Start writing your story It was but a normal Monday morning to (Y/N). Right now, she was getting ready for a hangout with Nancy, a friend of hers. A simple hoodie with a tank top underneath, along with some jeans, was reasonable enough especially now that the news forecast said that was slightly cold today. She accepted the invitation to the mall right away when she had texted. Her job was later on that day so she couldn't see why she should decline. After all, it's been a while since they last met up. Nancy's job was kicking her ass so she couldn't come see her. She honestly missed Nancy. She still worried about her job though because there was the slightest possibility of her being late. She knew she was just being paranoid and it probably wouldn't even happen. A word of advice from her mother was to always think of the worst possible outcome because at least then, she would be prepared.

She looked over her apartment and found it plain. Maybe she really did need that cat or at least a companion. She swept up her apartment keys, her car keys and her wallet in a swift motion and made sure to lock the door. It was sunny today though the strong wind made up for it. She quickly got in her car, put her keys in and turned the ignition. Her car was a black Honda BR-V and she loved it to bits. It took a long time to save up money for it but in the end, it was worth it. It was like her baby and she spoiled it. She made sure that not one part of it was scratched and checked under its hood every week just in case something was wrong. Mechanic instincts probably.

She smoothly drove her way to her local mall. She got frustrated a few times whenever another car would randomly swerve in front of her or when someone jaywalked when the light was green. When she arrived at the mall, there wasn't much people considering it was a Monday, a time when the majority were busy. She quickly got a spot where she could easily get inside the mall. She locked the doors before she left and checked her hoodie pockets to see if her wallet was there and she went through the mall doors after being checked by the guard. Nancy said that they could meet at Starbucks. Honestly, she thought it was a bad choice. It wasn't that she hated Starbucks. It was just that it was always crowded.

When she rounded a corner, she was met with the sight of a crowded Starbucks, just like she had expected. She felt relieved when she saw Nancy from the window sitting on a table for two, fiddling on her phone. Nancy was a beautiful redhead. She had green eyes, short hair and freckles that just fit her. Her black rimmed glasses really did bring out her eyes and made her look paler. For some reason, she would always be wearing a black beanie on her head. Nancy looked up, checking if (Y/N) was there yet, and smiled brightly when she saw her.

(Y/N) smiled back at her speed walked her way into the cafe. When she was close enough, she brought Nancy into a hug. She really missed her best friend. Immediately, Nancy hugged back.

"It's been a while, hasn't it?" Nancy said, the same bright smile practically permanent on her face.

"It has. Didja miss me?" (Y/N) replied, her smile lopsided. Nancy scoffed.

"As if I would miss your oil stained ass." she replied but her smile said it all. (Y/N) giggled at her expression, and Nancy finally cracked and giggled as well.

"We can walk around if you'd like." (Y/N) told her. She didn't like staying in the same spot in the mall for too long. It made her uncomfortable.

"Oh? Oh, sure!" Nancy replied. Nancy stuffed her phone into her purse before hopping off the high stool. Nancy was really tall, really skinny too. She was like a long stick. She put her arm around her shoulders in habit as they always did in their high school years and they were off. Usually, their hangouts together just had light conversations and walking around the mall. They didn't particularly do much but each other's company was enough.

"How's your job by the way? I told about mine online but I never really did get to ask about yours." Nancy questioned, a curious smile on her face.

"Oh, I got, uh, fired." (Y/N) replied, twiddling her thumbs together in embarrassment.

"What? Why? You're fucking great at what you do." she replied, making rapid hand motions that showed her confusion.

(Y/N) giggled before saying, "Don't worry, I found a new job. I'm a mechanic at a place called Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria.". They got separated for a bit because people went between them but they immediately met each other on the other side of the crowd.

"I'm the mechanic and the animatronics are so human like, it's almost scary. They're so nice though so I can't really have time to get bothered." she continued with an unbothered and flat tone.

"Dude, they're so weird. They weren't always like that y'know. Just happened after 5 or something kids got missing. It was, like, a way for the owner to attract more customers. People were scared of losing their children too, ya get me?" Nancy drawled lazily.

(Y/N) was quite frankly surprised. She just sorta assumed that they were always like that. It was a bit stupid considering the establishment looked kinda old and the animatronics were probably there for all those years. It wouldn't be named Freddy Fazbear, one of the animatronics, unless they changed the establishment's name over time, but she severely doubted that.

"So, how was your job so far? Tell me all the details. There are, like, so many rumors there. I need to know." she blurted out excitedly.

"Huh, what rumors?" (Y/N) asked thoughtfully. She knew it was rude that she indulging in rumors about her workplace but she couldn't help but be curious. She works there after all. It surely wouldn't hurt to find out more about them.

"Like, they kill people or that they come to life at night!" Nancy waved her arms around, a certain gleam in her green eyes. (Y/N) unconsciously smiled. Watching Nancy with some of her passions was always pleasing and she knew that she liked horror. But though she enjoyed this, this is also where she had to draw the line and shut down her horror fantasies.

