Brielle

Somebody please tell me what's really good with these niggas out here! Some guys don't know how to give a girl a compliment and be on their way. They always seem to stick their foot in their mouth saying something very unnecessary or arrogant. If it's one thing I hate, it's a cocky know it all nigga. I've come to the realization some dudes just don't know how to talk to a female. They literally say the slickest shit, it'll slip out they mouths and you don't know what the hell just caught your ass of guard! Some shit can make you feel a range of emotions. If you let them talk to like a piece of shit eventually you'll feel like a piece of shit, if you let them talk to you like an object eventually you'll feel like property, but if you like to be talked to like a woman there is no question that you'll be treated like a queen. Never will I ever take those first two options, I'm a woman treat me like one. Nigga we birth your sorry asses. You think I'm about to take on less than I deserve? Better luck with the next bitch because I'm not the one for you.

Dispute waking up two hours earlier than I needed thanks to Chris spending the night with me, I still woke up late for my class . Today I honestly I don't give a damn about my appearance. Just as long as I don't have drool on my chin or the occasional eye boogies I'm good, but I decided this morning I wasn't going to dress up.

I went out to get breakfast and came back to a locked dorm. Started instantly freaking out because I couldn't afford to be late to this class. I still had very little time to make it.

"Excuse me is everything okay? I heard crying." A guy said passing by.

"No, I can't get into my room and I'm already late for this class. I either lost my key or it's in my room."

"What class you heading to?"

"Sociology 101," I said wiping my eyes.

"Oh it's no problem, the professor always run late on Wednesday you'll be fine. Did you go to the Service Desk? He asked.

"No one was there, a dumbass out to lunch sign was on the desk.

He let out a laugh. "Maybe I can help you then, got a bobby pin?"

I handed him a bobby pin from out my purse and he got on his knees and began to pick the lock. As he was trying to pick the lock he continued to make small talk.

"You should be lucky you had a man around to help you."

"What do you mean by that?" I said as I shot him a look but of course he wasn't looking still trying to work on my door.

"I heard you bawling your eyes out for the past 20 minutes, at least eight girls in this hallway passed right by you and said nothing . Probably took one look at you and said you shit out of luck, but me on the other hand I came down here and helped you. Why? Mainly because I was tried of hearing you." He laughed. "But also I might need the favor returned sometime, plus I believe it's a natural instinct that when a man sees a woman in need he should drop everything to help her out." He finally successfully managed to open my door.

I smiled giving him the benefit of the doubt "Thank you, I greatly appreciate it."

"I guess that's one of the perks of living in a unisex dorm . . Damn girl you got some kind of OCD?" He questioned as he peeked into my room seeing everything was placed in order and by color.

Giggling to myself . "No, I just like to be organized. Which reminds me that I know where my key is." I laughed, "I'm so sorry I wasted your time. But my key was around my neck this whole time and I just realized it. I still getting used to being back on campus.

He chuckled a bit. "Wow, it's okay though it's not every day that I get to talk to a pretty girl like you."

Here we go again, another one of those pretty boys trying to run game. Like damn I don't even look good this morning that's how I know you reaching right now. Basically he trying to secure his spot for later thinking that like was going to work on me I guess. Been there done that, I already had my experience with a college boy before he got me with that same thing.

"Oh please, don't try to play and pretend that the line of girls I seen Friday wasn't leading into your room." I said giving him the side eye as we walked out the dorm together.

"That wasn't purposely for me, I have tutor secession on Friday's. Some girls prefer to meet up in my dorm."

"Mhmm, I wonder why?" I sarcastically asked with a cheeky smile.

"I got to fight them with a broom to actually study but it's worth it in the end when they earn the A."

"Do you earn the same A in return, or it's just the grade?"

He laughed, "A as in the grade . . . I like you that's funny. I'm Brett by the way." Brett extended his arm out for me to shake his hand.

"Brielle," I smiled shaking hands with him.

"Brett and Brielle, that sounds cute together what do you think?"

I laughed, "It' sounds alright. I must not hear the same thing you do. But anyways Brett I need to spend the next two minutes deciding whether I'm going to run to class or if I'm going to wait for the next bus."

"You'll never make it in time, if you wait. I'm going to Sociology anyway, I'll take you." Brett pulled out his keys.

Damn, it's very rare that you find a educated brother with an award winning smile, hazel green eyes, 6'1, and has a special way of turning the worst situation into a positive one. Found out in all of a three minute ride to class that he's from South Carolina raised by both parents, mother is a high school teacher and daddy is a professor at our college. Family is everything to him, he plays college football, and once peed his pants as a little boy when he was walking home because he thought he heard a bear coming his way but turns out it was a cat, don't ask how we got on that topic.

But this boy is the man of my dreams, what won me over was (1) even though I came in three minutes late he talked the professor into letting me slide because turns out the professor was his a friend of his dads and (2) the class got worked into a heated debate over the sexual behavior of men and women. Of course he was on the opposing side, saying that women want it more than men and tend think like a man just to get it and it was only natural for me to back my ladies up on that argument. He provided some key points but he just wasn't strong enough for me, I won the debate.

"So your pretty, organized, and you got one hell of a mouth on you. Is there anything else you're hiding me out on?" Brett asked as we walked out of class.

I laughed, "Not that I know of."

"Listen, I have a game Friday night versing Washington State. I would like it if you came out and watch your boy do his thing. I'm star quarterback if you haven't heard. Afterwards we could celebrate together, you won't even have to come out of your pocket."

"See I was with you until you started to get cocky, but then you won me back when you said you'll pay. That's nice and all but I don't need your little money, I can cover myself thank you."

"Why do independent woman always think that when a man is coming out of his pocket they get sensitive and start to believe that we do it because it's an inferior tactic over them?"

"In my opinion men always try to flaunt for the next person when they don't have to and when it plays out in front our faces it only makes you look like jackasses."

"Well my momma taught me that a gentlemen is always supposed to come out of pocket. Always give a woman security knowing that wherever we go together she'll always be taken care of."

I smiled brightly. "Good to see that momma didn't raise a fool, very smart woman. It's a good point, so I'll see you at the game."

As the days were leading up to Friday I made sure all homework and essays were complete so I could devote all my time focusing on the game. I even went to bed early Thursday night but it was ruined by a knock on my door at 2:41 A.M.

"Chris what are you doing here ?" I said wiping my eyes.

"I been calling you like crazy, you told me last week that you wanted me to pick you up tonight so we could go out."

"Oh yeah . . I forgot . Shit don't you think that you're at least 7 hours late to be talking about some going out?"

"I told you I was calling you, thought I stop by and see what's up."

"You need to stop coming around here, I told you I don't want to run the risk of someone seeing you, you need to go."

"A few days ago you was saying how hard it is to see me, I'm here and now you kicking me out."

"Yeah cause your ass made me late to my class, you through me all off that morning. They don't play around up here I can't afford to be late again."

"You ain't doing shit right now though.9

"Apparently I was sleeping."

"Alright then, you can make it up to me tomorrow night."

I sighed, "Can't I have a date."

Chris must have found something hilarious vex he laughed his ass off "A date? Bullshit, you mean somebody is actually interested in you?"

"You asshole what's so damn hard to believe. Just get the hell out, aI don't have time for this."

"Yeah you right, you need all the damn beauty sleep you can get let me know how it goes." He laughed as he left.
