_________________________________________

When you were born, you were able to speak Chinese. You could read Chinese, too. You were a very intelligent child. Though, you didn't learn these things. They were memories of your past life. Of course, over time, you learned remembered these words and writing system.

When you were 5, you became famous. Everyone loved you.

Though, people were also scared of how evil you would sometimes act. You had murderous thoughts and enjoyed pain. People were curious about you. . .

-----

Your long/Medium, H/C and black hair blew gracefully in the wind. You had a long, F/C thick and furry coat on. You hummed a song called, "High Mountain Flowing Water." The snow that was lightly flowing around you made everything cool yet perfect.

In your hands was a book filled with Chinese myths. Though, even if everything was elegant, you couldn't brush off the paranoid feeling. The burning eyes on your back didn't go unnoticed, and wouldn't leave.

Y/N spun around, stopping. The eyes went away. She glanced around the snow-filled forest and ground. Though, Y/N knew it didn't go away though.

Suddenly, a chill ran down her spine. Soon after, fear consumed you. Her breathing was hitched and she dropped her book. She brought her hands to thing keeping her from breathing. It smells like chemicals! Y/N muffled screamed went unheard as she soon shut her eyes. It would be like that for a while.

----------

A warm feeling surrounded her. A comforting light filled your vision, surrounded by idyllic darkness. Her eyes slowly opened, as you blinked a few times. Though, as soon as her vision was no longer blurry, she was filled with dread once again. Not only was the room eery in such darkness, but...

A sinister looking figure looked down from above Y/N. Her eyes were widened and her breaths were shortened. She tried to move her hands, but they were stuck behind her, as she was tied to a damn chair.

"Good morning, Y/N. Did you have a good rest?" The man asked. He had long black hair that was in a ponytail, a black attire. His arms were being his back, and he looked well built. He stood up with perfect posture. A dark chuckle emerged from him.

Y/N's eyes widened as she sucked in air. She was unable to scream, due to her fear.

"And still the same way as before, Y/N. You already understand what is expected. Silence. I like it," he said.

"Now, you must have questions. Who am I? Why are you here? Will I hurt or kill you? Before I answer, I feel you should know a little about yourself and what it is so....unique," he paused. Y/N was curious, so instead of screaming, she just listened, to avoid dying.

"You used to live another life. And in this past life, you were my wife. Your name was the same, your appearance similar, etc. I could not let you go, when I could have you back," he chuckled at the end.

"So, my dear Y/N, will you stay with me until the end of time?" Y/N was afraid to answer, especially since this could just be some demented psychopath. She only stared for a few seconds, shaking a little. Her lip quivered as she opened her mouth. Nothing came out. She shit her mouth, but for the sake of her life, she nodded.

"Great," the man said, bringing his arm to his chest. He chuckled afterward. "Now that you have agreed to stay here, I should answer a few of your questions, shouldn't I? Ask away."

Y/N stayed silent at first, quivering her lip as she opened her mouth. Nothing came out. Until a minute later.

"Wh-who are...y-you...?" She asked quietly. Just enough for the man to hear.

"I am your husband, Shang Tsung," he answered, placing his hand on his chest. He then put his hand behind his back. Y/N felt much better, knowing who she was talking to. And since she can arrest him if she escapes.

"...Where am I?" Y/N asked, slightly louder.

"You are at home. On my island, in Outworld," he answered.

After many more questions, Shang Tsung untied Y/N, trusting she wouldn't run away. Though, she still didn't trust him yet...

---------

It was around midnight. She was supposed to be asleep with him. Then where was she? She was wandering around the island secretly. Though, she found herself in the Flesh Pits.

Suddenly, a scream woke him up. It was very faint, but due to his great hearing, he could hear it underneath him. He laid up on the bed, not seeing her there. Anger began to burn inside him. I mean, what did he expect? Not this, as stupid as his idea was.

When Shang Tsung made his way to the Flesh Pits, he noticed her crying on the floor. She had never seen such horrific things before! All the blood, bodies, and more scared her greatly. And who were those women in those tubes!? His other "wives?"

"It seems you have betrayed my trust and found my workplace, Y/N," she heard from behind her. She was on her knees, the same position from Sayori's second scene. She then turned around, one of her hands on her cheek to wipe tears.