"The animatronics aren't bad. They're actually really nice. I only met them for a short time though and we just introduced ourselves. I think I'm going to meet them again later today anyway. It's gonna be my first shift." (Y/N) replied with a smile, remembering Bonnie and how he was so excited about this day, Chica and her enthusiasm towards her cooking and Freddy's respect and care. She suddenly remembered the purple curtain.

"Oh, I see. How's life? I'm guessing it ain't too bad." Nancy said as she switched the topic, bored of the previous one. (Y/N) admittedly wanted to keep talking about it but she didn't want Nancy to be bored around her so she let it be.

After that, their conversation topics were normal. At least, what they considered normal. She missed this. She missed her. She knew that they weren't in college or high school anymore; they were adults and each of them had responsibilities. Sometimes, the little things meant so much more to (Y/N). Holding Nancy's hand again was comforting. It reminded her of when they were in the high school days, fooling around with no fear of what happened next. (Y/N) could see clearly that Nancy had matured but she knew that she herself really hadn't. She always wanted to go back to do all the things they've done all over again. She wouldn't ever be tired. She had always loved the adrenaline.

This had went on for hours. Eventually, it was time for Nancy to go home with her husband and for (Y/N) to go to work. She made sure to give Nancy a constricting hug before they parted ways. She stood there within the crowd, watching her best friend leave with her husband's around wrapped around her with a small smile. Nancy was so happy. (Y/N) craved that happiness too, just not in the way that Nancy was experiencing it. She wasn't unhappy with her life, not at all. It was just that sometimes, she wished that there was more to a simple routine. She turned to go to the parking lot.

Once she reached her car, she sighed heavily but not unhappily. She never realized how tired she was from walking around until she sat down. She rubbed her ankles to ease the soreness. She rested her hands on the steering wheel. In that moment, she made up her mind; she would get a cat. Ever since the thought came up, she just felt increasingly lonelier. She may as well just fulfill her desire to just get a cat. Maybe then her apartment wouldn't be as quiet and peaceful anymore.

She finally shoved her keys in and turned the ignition when her legs didn't feel as sore anymore. Embarrassingly, she got a bit lost on the way to Freddy Fazbear's because she was so in thought. What kind of cat would she get? Would the shelter still be open later at night? Maybe she could catch them on the way home. She did know a shelter that stayed open until 10 or perhaps that was on a different day of the week. Nevertheless, she would check just in case.

By the time she had finally reached the pizzeria, it was 4 pm. It wasn't too bad. In fact, she was really, really early. She slipped through the door after a father and son went out. Inside was the same thing she would always see when she stepped in; the animatronics making the children happy. It always touched her heart and she was right when she had previously said that she wouldn't get over the sight. Her eyes drifted over to Freddy and she laughed when she saw the bear getting coddled by the children. One of the children obviously looked like she had a crush on him and was holding his hand while every other kid was grappling on him.

She jumped when she felt two massive hands on her shoulders from behind. She calmed down when she heard a familiar snicker come from behind her. She turned around with a grin and was met with a purple torso. She had almost forgotten how tall he, including the rest of the animatronics, was. She craned her neck upwards and saw him bending himself slightly to meet her eye. She knew she was a bit short compared to others but goddamn it, this really takes the cake. Why did they design the animatronics to be just as taller, if not taller, than a normal doorframe anyway? Bonnie is supposed to be a goddamn bunny. He smiled lopsidedly at her and she couldn't help but smile back.

"So, was the anticipation as much as you expected?" she said cheekily, leaning towards him slightly.

He laughed, "More than you think. New friends are always a pleasure and I didn't get to actually meet you yet.". She smiled widely in amusement but the children behind him caught her eye. Bonnie followed her eyes and looked at the kids as well. He switched his gaze from her to them.

"Hiya, kids! This is (Y/N). She's our mechanic." he introduced her to them.

Some of them looked confused and one of them raised their hand and asked curiously, "What's a mechanic?".

He kneeled down in front of the child and said, "Well, a mechanic is like our doctor. They take care of us, clean us and make sure that we're okay so that we can play with you.". He poked his nose and the child giggled. A girl went up with a mischievous grin on her face. (Y/N) found herself dreading whatever the kid would say. Sometimes, children were just plain terrifying.

"Are you two married?" she said, drew out the last word tauntingly. Immediately, (Y/N) held her hands out in front of her shaking them rapidly and tried to defend herself and her pride but words couldn't come out, just an embarrassed choking noise. Bonnie chortled and held his abdomen, bending over from his laughter. She bristled, completely and utterly embarrassed, and pointed her finger accusingly at him. It only served to make him laugh harder. She opened her mouth to say something to the girl but Bonnie swung his arm around her shoulders.

