Two Months Later
The week before Thanksgiving
Duncan's POV
It was November 17th and I sighed as I missed Gwen so much. Courtney and I were fighting so much now and I felt like we were breaking apart. I lost Gwen as no one's heard from her since the night of her grand opening two months ago. It was Thursday one week before Thanksgiving and Ronnie and Brody were both in school.
I was sitting at my desk and my mother texted me asking if Courtney and I had anything planned for Thanksgiving and I said no and so she texted me come home to talk it.
That Night
Duncan's POV
It was around 8 o'clock and all my siblings were visiting from their jobs. The Russo's were over too along with Connor and Courtney's mother.
"Okay so, as you know no one knows where to go for Thanksgiving, but that may be solved." My mother said
I looked at her and crossed my arms.
"The Russo's may go to California and stay at Ivan's resort and they invite us if you guys what to go." My mother said
"Would Gwen be there?" Robbie asked
"Gwen's in South Africa, and Ivan doesn't know when she's coming back." Tristen said
Robbie nodded and we looked around.
"You all would be paid for, its a free trip to northern California." She said
"Yeah sure" Ashley said
Everyone started to say yeah and I nodded and Courtney did too.
Six Days Later
Tuesday two days before Thanksgiving
Duncan's POV
Once Ronnie and Brody got out of school at noon, and we all made our way to the airport. We made it through security and then walked to our gate. We were able to get a flight straight to California and I we sat down. Courtney ended up falling asleep on my shoulder and she was adorable. I kissed her head.
Later
5:30 P.M.
Duncan's
Once we got to the resort Ivan was standing there with his brother Patrick at the front doors. They didn't make us check in we all just got keys. We had so many rooms that we got a whole building and I had a room with Courtney. We did have a room that we were all going to hang out at the huge sweet. As Courtney and I unpacked we started walking up to the suite room.
It was huge and beautiful. I saw Geoff and Bridgette sitting on the couch next to my sister. My family, Courtney's family, and the Russo's were all here.
"This place is huge." Ashley said
"Yeah, who's paying?" Randy asked
"Not you guys." Ivan said walking in with Patrick
"Please tell Gwen is." Tristen said
"She's getting about 60%." Ivan said
He looked around and Patrick looked at him.
"Where's Gwen again?" Brody asked
"South Africa" Patrick said
"Is she coming back anytime soon?" Ashley asked
"She was supposed to come back a month and half ago, we don't know." Patrick said
"Wow" Valentine said
"That's Gwen for you." Patrick said
The door opened and Brandon walked in with Alejandro, Heather, and two other guys. Heather saw us and looked at Alejandro. The two guys looked like Alejandro.
"These are José and Carlos my older brothers." Alejandro said
We nodded and they sat down.
Ivan looked at us.
"I just want you guys to know, there is a huge blizzard coming tonight." Ivan said
"I thought it snows in April here?" Courtney asked
"It does, but every once in while in snows in November and with does it a blizzard." Ivan said
"Are we gonna freeze?" Randy asked
"It means I would get food or like extra blankets." Ivan said
We all looked at each other.
"Okay let's spilt on what we're getting." My mother said
"I'm getting drinks." Randy running out the door
"Alcoholic" Ashley said laughing
"Okay, Dominic can you get non-alcoholic drinks." My mother said
He nodded and got up with Meredith.
Gwen's POV
I was driving to Ivan's resort as I wanted to surprise him with what I spent so much time in South Africa. I knew there was going to be a blizzard as I saw on the news and it was below freezing, as clouds were coming.
"I better get to ski for free." I said as it started to snow.
I had about another four hour drive and my music got interrupted by my automatic weather app. I looked and it said that I heading towards a blizzard.
"The one fucking day I decided to come up here without Ivan." I groaned and started driving faster.
Duncan's POV
Courtney and I were getting snacks and food. I saw Ashley talking to James. They were laughing and I smirked. They were obviously flirting too which made everything better.
"You two gonna fuck for warmth?" I asked
Ashley jumped and James looked at me and then at Ashley.
"Go to your wife Duncan." James said walking away and taking Ashley with him
I turned and Courtney was standing with her arms crossed.
"You don't understand." I said
"I don't have to." She said and walked away
I made a face as she walked away. I rolled my eyes and followed her.
Two Hours Later
Duncan's POV
We got to the ski resort and everyone has things set up. I put my hand on Courtney's and she put her hand on my shoulder. I looked at Ashley flirting with James.
"Can you two just go fuck, we've been waiting for that moment for about eleven years?" Valentine asked
James glared at him and Tristen laughed.
"James it's true...I give consent as she's my little sister." Randy said
Ashley was staring at him.
"I told you." I said into Courtney's ear
Connor laughed and Brandon looked at them.
"This is exactly how we are with Gwen and Patrick." Alejandro said
"They are" Patrick said
"Because you two are always together, always on top of each other, almost never fight, and you act like a couple." Noah said
"I can't have a best friend?" Patrick said
I sighed as these are the talks I would have with my family and Gwen's, almost once a month. I looked at Robbie and he mouthed you're fine. My mother hit him and looked at me and said it's ok. I rolled my eyes and laid back.
"You two are fucking I swear." Alejandro said to Patrick
"We aren't" Patrick said looking away
"Oh shit, you two are." Ivan said
"How...she's been in South Africa the past two months." Patrick said
"...before" I said
"She's always somewhere else and I live in New York." Patrick said
They all looked at each other.