"You...You monster!!" Y/N screamed, pointing at Shang. He just smiled smugly, chuckling. He began to walk towards her, causing her to crawl away.

"Please, it is nothing you haven't seen before. In fact, some of this," Shang opened his arms out, "-was your work. Your murder."

Y/N stared intently, before very softly. She turned back around and stared at the bodies. She then broke down into tears again. She held her hand to her face, and her other on the ground as she hunched over.

Shang Tsung walked over, one arm behind his back, the other in front of him. He then sat on his knees perfectly next to Y/N, then put his hand on her back.

"Don't touch me!" She yelled as she slapped his hand away. She crawled away a little in the process, making him chuckle.

"Do not worry. You won't end up like them, Y/N. So stop crying, dear," Shang frowned. His eyes showed no sympathy or worry. Only love and a small portion of bloodlust. His anger, of course, led to such feelings. Though, it would go away with Y/N by him.

--------

Finally, he could calm her down. He brought her back to bed, where she was forced to stay. He would wait until she fell asleep to prevent her from leaving again. And be would keep her close, literally.

He wrapped an arm around her, keeping her back against his chest. She faced away from him, not wanting to look at him or breath on him. She was terrified of this murderous man. She couldn't sleep, knowing he could potentially be plotting her demise. But he seemed to love too much to do so, and he seemed to miss her, so...

When Shang pulled her closer, Y/N's face grew warm and red. They were completely touching! So of course she felt odd about it. And uncomfortable. He chuckled, making her even more embarrassed.

Y/N accidentally made a small noise of discomfort, which made Shang chuckle. Y/N grew embarrassed. Especially when some inhumanly attractive guy was teasing!

"Sorry, dear. But I cannot risk you leaving. Besides, you will soon appreciate this." Whatever that meant, Y/N didn't like it.

-----------

Y/N was noticeably missing on Earth, in Earthrealm. Besides, she's famous for being on talk shows. And she's social media celebratory. On the island, though, there is no reception. Not to mention, her phone was broken.

Y/N eventually realized that Shang was also obsessed with spending time with her. She wasn't sure if it was because of him missing her or if he just loves her so much, he wants to revolve his time around it.

Speaking of which, Shang Tsung had given her clothing that would suit his tastes, and not her clothing that she would wear otherwise. It was [Choose le outfit and colors]. To be honest, as obvious as it was that he was just trying to mix their likings, it looked good.

------------

After about a week, a tournament began. ((Shang Tsung is in his younger form because this is an AU)). Y/N had been told about it by her "lover," but he didn't provide much detail. He said she is welcome to join, but she declined. She wasn't going to watch people kill each other for entertainment.

While the tournament was happening, Y/N was trying on outfits Shang had bought her. They were beautiful, from dresses to kimonos to hoodies, etc. And after picking a very detailed and pretty kimono, Y/N went to a garden. Shang Tsung said she could go there any time during the tournament.

Even though Y/N was still scared of Shang, and shy, he could be very kind to her. Ever since the tournament began, she began to learn about him more, and only feared him more. She rarely spoke to him, too.

But finally, the fear would go away for some time. Knowing that she could be calm and alone for some time, and not worry about dying...

Suddenly, Y/N felt a presence behind her, so she turned around. She yelped and stood up from the bench she was sitting on. There, stood Kano, the leader of the Black Dragon.

"Oh, um... S-Sorry, I didn't mean to g-get scared..." Y/N apologized, stuttering frequently.

"'tis is fine, luv. Now, what are you doin' 'round these parts? Didn't see you at the tournament," he asked. Y/N began to grow warm, sweating a little. Maybe he was a killer too...

"Y-Y/N is my name... And I'm Shang Tsung's wife..." She spoke quietly. He cocked his head.

"Oh? I thought you died. Nevermind, then."

Somehow, the two became friends quickly. She didn't mention that she was forced to stay here or anything, just in case he'd kill her for it. Maybe he would think she's lying, or here to steal, or something else. And Y/N was near death so many times in a week. So why risk it?

Eventually, Kano had to leave due to the tournament beginning again soon. You said farewell and waved, and he half waved in return. You smiled for a second, before looking back into the pond in front of you. The flowers were beautiful during sunset.

You sighed peacefully and looked down, stroking your H/C hair. And while doing so, you eventually felt something on the side of your head. You turned around, seeing Shang Tsung. He was smiling. A flower was put into her hair.