"Yeah, we're married." Bonnie winked at the girl. She knitted her eyebrows together and went to protest but something in his eyes just said 'give the kids a show'. She smirked, knowing where this was going, and let herself go. She relaxed herself and locked her hand with the one resting on her shoulder. They both looked at each other and smiled. The children were "oooh"ing at their display of 'affection' and the who had asked the question looked satisfied though still mischievous for more.

"Run along now or else I'm gonna come and eat you all." Bonnie roared at them playfully as they all giggled and ran away, scattering to different sections of the pizzeria. She disentangled her hand from his and he removed his arm from around her shoulders. For a moment, they just stared at each other then they burst out in laughter.

"Married? Really?" (Y/N) choked out as she wiped a tear.

"Well, what did you expect me to do? The kid wanted us to be married. Ask and she shall receive." he said, shrugging his shoulders.

"You could've done literally anything but say that we were married to satisfy her." she said, her laughter dissipating, and brought herself to crane her neck upwards to look at him again and clasped her hands together.

"How could I ever miss the opportunity, oh gorgeous wife of mine?" he smirked down cheekily at her.

"You cheeky fuck." she blurted out, not noticing her slip of the tongue, narrowing her eyes playfully.

Bonnie put a hand on his chest and gasped out dramatically, "Honey, this is a children's establishment!". She laughed shortly and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

"You don't want us to start our first fight in here, do you? Otherwise, we might as well get a divorce." she said as coldly as she could without laughing, crossing her arms. Bonnie fell to his knees with a desperate look on his face and cradled her arm to his face. (Y/N) took a small glance around the room and noticed the parents looking on, but she payed no mind to them.

"My love, please don't. I'll change, I swear." Bonnie 'pleaded'. (Y/N) scoffed playfully and dramatically put a hand on her forehead, bringing her head up to the opposite direction in a mock show of woe.

"Alas, I know that deep down you will never." she 'spat' down at him. He looked down in 'sadness' but the shaking of his shoulders gave him away.

A small giggle managed to wiggle out of his mouth and (Y/N) quickly followed. He stood up straight, still giggling, before going back to bending himself down in an attempt to reach her height. Her giggles got so excessive that she had to place a hand on his shoulder to right herself. She found it so funny that they put on a show that could equal into a bad telenovela in front of all these people. It was also quite a relief that she could be childish once again with someone.

When she finally stopped giggling, she looked up at Bonnie's bent down form and patted his shoulder before letting go.

"Well, that was something." Bonnie said, a happy grin on his face. She supposed that maybe the animatronics don't entertain his childish agenda and didn't play with them like this all that often.

"It was. I didn't get to ask yet but how are you and the others?" she said half out of common curtesy and half out of genuine curiosity and concern. Having to be a children's entertainer was probably tougher than it looked. Some kids nowadays are really such a pain. She could never do a job like this, no matter how high the pay. It just wasn't going to be worth it in the long run.

"Oh, Chica and I are fine. I'm not so sure about Freddy right now though." he snickered with a hand on his snout. (Y/N) tilted her head in confusion and turned to look at the direction where she saw Freddy last time and almost burst out laughing again.

Freddy was absolutely covered in children. If she thought he was coddled before, it was nothing compared to this. Children were hanging on his arms and two were around his shoulders. Others were climbing on him and some clung to his legs. Their parents were taking pictures. She felt a bit bad for him as he struggled to gain his balance. He didn't seem angry or frustrated with the children though. He just looked nervous that their constant movement would male him fall over and for him to end up squishing them. His eyes met hers and he quickly tipped his top hat in acknowledgment before another child grappled onto him. She quickly waved back and turned back to Bonnie.

"Yeahhh, he's definitely not okay." she said flatly and Bonnie laughed.

"Huh, you don't say. He looks fine to me." he rolled his eyes sarcastically which she snickered at. She remembered Chica and scanned around the room for her again but couldn't find a single trace of the huge animatronic.

"Where's Chica anyway?" she asked, slightly concerned. She fiddled her thumbs together, something she did out of habit when she was nervous.

"She's in the kitchen with some of the kids. Said something about baking." he drawled out, shrugging his shoulders casually.

"Oh." she simply said, having run out of conversation topics. She checked her watch and it was only 4:30. "When's your next show anyway? Also, shouldn't you be with the children? You're just helping to add up to Freddy's crowd over there." she said playfully, smiling lopsidedly at him.

He simply shrugged, "He can handle it.". She raised a brow at him before smirking mischievously.

"Let's see how you like it then." she said. He looked confused but his eyes widened as she went to jump on him. He caught her with ease, one of his hands on her back and the other behind her knees. He smirked down triumphantly and she just pouted and crossed her arms together.

She wiggled around in his arms, trying to make him have some difficulty in carrying her weight but he just smirked wider at her failed attempts. She huffed loudly and threw her arms up in exasperation.

He snickered, "Give up?". She chose not to meet his gaze and nodded slightly. She waited for him to put her down but he made no move to do such. She stared up at him from her position bundled up in his arms and he simply stared back.

"Well?" she said.

