At this hour, and the fact that I live only a few miles from the club, it took me all of 10 minutes to get home. I walk in through the door and shed my clothes and take a quick shower.
I sit on the couch and then stare at my phone, looking over the texts with James. Why did he suddenly become so cold? Should I text him? Should I apologize for something? Did I not thank him for the beer? Did Marla really scare him off? Is it too late to text? I'm going to anyway or I'll never be able to sleep tonight.

Well, so Marla's not the problem then. After giving him a few minutes to text back something, I get impatient.

>> [Ken; 12:20 am] oh. u left so suddenly

>> [James; 12:21 am] Speaking of, shouldn't you be sleeping right now?
Dammit. Really? You believed that lame story? I'm pretty sure Marla didn't.
>> [Ken; 12:23 am] I lied. I made up an excuse to get away from Marla and Josie

>> [Ken; 12:26 am] I was gonna see if you wanted to go somewhere else
>> [James; 12:27 am] So you don't have to work tomorrow?

>> [Ken; 12:28 am] but I'm used to little sleep on the weekends
>> [Ken; 12:28 am] a little sleep and I'll be fine for work
And then dead silence. Is this guy allergic to texting? Or conversation in general? Why does it feel like I'm the one chasing him? Am I coming off as desperate?

>> [James; 12:36 am] Yes.
What do I say now? Maybe I'll screw with him a little. See if he answers this.

I stare at the screen, waiting for his response. I feel rather childish now. What if he doesn't answer? What if he's a bottom? I should have asked myself these questions before I sent the stupid text.

Maybe? What? Is he afraid of commitment? I toss my phone down on the couch and stretch, rubbing my face with my hands. He's not interested at all. Screw it. I'm going to bed.