Y/N's face heated up, and she turned back around, hugging herself. She looked down again as Shang Tsung walked around the bench and sat next to her.

"It will rain soon," he mentioned. Y/N looked up, seeing the clouds darken. She then looked back down, now deep in thought. She was uncomfortable and felt her heart race.

"That was Kano. You used to be close to him. So it's no wonder you two got along so well," he went on.

"Is he....also a murderer?" Y/N asked quietly, putting her hand in her lap and squeezing her legs together as a sign of discomfort. Her other arm was put on her chest, as a sign of comfort.

"Of course. Did he not tell you? He is the leader of the Black Dragon. Does that name remind you of anything?" He asked, smirking smugly again.

Y/N didn't respond, but... It did. They were well known in Earthrealm. Which means she just spoke to...

Y/N began to breath heavy. Once again, she was getting an anxiety attack. She held her hands to her chest and looked down, closing her eyes.

Shang Tsung wrapped an arm around her, and held her close. She rested her head on his chest, and she felt her face heat up again. She closed her mouth and excepted his comfort, even if she didn't really like him too much.

-------------

She had been alone for a long time now. In bed, she couldn't help but think of where her "lover," is. He hadn't said anything to her since they left the garden. For all she knows, he could have been killed! Then she would be stuck on this island forever!

Shang Tsung was in the empire, discussing the new tournament he suggested in order to save his life. He was constantly thinking about Y/N, and finally, he was able to see her. The new tournament would be created and discussed with Raiden. And by discussing, he would be forced to participate.

Y/N began to wander again. She was trying to find someone, anyone! But instead, she found this woman. She was wearing a blue attire and she was looking around carefully. Y/N decided to follow, and eventually called out, "Hello..?"

Suddenly, fans appeared in her hands as she faced Y/N. She had an angry look on her face.

"And who are you?" She called out. Y/N put her hands to her chest.

"I am...Y/N... I need help out! Where is Shang Tsung?!" She asked, worried and desperate.

"Y/N...You're his wife? But, didn't you die?" The girl asked, lowing her weapons. She slightly cocked her head.

"That's what he keeps telling me. But I'm not sure if he's confused or... But I need help out! I want to go home!" Y/N cried out, feeling tears in her eyes. She took and fee steps closer.

The girl sighed, "I am Kitana. I will help you out but under two condition. If Shang Tsung finds you, you will not mention me. And you shall not attack me. Is that understood?" Kitana asked. Y/N nodded, walking towards Kitana. She hugged her arms to her chest, smiling softly.

They made their way to the Flesh Pits, but Y/N refused to go with her.

"I already found that place a-and it's horrible! I-I-I can't go in there again!" Y/N cried, waiting at the door. Kitana nodded, walking in alone. A few minutes passed, and Y/N heard yelling. It sounded like Kitana.

Y/N peaked inside, a hand on the cold, stone wall. She saw nothing but dim light. Until Shang Tsung walked out, holding a knocked out Kitana. Y/N's eyes widened as she covered her mouth, poking her head out of the corner.

She felt tears swell up as she began to slide down to the ground. Shang walked out, looking down at Y/N. His smile was gone. He looked pissed.

"Y/N... Go to bed. I don't want to find out that you left. And if I do," he paused, looking to the side, "you won't like it."

And just like that, a portal opened. Shang walked through it, carrying the princess. And just like that, the portal disappeared.

Y/N just sat there, walking with her knees to her chest. A few moments later, she cried again. She stayed there for 10 minutes before wiping her tears away and standing up. But can she be blamed? Her last chance of escaping to Earthrealm was gone, just like that.

As soon as Y/N got to her room, she fell on the bed. It was black, as it was the theme of the room. Though, it was very soft and comfortable. Candles, a small desk, weapons, and other things filled the room. Y/N closed her eyes, falling asleep quickly. She just wanted to forget about this day.

---------

The next day came by quickly, and Shang was alone in a workplace, once that wasn't the Flesh Pits. He was calm, so writing poetry would help him keep that positivity.

Suddenly, arms around him. He was surprised, but happy when he saw Y/N from the side of his eye.

"Greetings, dear. What brings you?" He asked, turning his head to look behind himself. Y/N sighed, resting her head on his.