"Well, what?" Bonnie replied innocently.

"Are you going to put me down?" she asked.

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because I don't want to."

"Why?"

"Because you're soft."

"You're soft too, but I don't want to stay up here. What's your point?"

"I like watching you suffer."

"How dare you. Guess we'll really be needing that divorce after all." she snickered out. He gasped out in mock offense and set her down gently.

"Now you can't leave me." he said jokingly.

"Please, you would probably follow me just to annoy me." she rolled her eyes playfully. He gave her a look that told that it was exactly what he would've done.

He glanced down at her watch and said, "I think it's time for me to get ready for the show. See you later, dudette. It was nice talkin' to you.".

He winked and (Y/N) waved at him as he went backstage to undoubtedly get ready. She chose an unoccupied table to later on watch the band perform. It wasn't her usual corner table and she didn't really feel comfortable being out in the open but a table's a table. Eventually, she saw Chica appear out from the kitchen with a long conga line of children behind her with bags. It was probably the result of their baking like Bonnie had said. She ushered them  to go back to their parents and glanced back to the tables. Chica noticed her looking over and waved enthusiastically. Then, she slowly and awkwardly pointed towards backstage. (Y/N) already knew that she had to get ready for showtime so she smiled at her supportively and nodded her head towards the direction. Chica beamed at her and waved as she disappeared backstage.

She drummed her fingers rhythmically on the table. The children were waiting impatiently at their tables while their parents wiped off the sweat emitting from them. Eventually, all the lights turned off so suddenly that (Y/N) jumped.

"Ladies and gentleman, gather round, gather round! Sit back in your seats, eat some popcorn. And lest we forget, enjoy the show." came blaring from the speakers. It sounded quite old, but she had to admit that there was something nice about it that highlighted how old the place was.

The cheers and screams of the children was deafening as the curtains opened. (Y/N) winced and was tempted to cover her ears but stopped herself. She hated to seem like a killjoy when everyone was clearly having fun. Up on the stage were Bonnie, Freddy and Chica in all their glory. She didn't really listen to what they were singing. She instead decided to focus on making Bonnie screw up somehow. She made funny faces and weird dances and poses. He was stubborn, she'd give him that, but two can play at that game. Lucky for him, she wouldn't back down so easily.

She knew she looked like a complete moron to the other people who would turn around and see a girl lying across the table posing like Rose in Titanic but she didn't necessarily care at this point. The only pride she had left was that Chica and Freddy were too busy paying attention to the children, who now stayed in front of the stage itself, that they didn't glance her way. Good, she preferred it that way. She was definitely okay with Chica looking but she didn't know how to handle having the calm and mature Freddy look her way and see her like this. Eventually, Bonnie caved in with a wheeze, confusing Freddy and Chica enough for their music to stop and the children to stare at him.

"I'm so sorry. It's just that my wife over there keeps on trying to lure me in." Bonnie smirked as (Y/N)'s eyes widened. How did she not anticipate it? Of course he would get her back. That's just a package deal that came with trying to screw up Bonnie's performance. Quickly, she scrambled off the table when he motioned toward her direction. Lucky for her, she got off just in time for the people who haven't already seen her to notice her pose. Bonnie 'aww'ed in disappointment from his failed attempt and Freddy and Chica looked at each other in obvious confusion.

"Wife? What wife? I don't think it's even possible for you to marry someone, Bonnie. Must I remind you that you're a robot?" Freddy asked as his ears twitched. (Y/N) felt a bit bad for Freddy. The poor bear was probably so confused. She could see the gears turning in his head trying to figure out what in the ever loving fuck is happening. Bonnie smirked, having found a new opportunity, and (Y/N) mentally prayed that it wouldn't be so bad.

"Oh, it is. We just got married a while ago." Bonnie snickered, looking straight at her. She crossed her fingers, her last ditch effort to getting lady luck on her side but it was useless. Freddy followed his gaze and saw her on her chair covering her face with her hood. He looked at Bonnie, silently demanding an explanation.

"This is my wife, (Y/N). Isn't she precious?" he said with a hand holding his cheek. She mouthed a 'fuck you' and knew that he understood when he laughed. The children and parents were now all looking at her and she noticed the one that started all this madness laughing at her. She had half a mind to flip her off but kept her self control. Chica started giggling and Freddy had his eyebrows scrunched together. She really didn't want to contribute any further to the chaos but this was probably the only way to end this smoothly. Even if she did deny it, she knew Bonnie would still imply it and the children would still tease her nevertheless.

"Honey, don't make the show about me. Continue on." she said as sweetly as she could to him at her current situation. He snickered at her misfortune and Freddy seemed to huff at the entire situation.

"Of course, honeybuns." he told her just as sweetly before continuing to strum his guitar's strings and the show continued like it never happened. Well, except for the continued glances of the children and Bonnie's taunting stares. She wasn't really able to listen to the show after it. She just sulked in her own embarrassment and repeatedly played the scene in her head. She would huff and turn her head away every time Bonnie would taunt her with his gaze and his bouncing shoulders only showed his enjoyment for her embarrassment. She pulled her hood farther over her face every time the most embarrassing parts to her surfaced on her mind.

