gotta!" He says excited.
"I don't know, Jr. is working on my car." I tell him unsure he then looks behind me at my brand new car.
"Oh no, I'm not gonna scratch my new baby. Besides it's an automatic." I say.
"What if I get all my guys on your car? They'll finish in an hour, 2 tops." He offers.
"...Fine." I say and he rushes out the room.
He comes in telling me the guys are now working on my Eclipse. Then walk back to my new car.
"So let's see what this baby can do." I smile and he gets the keys and open the garage door.
We then take the plastic off the seats and settle in. I turn it on hearing the engine and I fall in love.
"Damn it was time I got another car." I say caressing the steering wheel.
I then back out and we cruise the city.