"Is there...by a-any chance...I can," Y/N paused. Her breath hitched, as she was scared about his response. "-go home?"

Shang Tsung was silent for a moment. He then stood up. Y/N backed away, bringing her arms to her chest. He turned away from the table and faced her. His brown eyes showed anger that was... Resisted?

----------

Y/N cried herself to sleep once again. Though, this time, she was alone. She found it hard to sleep with a cut on her left arm. He wouldn't treat it. She didn't know how to clean it, other than with water from a pond. But even that wasn't clean due to fish.

The wound was two inches long and very thin. So little blood escaped. But it still hurt.

After Shang stood up, he said something about how the island was her home. She argued, though. She wanted to be home more than anything, which pissed him off. He lost his temper and hear her. All he gave her was that large cut and small marks. They didn't hurt much, luckily.

Y/N was somewhat happy to sleep alone. Though, she also felt lonely. For a while, the only person she could truly interact with was Shang. And now he's gone for some time. Y/N couldn't help but think about where he was. Maybe he was with another woman. He claimed to live her so much, but she wasn't sure.

Her dreams were horrible to her. Y/N walked around this lovely forest, but suddenly, it got darker and eviller. Some trees grew to have faces. They had green, floating pupils. Hung people and starved people were everywhere. Blood covered them. Especially the ones without eyes. Some of the corpses were by the tree's mouth. Maybe it is people?

All the blood and bodies and... Y/N began to hyperventilate. She couldn't breathe. Sweat covered her as she gasped for air. Suddenly, she woke up.

She wanted to see Shang, laying there with concern on his face. He would ask her if she was fine and what happened. She would then feel calmer and sleep again, but...

Y/N opened her eyes and saw no one. Just an empty space. Was she abandoned?

"Oh, gods..." Y/N began to cry again. This time, not as much. But sleep wasn't an option when her thoughts were rude to her.

At around 6 AM, Y/N grew calm and tired. But she couldn't fall asleep. Finally, she felt warm and comfortable. For the most part. But she couldn't sleep because of it...

Shang Tsung then came in. Oddly enough, he was drunk. He and a few friends spent time together, as Shang was paranoid. His mind never crossed Y/N though.

He sighed and stumbled over to the bed. Quickly, he fell asleep. But before that happened, Y,/N wrapped her arms around in a hug. Shang Tsung didn't remember the argument due to a drunken memory, so he wrapped an arm around her before sleep.

----------

The next day went by, and this time, Shang helped Y/N's wound. It wouldn't fix it, as it's already kind of dirty, but she'll live. Although, she was asleep during the process. In was around 8, anyway. Afterward, Shang got rid of the material and walked out of the room. Not before covering up Y/N.

He returned to Outworld, to continue with his work.

-----------

Y/N was cooking, strangely. There is a chamber that was like a kitchen on the island, and due to the chefs' disappearance, she decided to cook something herself. Can you guess what it was? Probably not. But, it was [Favorite Traditional Food]. Y/N remembers cooking this is Earthrealm, so it should be nice to try it again.

Luckily, as soon as Y/N got done, Shang arrived. He was worried, unsure as to where she was. So he began to run around until he smelled the food. By this time, Y/N had already found a beautiful, large dining room. She set down the food and went to grab plates.

Shang Tsung walked into the room, seeing what Y/N was trying to do. Although cliche, it seemed Y/N was too short to get the plates. So when she suddenly saw a hand grab them from the cabinet, she jumped. Her face turned red when she looked at Shang, seeing him smirk at her.

She looked away, frowning a little. She wasn't sure if she liked or disliked Shang yet. He's a murderer, dammit! But he's also very kind to her. Usually.

He walked off with the plates and used sorcery to bring silverware. He brought the plates to the table before using sorcery to lift them and set them out perfectly. Y/N was just watching, her mouth slightly open. Highlights were in her eyes.

Y/N adored the green magic that surrounded the objects. She brought an arm to her chest as she walked over to the table. She watched as the magic faded away, and everything was set up.

"It seems you are impressed. Would you like to see more?" Shang asked. Y/N blushed, looking away. She didn't want to admit it, especially since she feels like she being belittled, but she wants to see more. Especially since she thought magic was fake.

Shang chuckled, standing. He lifted his hands, and suddenly, fire appeared. Within the fire was a skull. Y/N looked back up, staring at the skull. She made a small 'o' with her mouth. It then became a small smirk.