Eventually, the show ended and it was closing time. She waited impatiently and fidgeted on her chair. Once the last guest left the door after hugging Chica's legs, she stormed her way to Bonnie and made sure to make them only a few inches apart. She pointed an accusing finger at him as he smiled at her, eyes glinting in amusement. She felt her face redden in slight rage and embarrassment.

"What was that for?!" she burst out, tiptoeing in an attempt to be eye level with him even though she didn't come close.

"I don't know. What were your little dances and poses for?" he asked smugly, his chest puffing up from his slight pride in himself for his creative payback. She just wanted to wipe that smug little smile off the planet.

"I-I!" she stuttered out. She really had nothing to say that wouldn't end up with him teasing her relentlessly once again. She settled with crossing her arms and huffing, letting her gaze fall to the floor.

"Aww, c'mon, honeybuns." he said tauntingly down at her, not leaning down in the slightest.

"I hate you." she mumbled out with a red face.

"No, you don't. You absolutely love me. You're my wife." he said with a hand on his chest, emphasizing 'love'. She lightly punched his shoulder as she laughed. She couldn't stay mad at him. He was way too goofy to be mad at.

The sound of someone clearing their throat made her snap her and Bonnie snap their heads toward the person. It was Freddy and he didn't look too happy if his crossed arms and frown were anything to go by.

"Miss (Y/N), I'd advise you to ask Fredrick what you should do for your first shift rather than fooling around with Bonnie." Freddy said sternly. She smiled at him sheepishly. She was so forgetful that she forgot that she came here to work, not play.

"Hehe, sorry, Freddy." she said nervously, twiddling her thumbs.

"It's fine, Miss (Y/N). Now, hurry on to his office. You don't want to waste anymore time than you already have." he said, smiling. She grinned up at him, not expecting him to let her go that easily, and ran to Fredrick's office. She opened the door to see Fredrick with heavy bags and her happiness got squashed like a bug. No wonder he didn't go outside himself.

"Fredrick, why do you look so tired? Did something happen?" she asked him, concerned. This poor man. He didn't deserve this at all.

"Ah, it's fine. I just got a complaint from a new employee is all." he said with a slight chuckle. She opened her mouth to reply but he beat her to it. "Anyways, you're here to ask about what you're gonna do for your first shift, right? Well, you can clean them this time. In between their gaps and all. The other employees are too scared to even come near them." he added.

"Do I have to remove any of their outer-" she asked but was interrupted.

"No need." Fredrick said quickly. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get to these bills." (Y/N) felt a bit guilty for having interrupted him as in his job so she quickly left with a small wave. She sighed once the door closed. Perhaps he just wasn't feeling to talking today.

"So? What did Fredrick say?" Chica asked and (Y/N) looked towards the gang. Chica was sitting on the edge of the stage while Bonnie leaned on it and Freddy just stood close to it. They were all looking at her, waiting for a response.

"Well, he said to just clean you. He probably wanted to start 'easy' on me." she informed them. Now that Fredrick had mentioned it, they did look a bit dirty especially Chica but that was probably because of the baking she did a few hours ago.

"Would you rather we do it backstage or here?" she asked them thoughtfully. Maybe they didn't want to be in a cramped space and would rather be in the same room as the rest of their friends while being cleaned.

"It's fine anywhere, really." Chica waved off with no concern while the other two just nodded in affirmation.

"Then we'll do it here." she said before removing her hoodie, revealing her tank top underneath. She then quickly tied it around her waist and rested her hands on her hips. Freddy was avoiding her gaze or rather any part of her at all. For some reason, he eventually stopped moving as a whole, including his eyes. He just seemed to stare at a nearby wall. "Does anyone know where they place their cleaning materials for you?"" she asked with a smile and a raised brow. Bonnie looked at Freddy, silently telling him to direct her, but if Freddy noticed, he didn't respond. Bonnie made a sound that mocked a sigh and pointed towards backstage.

"It should be backstage. It should be under the table. You may have to get the toolbox too, though. Freddy doesn't look too good." Bonnie helpfully informed her as Chica started to check on Freddy.

Without wasting a moment's time, she rushed over backstage, worried for Freddy. She knew it was a possibility for machines to restart into and she didn't want that to happen to Freddy. Sure, he can always be reprogrammed but she knew he would never be the exact same as he really was now. She got slightly spooked when she walked in because of all the spare parts and endoskeletons but she disregarded them in favor for helping her friend. She slid on the floor and immediately grabbed the two toolboxes that was labeled "Cleaning" and "Tools" and rushed back out.

