Dua. Three small letters that make up a word and a subject that is large and breathtaking. Three small letters that changes the Qadr of each one of us if we put that into verb.

In Islamic terminology, dua is the act of supplication. It is calling out to God, it is a conversation with God, our creator, our Lord, the All Knowing, and the All Powerful. In fact, dua is uplifting, empowering, liberating and transforming and it is one of the most powerful and effective act of worship a human being can engage in.

Prophet Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, said "A slave becomes nearest to his Lord when he is in prostration. So increasr supplications in prostrations." "The supplication of every one of you will be granted if he does not get impatient and say, 'I supplicated my Lord but my prayer has not been granted'

(I hope you get what you are longing to receive In shaa Allah)

Here are some of the duas I know.

Dua asking for Wisdom

1. Allahumma allimnil-kitaaba wal-hikma(ta), wa-faqqihnee fid-deen

Meaning: 'Oh Allah, Teach me the Book and wisdom, and grant me understanding of the religion"

Dua for seeking knowledge

2. Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan

Meaning: Oh, Allah! I ask you for knowledge that is of benefit, a good provision and deeds that will be accepeted.

Dua for firmness in faith

3. Allahumma thabbitnee, wajaalnee haadiyam-mahdiyyaa

Meaning: Oh, Allah! Make me firm (in faith), guide me, and make me a means to guidance.

Dua asking for guidance

4. Allahumma-hdinee wa-saddidnee

Meaning: Oh, Allah! Guide me and make firm my steps.

Dua for intelligence

5. Rabbi-jidnee Ilman

Meaning: My lord, increse me in in knowledge.

Or Rabbishrah lee sadree Wayassir lee amree wahlul uqdatan min lisanee yafqahoo qawlee.

Meaning: O, my sustainer! Open up my heart and make my task easy for me, and loosen the knot from my tongue so that they might fully understand my speech

Dont fret. Here's the compilation of duas. Start with Bismillah and memorize it.

Jazzakalahu Khayran Jazzah.