Shang showed off many other things. Him shapeshifting, becoming a cobra, summoning a cobra, etc.

"I never thought of such things! It must have taken a long time to learn this," Y/N smiled. Shang nodded, smirking.

----------

This time, Y/N was fine with Shang. She got to learn a lot about him and enjoyed him. Maybe she did have a past life, who was his life. After all, she used to have murderous thoughts. And, as a child, was stealthy. She feared it when people got close to her, as she felt like she would get caught for something she didn't understand.

They were close to falling asleep by now, and for once, she was comfortable. She rested right next to him, her arms against his chest. And finally, she fell asleep.

Shang looked down at Y/N, a dark smile on her face. He chuckled silently, raising an arm that was around her.

It was child's play for him to retrieve souls and memories. Returning them to Y/N would be a challenge, but it will be easier in her sleep. Suddenly, a green mist appeared from his hand to around Y/N head. That same smug grin remained on his face.

Y/N's eyes slightly tensed, but she remained asleep. That smile on her face left, replaced by a frown. Shang then chuckled again, wrapping his arm around her head. He brought her head closer to his and closed his eyes.

---------

The next morning, Y/N woke up before Shang. He would usually have to get up at around 6-7, and he woke up at 6:45 this time. When he woke up, he saw Y/N staring at him. When he saw her, she blushed and looked away. He just chuckled, sitting up.

"Staring, I see?" He teased. Y/N looked away, making half a poker face. He chuckled again, turning over and flipping his legs over the bed. He stood up and walked over to the closet.

"Hey, did you do something last night? To me?" Y/N asked. She blushed when she thought about how strange that sounded.

"Well, depends. What do you mean by that?" He asked, smirking. He grabbed an outfit, then faced Y/N.

"You know what I mean! I woke up with strange memories of you and me. Did you do this?" Y/N asked again. Shang then smirked wider.

"Perhaps so, but perhaps not," he said, walking out of the closet. He sat the close on the bed, then put his hands behind his back. He was waiting for something.

It took a few seconds for Y/N to understand, but as soon she understood, she blushed again.

"Oh! Um, sorry! I'll leave!" Y/N quickly got up from the bed, then was fast to the door. Though, Shang grabbed her shoulder softly, saying, "Well, you don't have to leave."

Y/N's face turned redder. She pushed his hand away and walked out. Shang chuckled in response, "It's your loss."

After a few minutes, Shang walked out. He wrapped his arms Y/N from behind. She jumped, then giggled.

"You scared me, Shang," she stated. He let go, smirking again.

"Oh? Is that so? How about I take you somewhere that will really scare?" He asked. Y/N gave him a half concerned and half curious look. She nodded.

--------------

Y/N was terrified of Shao Kahn, but who wouldn't. Though, she was given the memories of her past life, so she was mainly afraid of him being disappointed in her. She died so easily, after all.

But he understood and gave her a task. It had been a long time since she's seen the emperor, so killing may be strange to her. And she was nervous.

She had to kill a group of Outworders. A small amount. They carried weapons and we're very strong though. They had stolen from the emperor, but weren't caught. So Y/N would have to kill them. But she was very stressed about it.

Suddenly, the new princess, Mileena, came by. When Shang Tsung defeated Kitana, she was killed.

"Hello there, darling~! How are you?" She asked, seductively. Y/N looked at Mileena. Didn't she see her in the Flesh Pits?

"I am just thinking about how to defeat that group of thieves. But so many things could always go wrong," Y/N vented. She crossed her arms, leaning against a piler. She just giggled crazily.

"It's easy, doll! Just find them and finish them one by one. Kill them when they are alone! And if I am free, I can always help~!" She giggled again.

Y/N nodded.

----------

Y/N returned to the empire in pain. She had a few cuts and bruises, along with Mileena. Somehow, she was able to go to. When Shang Tsung saw Mileena, he had an evil, bloodthirsty look in his eye. He was proud of Y/N for achieving such a task. Now she would be rewarded.

Shao Kahn approved of Y/N and her victory. She would soon be brought to the position as third best again. However, for the time being, she was low.

Shang and Y/N went back to the island. As soon the portal went away, Shang took Y/N's hand. His other was placed on the bottom of her chin. Slowly, their lips connected, forming a kiss.