Bonnie already seemed to have seated Freddy down on a table, seeing as how he would probably break the chair from his weight. (Y/N) gently put the cleaning materials on the floor and took the tools with her. She climbed the table and got a screw driver to open a small hatch she read from the manual. From the corner of her eye, she could see Chica fretting and shaking Bonnie from her panic. She tried not to smile because of the serious situation. There was small hole under the hatch. The hole, based from what she read in the manual, was going to supposedly reboot his system. If this doesn't work, then something really must be wrong.

She pulled a hair pin from her jeans' pocket and put it in the hole. She waited for 5 seconds before removing it. She got a bit worried because there was still no response from Freddy. She slid off the table and went in front of him. She leaned closer to him to check for any abnormalities. She flinched when he suddenly shook his head and sighed in relief once he was looking at all of them with confusion.

"What happened?" he asked, confused. Ah, so he didn't remember anything when he shut down.

"You shut down. You had a system restart or something." Bonnie replied. Freddy leaned away, taken aback. Freddy looked down in thought and turned to (Y/N).

"I am sincerely sorry to have added onto your work. I didn't mean to have shut down so suddenly." Freddy said, seeming genuinely ashamed of himself. He really didn't want to burden her, even if he was part of her job. She didn't think much of it though. It was her pleasure to be working for the company and to care for his wellbeing

She came closer to him and put a hand on his arm seeing as how she could reach his shoulder without making it awkward and said, "It's fine, Freddy. You aren't a burden to me at all. It's my pleasure making sure you're alright.". She smiled up at his widened eyes and soon enough, he was smiling back. She suddenly turned around with her hands on her hips as she beamed at the other two.

"Well, now that Freddy's taken care of, I think I should clean you up first, Chica. What were you doing in the kitchen anyway? It just looks like you took a shower in flour." (Y/N) giggled out. Now that Fredrick mentioned to clean them, she really couldn't help but realize how dirty they really were. They were covered in various food. Bonnie and Freddy had handprints of little toddlers all over them. Some were cheese, tomato sauce and other kinds of food. Chica had the worst of it though.

"Actually, the kids and I were kind of playing around more than we did baking." Chica said sheepishly as she rubbed the back of her neck. (Y/N) laughed. She wanted to join sometime. Then, they can create the maximum amount of chaos back in the kitchen.

"Let me join in sometime, alright? Alright, let's start. Sit down wherever and we can start." (Y/N) instructed as she went to the tool box filled with cleaning supplies for them. The supplies were kinda weird but she didn't complain. She didn't know much about cleaning animatronics. Cleaning the animatronics probably wasn't in the job description for being a mechanic but she shrugged it off. As Fredrick said, the other employees were afraid of the animatronics.

Chica sat down on the table right beside where Freddy had previously sat. Freddy was now on the stage reading a book. Huh, where did that come from? She shook it off so that she could focus on the task at hand: cleaning Chica. She got a brush and a towel. She held out a finger as to signal her to wait for a moment then promptly disappeared to go the restroom to wet the towel. Water wasn't necessarily good for their wires and machinery but as long as the water didn't hit their internal wiring, she should be fine. She made sure that the towel wasn't too wet and quickly power walked her way to the dining room to Chica. The first thing she did was to brush off the flour, which was the admittedly easy part. The hard part was to wipe off the stains from food.

She glanced every once in a while at Chica. She felt a bit awkward that they were in close proximity but weren't speaking a word to each other. She could hear Freddy and Bonnie banter a bit from behind her but that was the only other sound other than Freddy flipping the page of his book. She also felt a bit guilty because she didn't know Chica as much as she knew Freddy and Bonnie. Sure, she didn't know a lot about them either but she had barely talked to Chica the entire time.

"Er, how's it like being the only girl in the band?" she asked her, attempting to break the silence with a bit of small talk.

"Ugh, it gets a bit tiring. You don't know how stubborn they are. I don't have a lot of people to relate to. The kids are nice and all but they're kids. I'm not insulting them at all but you get me. The waitresses are scared of me and wouldn't come within a few feet radius within me." Chica chattered. (Y/N) smiled, understanding full well. Growing up, her neighborhood was full of boys and the few girls would always stay indoors with dolls. She liked dolls too when she was younger but she always found playing outside funner than playing with dolls could ever be.

"I understand. Being with boys can be a handful. You just feel responsible for everything they do and always be on the look out but that doesn't mean that you don't join the fun too." (Y/N) replied, speaking from past experiences. She furiously but carefully wiped at Chica's hand where a ketchup stain simply won't go away. Chica's eyes lit up.

"Exactly! The guys are great but sometimes, you just want a girl to relate to." Chica sighed out. (Y/N) smiled in victory from finally scrubbing away the stain, concluding Chica's quick clean  up on her exterior. She quickly snatched another towel from the box but this one was dry. She wiped in between her exterior to reach a bit of the endoskeleton beneath to make her movement a bit easier.

Chica giggled, "Hey, that tickles!". Her shoulder twitched, indicating that she was about to bring them up from where (Y/N) was wiping.