"You're still suspicious." Noah said
"What about you, you two complement each other like you're in love." Alejandro said
"I've known her for seven years...pretty sure something would of happened by now." Noah said
"That's what we don't know." Brandon said
"You two dated for like five years....how do we know you two aren't still." Ivan said
"I don't have an excuse, just know we aren't." Brandon said
"You two dated?" Courtney asked
"Yes...more than that....problem?" He asked
"No I just think it's kinda cool." Courtney said
He nodded and looked at his phone.
Gwen's POV
I was driving through snow and it was 8 o'clock. I had another two hours of driving through this. I knew if I stopped it would just be worse tomorrow, and I was lucky it wasn't sticking to the road yet. I drove it all.
Two More Hours Later
Duncan's POV
It was 10 P.M. I had no idea how I was still up. Along with everyone else. No one was asleep, even though it would be like 2 A.M. at home. I think it's cuz everyone slept on the five hour plane ride. We were watching a movie on cable and it went to a commercial. Patrick looked at his phone, he was texting someone and Ivan looked over his shoulder.
"Tell her I said hi." Ivan said
He texted something else and he laughed and showed him his phone.
"Okay fuck you too then." Ivan said
Patrick typed what he said. He laughed and then looked.
"That makes sense." He said
"What?" Noah asked
"Turn to channel four." Patrick said
"Um were watching a movie." Alejandro said with his arm around Heather.
"Wanna know why Gwen was in South Africa?" He asked
He nodded and Patrick looked at Ivan. He turned the channel and it was the news. Patrick then got up.
Gwen's POV
I was sitting in the car in front of texting Patrick. I had my suitcases and I walked up to the suite I was usually in and I walked towards the door and Patrick was standing there.
"Why are you here?" I asked
"Thanksgiving" he said
I nodded and he had my suitcases.
"Did you see why I was there?" I asked
"No they're doing the lead up to it." He said
I nodded and we walked up to the room. He opened the door and....
Duncan's POV
We were watching the tv.
"So we finally found out what Gwendolyn Russo was doing in a South Africa." The lady said
"What?" The guy asked
"They were huge clothing line shoot and she was the main photographer. She also said that she saw a desert and had to paint it." The lady said as the painting was put on the screen.
"She is so gifted." Ashley said
"Thanks" someone said
We all looked and she was standing there with Patrick behind her. Noah got up and ran to her.
"Oh thank god you're not dead." He said hugging her
"I almost died on the way here." She said
"Amazing how the one time I come without you there's a huge blizzard." I said
"You're not welcome." Ivan said
"I kinda have to stay." Gwen said
"You didn't pay." Ivan said
Gwen looked at him. I could tell she was really tried.
"I haven't slept in more than twenty-four hours...unless you want to literally kill..." She started closing her eyes
"Let's going to sleep." Patrick said picked her up and taking her to the room
I don't know why, but I kinda felt a little jealous seeing Patrick carrying Gwen into the room. I looked away and hugged Courtney.
Gwen's POV
I hit Patrick as I sat down on the bed. I was so tired.
"I wasn't finished yet." I said
"I don't care." Patrick said and he pushed me over and sat down next to him
I hugged him and he put his arm around me.
"I missed you." I said looking at him
He put his hand under my chin and kissed me.
"I missed you too." He said
I hugged him tighter and then fell asleep.
Duncan's POV
I saw Patrick kiss Gwen and I sighed and put my head against the wall. I knew those two were gonna fall in love and fucking get married and have like four children who grow up to famous business men/ women and artists or both. I walked into the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror.
"What's up with you?" Brandon asked
I didn't want to tell him, because he was Courtney's brother and I knew he hated her, but he's still her older brother and would kill me for breaking her.
"You're in love with Gwen, and you're getting married to my sister in May and you don't what to do hurt her. You also don't want to tell me, because you think I'm gonna tell her and then beat the shit out of you." He said
I nodded and he laughed.
"I know everything. Gwen told me about you, that's why we broke up. I can tell you're still in love with her by the looks you give her and that conversation that we had earlier you probably had when you were like high school every other month or every month. Anyways I seriously don't like my sister and if you break her I don't care. Gwen and Patrick that won't last long, because they'll notice they're just friends like I'm about a day. Now you, talk to Gwen...she may not want to, but just try." Brandon said
I stared at him and he nodded and walked out. He walked into the bedroom.
"Move over" He said and sat down next to Gwen
Gwen woke up and saw me. I smiled a bit and she smiled back. Brandon gave me a look and Patrick smirked. Brandon pushed her towards the balcony and I sighed and walked there too.
"So are you two dating?" Brandon asked
"No, we just...kiss, I guess, it's weird." Patrick said and I walked outside to her
I sat down and she looked at me. She looked like she was about to fall asleep.
"Hey" I said
She didn't say anything, she just hugged me. I hugged her back. I could tell she started crying and I rubbed her back.
"What's wrong?" I asked
She shook her head and just cried into my chest. I looked back at Brandon and Patrick. They were watching us. Gwen looked up at me.
"I want to tell you, but.....no." she said with tears running down her face
She ended up crying until she fell asleep in my arms. She was so warm and peaceful. I looked down at her and she whipped her tears. I picked her up and brought her to the bed.
"Did she want to talk?" Brandon asked
I shook my head. Gwen snuggled up to Patrick and he looked at her. She woke up again and I just stood there.
"This is weird." He said
"I know" Gwen said
She rolled over and hugged Brandon.
"Hug him" Brandon said
She looked at me. She started tearing up.
"I can't, he's...getting married to your sister." Gwen said
"Yeah" Brandon said looking at me
"Yeah" I said sighing and walking to the the door
I walked out and looked at Gwen. She stared at the tv and a tear dropped from her eyes. I closed my eyes and walked away.