"You just have to deal with if. Trust me, you'll feel much better after." (Y/N) assured her. The rest of the time just included Chica trying not to burst out in laughter from how it tickled. After a couple of minutes, she finished cleaning Chica up and was proud of her work. Chica seemed much newer, not to mention cleaner.

"Okay, Chica. You can get up now. I'm done." (Y/N) smiled at her. At her words, Chica jumped up and wriggled her hands and shoulders.

"You're right! It is easier to move. Thank you!" Chica yelled. (Y/N) smiled at her excitable behavior.

"Just doing my job, Chica. Now, go. I have to clean up other certain animatronics." she said playfully and watched as Chica ran towards the kitchen. Guess her work would all be for naught. The chicken better hope she's still clean when she gets out. She looked over the room and saw Bonnie tuning his guitar and Freddy still reading the aforementioned book. Freddy looked immersed in the chapter he was reading so (Y/N) decided to have mercy on him and called over Bonnie instead.

"C'mon, Bonnie! Your turn!" she yelled from across the room. Bonnie's ears perked up at the sudden loud call of his name and Freddy barely flinched, only looking at her for a few seconds before returning back to where he left off. "Sit on the table. I'll just clean one of the towels. I'll be right back." she added. She picked up the towel and went back to the restroom to clean it. The stains from Chica had, of course, transferred to it. She didn't think it was nice to clean Bonnie with a dirty towel. She quickly squeezed the water out of it and went back to the dining area. Bonnie was already sitting on the table where she had cleaned Chica, waiting patiently for her arrival. Once he noticed her moving in the corner of his eye, he smirked at her and she knew that he would endlessly tease her until the end of it.

"Hello there, oh loving wife of mine. Ready to clean me up?" Bonnie teased with lidded eyes and a grin. (Y/N) felt the tips of her ears redden.

"Oh, shut up." she said, flustered at his teasing already. He snickered and relaxed on the table as she went to brush his fur. He closed his eyes in appreciation at finally being cleaned and he hummed. It sounded sad yet happy, like a lullaby.

"What's that song?" she asked him curiously. He peaked open one eye to look at her from her kneeled position to brush a bit of the fur on his legs and smirked.

"Maybe if you don't look like you're about to blow me." he snickered. She gasped at his lewd words and immediately stood up to playfully punch his shoulders. She glared up at his laughing form. She felt herself blushing the hardest she's ever had as she bundled her hands up into the hoodie around her waist. She glanced around the room and saw Freddy staring at them. He looked emotionless and his head was tilted, his mouth open. She felt unnerved by the sight. It honestly scared her. She looked away as quickly as she could so he wouldn't notice her looking.

"Well, are you going to tell me then?" she asked, trying to take her mind off of what she had seen of Freddy.

"Nope," Bonnie said cheekily, taunting her with his usual smirk, "I really was gonna tell you but you punched me."

"I hate you." she told him flatly, a pokerface taking over her features.

"No, you don't." he replied.

"No, I don't." she replied a tad bit more affectionate than she expected it to be. He looked shocked, then contemplative then happy. He looked at her in a close eyed smile and continued to bask in the light sweeps of the towel that she brushed against him. There really wasn't any crumbs or dirt in between his mascot. She certainly wasn't complaining though. No one wanted extra work. Once she was done with the last stain, she threw the towel on his face, a playful gesture. He jolted, surprised that something suddenly landed on his face. He removed it and looked at her.

"What? You were being irritating a while ago and this is probably the only way I can possibly get you back without you announcing that I was your wife." she said, rolling her eyes. Bonnie snickered.

"I'm only irritating for you, honeybuns." he winked at her before going back to the stage to get to his guitar. She was about to call Freddy over but Bonnie already tapped his shoulder and told him to. She sent him an appreciative smile and he smiled back and saluted mockingly.

"Freddy, you can sit on the table. I just have to quickly wash off this towel." she quickly told him before running back to the restroom for the third time that night. She quickly washed it, squeezed the water out and ran back. She was feeling a bit excited because he was the last one. Freddy was already sitting on the table. She smiled at him but eyed the small bits of crumbs that got stuck in between his suit. He clearly won't be as easy as Bonnie though his stains were significantly less.

"Okay, I'll start with in between your suit because it seems to have the most dirt right now. Chica told me that it tickled. Just letting you know." she told him reassuringly. He smiled.

"Of course, Miss (Y/N). You can hurry on. I don't want to bother you for too long." he told her as he closed his eyes. She nodded, though he couldn't see from behind his closed eyelids.

She brushed the dry towel between his mascot's crevices and immediately noticed just how warm he was. She wasn't directly touching him but she could feel the warmth emitting from him. It was worrying no matter how much he had previously insisted that it was normal. She decided not to speak on it. He was relaxed and didn't seem to be distressed at all. She was sure that if there was something wrong he would tell her himself. Yet, a small part of her constantly worried. Just a few minutes ago, he had a system reboot. She couldn't help but feel like there was something wrong.

Eventually, she had finished cleaning in between the mascot and went to scrubbing off the stains. Most of them were shaped into a child's hand. She wasn't really surprised given how many children latch onto him during the day. He cleared his throat, seeming to want to break the silence.

"Miss (Y/N), what happened earlier today?" he asked. There was a small glint in his eye which she couldn't really identify.

"What do you mean?" she asked him back. She knitted her eyebrows together when she had a problem with scrubbing off a stubborn stain.

"I mean, when we were on stage performing, Bonnie called you his wife." Freddy explained himself. She burst out laughing at his words. The only thing she had on her mind right now was how absolutely flabbergasted and confused he looked when Bonnie announced that she was his wife.

"Ah, some girl asked if we were married when we were talking around the entrance. Bonnie just said that we were married to appease her then it sorta became an instant inside joke for us." she giggled.

"Ah, I see. So it wasn't serious at all? No intent whatsoever?" he asked with a raised brow of suspicion. She looked at him with an incredulous look on her face.

"No! I mean, why would I? He's my friend." she replied. He hummed, not saying anything in reply to her. She knew her and the bear weren't totally close yet but she couldn't help but feel disappointed when he didn't continue talking to her. He really seemed cool.

A few seconds later, she finished cleaning him. She smiled at him as she admired his now clean fur. She jumped up to her feet and fixed the towels and put them back in the toolbox. She got up and carried both of the toolboxes with her backstage. She jumped once again when she saw the spare parts. She put a hand to her chest and regulated her breathing before quickly putting the toolboxes back and sprinting back outside. She went to Fredrick's room to say her farewells and announce that she was done with the task.

"Fredrick? I'm the done with cleaning them." she said a bit loudly as she opened the door to his office.

"You can go back home, (Y/N). The night guard will be coming soon and I'll have to lock up." he told her, obviously sleepy and tired. She gave him a sympathetic smile.

"Okay. I'll be going now. See you tomorrow." she told him quietly. She closed the door carefully and turned around to see the animatronics going to their stage.

"Why are you going to your stage?" she asked.

"We always have to stay on our stage during the night. It's like a way for the night guard to know that nothing's wrong." Freddy quickly responded. She nodded her head in acknowledgment.

"I have to go now, guys. It's quite late." she glanced at her watch. It was 10:57. She knew they were dirty enough for it to take a long time but she didn't know they were reay that dirty.

"Would you like me to walk you back to the entrance again, Miss (Y/N)?" Freddy asked, already holding his hand out for her to hold.

"If you'd like, Freddy." she said as she smiled at him. He was already making his way down the stage.

"Bye, Bonnie. Bye, Chica." she said as she did a small wave.

"I'll miss ya, honeybuns." Bonnie replied mockingly with a small wave of his own which she rolled her eyes at playfully.

"Maybe next time we can talk more!" Chica said, her smile practically splitting her face in two.

"Heh, maybe we will." (Y/N) replied happily as she put her hand in Freddy's. Freddy chuckled and shifted his hand to hold hers more comfortably, lacing his fingers between hers. They slowly walked over to the exit and Freddy looked at her.

"So, how was your first day? I hope we weren't too hard on you." he asked her. She looked up at him and thought for a bit.

"It wasn't bad. I actually kind of enjoyed it because instead of just working on a car, I'm working with people." she told him honestly.

"That's good." he told her with a small smile before stopping in front of the exit door. "I'm afraid this is where we part ways again, Miss (Y/N). Once again, do take care of yourself whilst getting home."

She smiled widely at him before hugging him. He stiffened and he was oh so warm. He hugged her back, cradling her head and her upper back, and she couldn't help but feel safe. His warmth enveloped her and made her feel like she was in her mother's comforting hug. It was the hug she would feel when she was sad and scared. It melted away all her problems. She pulled back.

"Thank you so much, Freddy, for being so welcoming. I know it must be hard because of your previous mechanic." she told him thankfully.

"It's my pleasure, Miss (Y/N)." he told her, warmth in his gaze.

"Bye, Freddy. Maybe next time we can read that book together." she said as she hovered her hand over the door's handle, looking at him. Unlike last time, she was waiting for his own response.

"Until next time, my dear." he told her with half lidded eyes and a fond smile. His words made her smile in turn and he turned around to go further inside the quiet pizzeria. She quickly pushed open the door, not noticing how he stopped in his tracks to turn and watch her leave.

She drove home carefully, trying as much as she could not to fall asleep. She was so tired. Usually, she would also be up at this time even if she didn't have the job but this different. She actually did something productive and it wore her out. It was quite late and she couldn't go to the animal shelter like she had previously planned today. It was fine, she could always do it tomorrow. She had a lot of time as long as she woke up early enough.

When she reached her apartment building, she quickly parked and locked her car's doors, giving it a loving look before she went up the steps to her floor. She quickly changed into baggy jogging pants and a tank top. She took a deep breathe before falling on her bed, almost immediately passing out.
